Hilarious. I thought Freeman was gay.

The #MeToo torpedo circles around and finds another target. Unexpectedly! By November, the Dems will find themselves in an deeper hole than they are now.

There’s an Easy Reader joke there somewhere but I’m too tired to find it...

Forget playing God, he's played the President. The idea of a sexual harasser in the role of President is unthinkable.

Leftwing Hollywood votes Democrat and rapes it starlets.

"Kept trying to lift her skirt and asking whether she was wearing underwear . . . "

Why can't these women understand that's the price for working with such a great man?

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

but we must listen to leftwing hillarywoodlanders and buy their Marxism.

Vance said...

Remember, we conservatives are so backwards bumpkins and oppressors of the wimmens. We should be like our moral betters, like Weinstein and Freeman and Laurer and, well, the list goes on and on.

Correct, leftists? Christians are not to be listened too, especially on how to treat women. We should listen to Bill Clinton and Anthony Weiner, who clearly are morally above those icky Christians. They know how to treat the ladies--just as the ladies want, of course.

That dumb idiot Pence, who won't go anywhere without his wife... how foolish! Why, how will he ever be accused of molesting a female if he's never alone with one? It must be so frustrating to the left to not be able to make up any stories about Pence.

Am I the only bothered by the casual conflation of things like comments about clothing and the lifting the dress thing?

Idols is a bit silly. I must confess there isn’t anything specific wrong with her tweet, except she's posing. Like she knew all along. But if she knew, why didn’t she say? (Did Freeman pony up 100 grand?) She's attention whoring. As usual. “The most dangerous place to be is between Chuck Schumer and a microphone.” She's in Schumer's league.

I’ve held nothing but contempt for Freeman ever since he announced that the only reason anyone had for opposing Obama was racism, straight up. It’s not as though we had a right to be upset over paying more for worse health insurance coverage. Nope. Racism, straight up.

I hope he and Weinstein wind up in adjacent cells.

I wonder what percent of the population would identify a Hollywood celebrity as his or her "idol."

And did McGowan ever apologize for saying that working on a film directed by a convicted child rapist and pornographer of young boys (Victor Salva) was "none of her business" and he was "a really sweet guy?"

Salva is also the creator of the "Jeepers Creepers" b-movie horror franchise. From Roger Ebert's review of the second film in the installment: "Despite Scott's homophobia, the movie has a healthy interest in the male physique, and it's amazing how many of the guys walk around bare-chested. The critic John Fallon writes "at a certain point, I thought I was watching soft gay erotica," and observes that when four of the guys go outside to pee, they line up shoulder to shoulder, which strikes him as unlikely since they are in a very large field."

I remember seeing this film in theaters during a night out with friends and having an identical reaction. It was only later that I discovered the director was Salva.

Talk about some shit luck. This was announced literally 2 days ago:

Man, sucks to be the people on the team that conceived that and pulled it together to have it implode 2 days later. Life is so random, and sometimes so capricious.

As French said at NRO the lefts moral standing is taking a beating.

Who next will be shown to have feet of clay?

I have no idols. None living, certainly. I sympathize with Rose's victimization. I have contempt for the idea that it makes her some kind of moral referee.

Kevin said...

“Certainly not my idols.”

She’s talking to her peer group of Hollywood actors and actresses. They certainly idolize him.

Her mission is to clean up Hollywood, not every office building on the planet.

Was Morgan Freeman McGowan’s idol?

Why?

Because he was black?

Ken B, no you're not the only one. Apparently one of the complaints is that he "stared" at people's bodies. Absurd to conflate that with assault.

Rose McGowan's most unforgettable role

Jaq said...

[T]here constantly appear in life people of such good behavior and good sense , such sages and lovers of mankind, as precisely make it their goal to spend their entire lives in the best-behaved and most sensible way possible, to become, so to speak, a light for their neighbors, essentially in order to prove to them that one can indeed live in the world as a person of good behavior and good sense. And what then? It is known that sooner or later, toward the end of their lives, many of those lovers have betrayed themselves, producing some anecdote, sometimes even of the most indecent sort. Now I ask you: what can be expected of man as a being endowed with those strange qualities? Shower him with all earthly blessings, drown him in happiness completely... - Notes from Underground
Dostoyevsky

Jordan Peterson is right, the Christians, for all of their magical beliefs, have called this one dead to rights.

Jaq said...

Still the Weinstein Clinton close friendship is banned from the narrative. Harvey thought he couldn’t be thrown overboard. Silly rabbit.

Jaq said...

This is all so much bullshit, and it’s business as usual in lefty land until they call out the 800 lb gorilla everybody on the left is ignoring. So far all they have done is renegotiate the level of power one needs to get away with this stuff.

"Am I the only bothered by the casual conflation of things like comments about clothing and the lifting the dress thing?".

No. Much as I despise Freeman, this stuff sounds pretty tame. If looking at a woman is harassing her, you have to wonder why they work so hard to get you to do it.

mikee said...

If the anti-harassment crowd continues lowering the standard for sexual misbehavior by males, all white guys be just as much rapists as they are racists, homophobes, Islamophobes. Much like claiming everything is a Holocaust diminishes the facts of the actual murder of millions of Jews, Catholics, Gays and others by Germans last century, claiming everything is (fill in the blank) loses the meaning of the word used.

I am watching the destruction by the Left of another once-powerful word and concept, sexual assault, through their oft-used techniques of homeopathic dilution of the definition to include all behaviors, from feloniously criminal to merely impolite, followed by misattribution of the charge upon entire populations. You go, Lefties!

The Male Gaze is now more than a bit of agitprop from an old feminist manifesto, it is equated with rape. To hell with that.

When I started working women drank, smoked, told sick jokes and, in times of pressure, asked Who do I have to f*ck to get outta here. No one blinked.

If you pulled some of this Freeman stuff - hiking a skirt or breast-gazing - they'd tell you to knock it off or 'dream on'. That changed after Anita Hill. C'est la vie.

Weinsteining, forcing sex for livelihood, that's a dirty, punishable crime.

William said...

If you grade these things on a curve, his behavior is not so bad, at least by Hollywood standards.

Jupiter said...

There is pornography that depicts women being humiliated and degraded in various ways. Apparently, some men find the idea of a woman being humiliated sexually stimulating. Do you suppose that only men take pleasure in humiliating the opposite sex?

Jupiter said...

Thanks, Freeman, we really get a kick out of seeing you grovel. Do it again!

DougWeber said...

The seventies comes back to bite us all in the ass. The zeitgeist in the 70's was that women we sexually empowered and the men should not concern themselves with the old gentlemanly behavior. Women will say what they want and do not want. They are empowered. We should be surprised that powerful men took this as a license to be as sexually active as they could? That silence was acceptance since women were powerful and would voice an objection? It certainly seems to me that this was the message of the time. But then I guess we should not be surprised when it turns out everyone was lying to us.
