Said Jane Fonda, quoted in "Jane Fonda, Gloria Allred, Tessa Thompson Slam Trump at Sundance Women’s Rally" (Variety).
It seems like every day I see headlines about various people slamming Trump. Has anyone ever been so slammed? And to so little effect? And yet, Fonda and her ilk assert we can do it. Did you see the "We Can Do It" sign in the photo at the link?
Not terribly well drawn. She almost looks like she's hugging him, when clearly what is intended is a murderous chokehold. Through Google image search, I found this better-drawn version of the idea:
ADDED: The artist on the well-drawn version of the idea appears to be Kevin Karstens.
AND: Look at this other poster that came up on my "we can do it trump" search: A "We Can Do It"-type woman carving up Trump's head on a plate.

why are they strangling diversity?
I think I faintly remember seeing some similarly drawn cartoons in my childhood.
It's the permanent political campaign by pussy-hatted progressives
Everything is at stake? If everything was at stake you wouldn't put Gloria Allred and Jane Fonda up there as paragons of character and courage.
Once again, the violence inherent in the Left.
Is that all that lib women do, is bitch? Not a good way to go through life.
Hate is not a method.
Yeah.
What's with the violence?
Is that what democracy means to them?
Did he grab her pussy?
I think what is going on now is that while each "side" are flinging accusations at the other, it is just cover for each side's internal confusion and intramural search for the guilty who have gotten their respective parties into this mess.
There does not seem to be any leaders with any ideas for how to get out of it.

What effect would you like to see? His numbers are in the tank and Republicans are bailing out of reelection contests at a record rate. In a democracy this is the best that can be achieved by the opposition.

Democracy means getting what they want. Now. By whatever means necessary.
Rosie the Riveter voted for Trump.
"What effect would you like to see? His numbers are in the tank and Republicans are bailing out of reelection contests at a record rate. In a democracy this is the best that can be achieved by the opposition."
The numbers have stayed basically the same, despite all the attacks. I agree that the numbers are low, but the attacks are ineffective.
Manly Socialist Worker Knocks out Plutocrat. How 1920s.
Women don't mind looking like dingbats.
Why in God's name do any of these groups allow themselves to be associated with Jane Fonda? She's pure poison.
Jane,
Go back to supporting the North Vietnamese and to not saying anything about the rampant sexual abuse in Hollywood.
Women's March was yuge!
OK, so Sarah Palin puts crosshairs on districts in CO (among other places) and that is "eliminationist rhetoric." But a woman literally slicing up Trump's severed head on a plate is just different, because shut up. Got it.
People, maybe we ought to rethink the whole "eliminationist rhetoric" thing. Because, you know, I get the feeling you're doing it wrong.
Keep hope alive, ARM.
Gotta love the tattoo in the first drawing. I know it’s supposed to be the “female” symbol, but because the circle and lines aren’t connected, it looks like an upside down cross, a satanist symbol. To me, the tattoo says give Christians the finger. It’s a plausible message from that crew.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Donald Trump use the “shutdown” to make some moves that suit his purposes. If Obama’s people could close national parks, Trump could rope off the FBI.
I'm sure there are representations from angry deranged conservatives of Hillary being strangled by a white man, right?
Each side in Congress is going to have to figure out who within their own caucus is most to blame for this before they even think about negotiating with the other, never mind the White House.
I think Trump is in the catbird seat - again.
I wonder if Trump doesn't understand Women better than most women do. He has been well acquainted with some fine specimens. The current Feminist understanding of Women is a bit fraudulent, a vision of Women as the Movement wishes them to be, rather than as they actually are.
If certain women want men to understand why they are so upset by Donald Trump, they first must understand why Jane Fonda upsets so many men and has for so many years. I think those women are clueless.
"Jane,

Apparently, she has/had serious "daddy" issues, with her father having been cold, aloof, and never complimenting her or her work (which is why she did Golden Pond with him at the end of his life). The result, apparently, was a head full of spaghetti, when it came to sex. She, being the daughter of a legendary actor, wouldn't have needed to sleep her way into acting gigs. But last jelly would have been willing, if her husband at the time, thought it a good idea, or just wanted to watch. Which is why her being involved in this is so absurd.
Republicans are bailing out of reelection contests at a record rate.
What was the previous record?
How can someone who touts himself as a reasonable man spout such jejune rhetoric?
I don't know about the others, but Jeff Flake retired (chickened out, more accurately) because he feared being kicked out by Republican voters in the coming primary.
Quaestor predicts Flake's seat will go to a Trump supporter.
If these women really want to change the course of US policy, they will perform due diligence and get candidates to elect. They won't, of course. That's too much work. They'd much rather march with silly signs and sillier pussy hats.
Those girls don't even have a decent slogan. Sad.
PS - the first picture is the better one; the 2nd's head is too big and it makes the implied neck seem too long.
what is her relevance to anything?

House Republicans are announcing they're leaving office at a significantly faster rate than any other recent Congresses
The link even has a nice little graphic for those incapable of reading the news.
Every Rosey I know in a blue collar job or a blue collar community supports Trump to a greater degree than the men do. Not a one of the women you named have done a blue collar day’s work in their life.
Yes the time for kabuki is over, time to put up or ship out.
House Republicans are leaving office, but their constituents remain.
We can do it! With a little help from The Officials.
Oxford University extends time for maths and computer science exams in bid to help women get better grades
Hoped change will reduce 'effects of time pressure', thought to impact women
Seven female maths finalists achieved firsts last year compared with 45 men**
Proposals called 'sexist' by some claiming it suggested women were 'weaker sex
++
** Of the 26 percent that proceeded to the doctoral level, men entered math-intensive fields at five times the rate of women, and 5 is a completely different number than 6.4.
@ARM: Have you seen any reliable predictions of how many “resigned” seats will automatically transfer to the Pro-Hillary camp? Dems are vulnerable too.
I think the House is now in the toss-up category. While the Senate remains lean Republican. It is too early for analysis of single seats because it will depend on who runs but generally losing an incumbent is good for the other party. Again, the opposition is doing its job reasonably effectively at the moment. Not perfectly, but less stupidly than I had anticipated.
People will get rid of Republicans that don't back Trump's agenda and will replace them with Republicans that do. Traitorous Democrats aren't even in the discussion.
Has anyone figured WTF they are protesting about? I certainly am much more inclined to support women's issues now that I know they are so intelligent.
For once a Trump tweet I like.
"Beautiful weather all over our great country, a perfect day for all Women to March. Get out there now to celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success and wealth creation that has taken place over the last 12 months. Lowest female unemployment in 18 years!"
Still waiting for someone to explain to me the difference between Fadcism and progressivism.
Including the use of physical violence to stifle political disagreement.
Still waiting for Arm or inga to condemn the use of physical violence to stifle political disagreement
John Henry
I'd like to see some of those effete upper class ladies drive a rivet.
Missed opportunity here: in the original Rosie poster without Trump's face, she is giving the Italian Salute. Bafangool !
I have to agree with ARM.
The opposition party is doing well.
They oppose fiscal and financial health for Americans.
They oppose the current population and wish to exchange this polity for anotger.
Democrats are doing well by opposing Americans.
Meanwhile, the “blue wave” seems to be faltering a little in the polls, and traditionally, the Democrats need a very large lead in generic ballot preference to convert to a win.
I'm still Not Fonda Jane.
The Left...What a bunch of haters.
Nothing says grass roots activism like Jane Fonda and Gloria Allred at Sundance!
But don't forget, love trumps hate.
Jane Fonda is a disgusting human being.
Gloria Allred paid women to makeup allegations against trump. She is also a soulless piece of shit.
Naturally they are heroes of democrats.
ARM: "The link even has a nice little graphic for those incapable of reading the news."
What a pretentious, condescending little twat you are.
ARM is so much smarter than everyone else and owns the market on morality.
Why do we bother considering other opinions? He is the oracle of truth and enlightenment.

The Movement wishes them to be poor and unmarried with children, and pissed off about it. And quite a few of them fit the bill. But by no means all.
Agree that Trumps numbers have not changed with over 90% negative coverage of him.
On being ineffective, disagree:
1. Trumps numbers would be much higher if not for the attacks
2. There is a backlash due to the negative coverage as shown in the media’s credibility / being seen as non partisan / truthful
3. The left keeps on ramping up the anti Trump stuff. Russian investigation, sexist, racist, anti Semitic, dementia, etc. as these attacks are proven false / ineffective , it provides some immunity to Trump.
Given that democrats support using the government to spy on political opponents we can just assume they are enemies of freedom and generally awful people.
Imagine any of those "We Can Do It" posters with Obama's head in place of Trump's.
CNN & MSNBC would be in outrage mode for an entire week over it. "Republicans in Murderous Racist Rage!" sez Wolf Blitzer.
The unambiguous violence and hate. The unmitigated hate and violence.
tu es foutu
tu-tu-tu...
Still waiting for Arm or inga to condemn the use of physical violence to stifle political disagreement
@Darkisland, ARM is only opposed to violence when he can interpret a comment as proposing violence against himself. Otherwise he thinks it’s cool.
Snarling bitches, one and all.
They deserve their misery.
tu es foutu
Si tu n'es pas foutu, va te faire foutre.
This is just a venue for the ongoing propaganda campaign.
These things are effective.
What counts is persistence and volume, and that side of politics certainly has the power (funding, control of careers/institutions) to an overwhelming degree, which are what it needs to conduct such a campaign.
The pro-Trump side, or rather the anti-system side, are in the position of insurrectionists fighting as guerillas. They are very much the underdogs, the oppressed social classes in this conflict, in spite of the disingenuous rhetoric of the master-class - Jane Fonda is a case in point.
Its difficult to drive Trumps numbers down much lower, there is a core to his support which his opponents will find irreconcilable, because of course this is an existential struggle; it is perfectly well understood that the anti-Trump side wishes to exterminate that 43-ish%, with a Tutsi-Hutu level of enmity.
But the campaign, as Ray says, serves well enough by keeping things as they are.
Sadly buwaya,
I think you are correct.
P.S. Autocorrect does not like your name.
I AM WOMAN WATCH ME VIOLATE YOUR COPYRIGHT.
What the Jane Fonda's of the world cannot tolerate is that PDT doesn't take them seriously and doesn't care what they think. Their self-esteem is based on the idea that they are very serious and we all should care. But they're not, and we don't.
The reason that the President's party normally does poorly in the first mid-term election is that in the Presidential election year the President's coat tails helped some weak candidates of his party, and absent the coat tails, some of those candidates will lose. I don't know how many such coat tails candidates Trump helped, and I haven't seen any discussion of that. In some mid-term elections, like 1994, the non-Presidential party succeeded in making the Congressional elections a referendum on the President's performance. Obviously, the Democrats hope that 2018 will be like 1994, except in reverse. Maybe. But usually Congressional races are won and lost locally. We'll see.
Jane Fonda the traitor needs to STFU. We have not forgotten.
Other than perhaps Meryl Streep(D) - is there a bigger asshole in Hillarywoodland that Jane Fonda(D)?
Fonda is a traitor. Screw you Jane.
We are not Fonda Jane.
The "woman's movement" has become a Cult of Cunts.
They despise everyone because where they should have the power of a cock they are Void, and that is just Not Fair.
Back in the spring of 2009, it was clear to me that Obama's was our first Cunt Presidency, because not all cunts are ladies, and he had all the sideways bitch behavior. It was historic and in many ways, made our first woman president somew
how satisfied.
I am pretty sure I recorded some of that observation on Althouse somewhere over that tedious era.
Anyway, the wave of this Worst Women's Movement Ever continues, kudos to every brave Man and woman who calls these authoritarian Supremacysts out.
Jane Fonda the traitor needs to STFU. We have not forgotten.
My Mom could never figure out why her Fonda workout tapes kept disappearing...even though she knew how much I detested her, and that we had a fire pit in the back yard.
Still waiting for someone to explain to me the difference between Fadcism and progressivism.
Fascism is about nationalism and being patriotic. Progressives are internationalists like the Communists are.
Buwaya,
We both live in the Bay Area.
Last year, the Pussyhat Parade meant I was the ONLY female customer at the Farmers' Market. This year, my liberal-but-hinged Pilates coach bitched that it cut into her Saturday morning class attendance, but it looks like the numbers weren't anywhere near as big as last year.
What these ladies are going to do is make the blue areas actively bluer, which won't mean diddlysquat for disputed elections and nothing for the Electoral College.
So I'm not quite as pessimistic as you, since I think their tactics aren't on target.
Also, I've been watching the Long March through the institutions for 40 years, with DrZ providing dire Cassandra commentary to any who would listen. 2016 was the first time I dared hope we might be able to fight back, as the Army of Davids (which turned out to be an Army of Trolls) got organized behind Trump.
So far, we've done better than I'd hoped. And Brexit, Poland and the Visegrad 4 means there's hope for Europe. Canada, France and Germany, on the other hand....
