"Oh, I try like hell to hide that bald spot, folks. I work hard at it. It doesn’t look bad. Hey, we are hanging in, we are hanging in, we are hanging in there. Right? Together, we are hanging in.”

That's Trump at CPAC. I found that at the NYT, which fleshes out the wisp of a story with other details about Trump's efforts around his bald spot, such as the time in June 2015 when he had a woman at some campaign event touch his hair and answer the question "Is that sucker real?" Her answer was "It’s thin, but it’s real."

I think it was the first time I saw Trump in Sioux City and he invited some woman up to the stage to pull his hair. “It’s real folks.”

Up close, it is a weird color and very, very fine.

As much money as he has, he could get a really nice toupee, or just get a buzz. Slavic women love bald men long time.

His hair is his trademark. He has joked about it before.
I listen to the whole speech. It was a pretty good rally-the-troops speech.
As usual he seems relaxed and comfortable in his own skin.
Tens of millions of people have been whipped into a frenzy of hatred against him, which seems to occupy most of their waking moments, and certainly all of their moments on social media. Yet Trump has his inner serenity going on just fine.
So important!

In photoshops of Trump with a long buzz cut he look soooo much better. Can not imagine his wives and children have not tried to get him to change this horror of a hairstyle. I suspect he envisions himself as a Samson, and fears he will lose his Trumpness if it is shorn.

A couple friends of mine are plastic surgeons. They both assure me there are several procedures available to him to give him a head full of natural looking hair. Given that money would not likely be a barrier, does Trump have some irrational reason to avoid it? He is famously known as a germaphobe? Does he also have that stereotypical masculine aversion to doctors? Do you ever get the feeling that Trump is a total pussy compensating by trying to act like his version of a tough guy? He's kind of like the Andrew Dice Clay of presidents.

lol. What do you want? You want to taunt me? Suck on this:

Ivana Trump’s assertion of “rape” came in a deposition—part of the early ’90s divorce case between the Trumps, and revealed in the 1993 book Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump.

The book, by former Texas Monthly and Newsweek reporter Harry Hurt III, described a harrowing scene. After a painful scalp reduction surgery to remove a bald spot, Donald Trump confronted his then-wife, who had previously used the same plastic surgeon.

“Your fucking doctor has ruined me!” Trump cried.

What followed was a “violent assault,” according to Lost Tycoon. Donald held back Ivana’s arms and began to pull out fistfuls of hair from her scalp, as if to mirror the pain he felt from his own operation. He tore off her clothes and unzipped his pants.

“Then he jams his penis inside her for the first time in more than sixteen months. Ivana is terrified… It is a violent assault,” Hurt writes. “According to versions she repeats to some of her closest confidantes, ‘he raped me.’”

Following the incident, Ivana ran upstairs, hid behind a locked door, and remained there “crying for the rest of night.” When she returned to the master bedroom in the morning, he was there.

“As she looks in horror at the ripped-out hair scattered all over the bed, he glares at her and asks with menacing casualness: ‘Does it hurt?’” Hurt writes.

“Self deprecating humor. I don’t recall that from him. Do I?”

I think that it has always been there. Always been part of his persona. How else does he play himself so well? Whenever you see him in a cameo, he is playing his persona, and seemingly enjoying it. This is another reason that he seems to fit better in the Republican Party. Democrats at the top seem incapable, almost, of doing the self-depreciating thing. Take themselves too seriously.

The way he handled the hair thing here no doubt got him votes. It would get mine, if he hadn’t gotten it already. It is completely natural for guys with even the best hair to thin a bit as they get to his age. Except maybe for Reagan. My hair was always one of my best features. When I was younger, it was thick and dark auburn, but started going gray about 40. Last week, saw an old friend (96, whom I have known for almost 50 years), who even last year complimented me on my hair. This visit, she commented that it was so silver. This from a woman who is just starting to go gray as she nears 100. In any case, my partner is always on me to start using Rogaine, or some such. Tried it once, and left it feeling weird. Even suggested hair plugs once. She tells me that I am balding in the back. That I am starting to look like her ex, who quit combovers at maybe 40, giving into the bald on top look. It’s in the back, so I can’t see it. Out of sight, usually out of mind. But still... a week or so ago I was at the barber, and I asked the woman cutting my hair about it. She said that it was just fine, but I had some cowlick thing going, so had to be careful how the back was cut. And showed me the back with the two mirror trick. Looks fine to me. Couldn’t quite see my scalp through my hair back there, so know that my partner is, as usual, exaggerating a little. I know that I am starting to get older, but am more worried about osteoporosis and maybe muscle mass loss. Hair is cosmetic. The others are not.

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

I am just thankful that Trump doesn't shave his head like so many 50 something men do these days. He is nearly 72, and still uses the energy of a 30 year old while working his lifetime 140 hour work week. So he is gonna look steadily older over the next 7 years. Maybe this is his way of doing a mea culpa on that old man look.

AllenS म्हणाले...

And showed me the back with the two mirror trick

Ha ha, I get that every time (maybe twice a year) that I get a haircut. Noticed last time that I have a more grayer stripe going from the thinning hole part on the top all of the way down to the neck line. At first I thought it looked like the stripe on a skunk, but then decided if confronted about it, I would just say that it's a racing stripe.

I can hardly wait to be ten years older.

Glen Filthie म्हणाले...

I'm a guy in his 50's that shaved it off, Tradionalguy. My choice was either get rid of it or do a really bad comb-over. It's a stick with two chitty ends and I had to pick one. This was back in my 40's. I think I heard it said somewhere that guys with a full head of hair in their later years also have very low testosterone levels - so I comfort myself with that.

Hey - it's all I got, alright? Give a guy a break! :)

The pony tail look is for hipsters and college professors. I know a few who don't realize how stupid they look. I suspect they are looking to impress younger women.

I don't get the shorts hatred. After I move to Arizona, I expect to wear shorts and sandals at least half the year. I have clear standards for shorts. The long ones look stupid.

As far as hair goes, length and age have a reciprocal relationship. The older I become, the shorter my hair gets.

I don't object to men in shorts. My husband has very nice long legs which are tanned in summer and he looks very good in shorts. That being said, the really baggy long ones that are take offs of basketball shorts made of nylon or polyester aren't that flattering on most men. If you're not a teenager or in your 20s you need shorts with some substance and structure if you're out in public.

Overblown and exaggerated claims are frequently made, in divorce complaints, and sometimes in other pleadings or discovery responses. Where sometimes the party at issue doesn't even sign or attest to the pleading. They are lawyer constructs.

Divorce claims should never be made in deposition testimony under oath. That's perjury.

I believed Jeri Ryan. At least, I didn't find it necessary to think that she was a crazed liar (like Donald Trump is). Jeri Ryan alleged three instances in which her husband took her to sex clubs, to have sex with her. She never alleged abuse or violence. I think that her testimony, under seal via a court order, should not have been unsealed. I think that there is no longer any doubt about Democrat dirty-tricks in unsealing the Ryan file. I'd have voted for Jack Ryan for the Senate seat from Illinois. I might not be enthusiastic about Jack Ryan. But I saw nothing disqualifying in that wrongly-exposed information.

Ivana Trump's claims about what can only be interpreted as a violent rape were made under oath on the record in a deposition. She's never stated clearly that her testimony was incorrect of a fabrication. She has only tried to weasel away from testimony that she has never disowned.

The Ivana Trump testimony was kept private only because of a payoff from Trump.

I think Trump could cut some off the back for a more subtle look. There is an unseemly hair pileup back there. Just do it gradually...in a couple months he'd look almost normal.

Sounds like the front is fairly intact.
