"The comedian, who has acknowledged sexual misconduct, was dubbed out of 'Gravity Falls' episodes," HuffPo reports.
Wow. It's hard to believe this was ever considered okay:
It's awful what we expose kids to. How could that ever have been a Disney cartoon (quite aside from what we may know or believe Louis C.K. does in his off time)?

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed --if all records told the same tale -- then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past,' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.' And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. 'Reality control', they called it: in Newspeak, 'doublethink'.

They still consider it okay. It's only the actor they don't -- the guy off-screen. But the cartoon is still more than okay, since they are taking steps to be able to show it without the actor.
I don't see what's so bad about his lines in that cartoon. You think kids watching that would be aware of the possible sexual connotations? Come on. Adults wouldn't even think of it if Louis C.K.'s weird sexual fetish hadn't been exposed.
"Let the filthy become more filthy and let pthe righteous become more righteous. " that is a Revelations verse about happenings in the last days. It implies that final judgement requires an easy identification of those being judged rather than all being half good and half evil.
Walt Disney and friends has never been on the side of the good.
Would it kill C.K. to just say "Fee, Fie, Fo, Fum"? I'm old school when it comes to giants.
I hated the Teletubbies and Barney until I had kids and realized that they wouldn't see anything bad on those shows.
Most of the others ranged from stupid (Sponge Bob) to subversive (Dora) to outright horrible (South Park).
The Magic School Bus grated on me, but that was more because of the physical/emotional violence I experienced during school....

I miss PeeWee's Playhouse.
Our animated show of choice is Adventure Time. We tried Gravity Falls but it wasn't weird enough.
But then I have a daughter who despises Walt Disney for ruining Mary Poppins and wants to remake Cinderella with the stepsisters actually cutting off their heels.
I've been reading them Italo Calvino's Italian Folktales since they were little.
It's awful what we expose kids to.
Tell me again, who is this "we" you reference. There is a good reason we got rid of television 15 yrs ago.
Sponge Bob is pretty good. Its like a PG Wodehouse story. It's a world where all the evil and darkness has been banished. That's a neat trick. Try to think of a plausible world without the evil and darkness.
Why did he have the job in the first place?

There's a great quote somewhere about furnishing a child's imagination with high quality art and literature, certainly meant to apply to media generally and probably written by Charlotte Mason. I'm trying to find it but haven't succeeded yet.
I don't think this horrible cartoon would have made the cut.
Ha!
THAT is funny in light of his real life actions.
Just picturing the writers when they heard about CK's err..displays.
At least he didn't say "Come in my mouth"
It is a Disney XD show. That network is aimed at teens and pre-teens.
Gravity Falls is a great series. That particular clip, out of context, is horrifying, but that particular story arc (which was about the end of the world being brought about by evil inter-dimensional beings -- well, one in particular) was a fitting end to the series. It was a solid mix of family/friends/love/responsibility, humor, and weirdness. There were well-developed characters, real peril, and consequences for doing the wrong things.
I think it's ridiculous that they overdubbed this particular voice part. No one connected that character to real-life Louis CK, and any one who would -- honi soit qui mal y pense, you know? It's decidedly NOT a metaphor for anything, it's the world ending by weirdness.
I got to binge watch Gravity Falls. Only seen a few episodes.
I believe kids should be limited to the Hallmark channel
rather than Lovecraft lite

There was a time when you could trust Disney. Oh, sure, NOW we say that you could trust Disney to include stuff that we NOW consider racist or sexist, but those weren't issues back in the day. You could trust a Disney movie to be clean and uplifting and not excessively violent, i.e., child-friendly. Has that changed? I don't think that the character in the clip was particularly scary -- not compared to a witch who lured children to her gingerbread house in order to eat them, or a giant who wanted the blood of Englishmen, or a wolf who swallowed a little girl whole. My beef (I have three granddaughters) is with the TV shows from Disney in which all the parents and parent-figures are fools or worse. I think that the Nelsons and the Father Knows Best families were better for raising good children. Grump, grump, old fart.
Not surprising. Which Pirates of the Caribbean movie as it, that started with a scene of them hanging pirates? If you recall, the lineup of prisoners included a boy pirate, at best around 11-years-old. I thought Disney could not possibly include hi, in the execution. This was a child’s film, right? And then the British soldier, realizing he was too short to reach the noose, got him a bucket to stand on. And hike you did not see the actual execution, Disney left implied that the boy was hung.
A friend of mine once hypothesized that if there is an underground studio for the production and distribution of child pornographers, it would belong to Disney, given their resources and reach.
If you want to see an awful, morally reprehensible holiday movie, try Eight Days of Hanukah by Adam Sandler, who ironically also wrote the charming and beloved Hanukah Song.
Which Pirates of the Caribbean movie as it, that started with a scene of them hanging pirates?
That was the second movie, and straight up dishonest commentary on Bush. The first one was pretty good, kind of like Justin Beeber’s career, after that...
Disney left implied that the boy was hung.
I assume you meant to say “hanged” because if they were saying the boy was “hung,” well, there is some real child pornography.

Are you kidding? Ever read a fairy tale? They've been made to be horrifying for centuries at least - if not longer. I guess we'll have to safely protect you from the knowledge of how traditional societies conduct their initiation rites/coming-of-age ceremonies too, now. Why bother being such a shill for the conservatives if you can't appreciate their love of harshness and contempt for the way society always seems to become more and more "soft?"
Oh well, at least they still have their capitalistic hatred for the homeless, the poor and the uninsured. They can still indulge their primitive, vengeful and violent impulses that way. Just not in what kids are exposed to, I guess.
Why did he have the job in the first place?
