ADDED: This comes the same day as a new revelation, published in The Detroit News:
Elisa Grubbs, who said she worked for Conyers from 2001-13, claims she also witnessed him touching and stroking the legs and buttocks of Marion Brown, Grubbs’ cousin, and other female employees of the congressman on “multiple occasions.”
“When Rep. Conyers would inappropriately touched me like this, my eyes would pop out and I would be stunned in disbelief,” Grubbs wrote in an affidavit posted on Twitter by Brown’s attorney, Lisa Bloom....
Grubbs said Conyers referred to her and Brown as “Big Girl Cousins” and would often say, “Those are some big girls.”

Last ditch effort to beat Roy Moore.
Agree - interesting timing.
And Romney had his comment about Moore, how electing him would taint the Republican party.
I guess Al Franken ain't going anywhere.
Credit to Conyers for giving up and walking away.
Guess he's not as much of an icon as Bill Clinton or Al Franken after all.
And his son will fill in until his grand-nephew can run for the office. Dynasty.
Setting up a primary contest between Conyers' great-nephew (state Sen. Ian Conyers) and his son, John Conyers III.
Can't make this stuff up. I'm not sure if convicted felon Monica Conyers is barred from running now that she is out of prison.
Thank God, the son is available to take up the office of his father and continue that family's crackerjack contributions to public service. There's also a grandnephew. The people there are indeed blessed to have such choices.
I wonder if the Conyers family will be ridiculed in precincts other than these?
Good! No more Conyers family members in that seat, hopefully.
No amount of corruption bothered the Democrats. Abuse of the IRS by demanding, and getting from Lois Lerner information from True the Vote, using IRS powers. That's all cool. Abuse of his seat on the committee that was investigating HIM, BTW, to try to turn the investigation into a clown show? None of that bothered dear old "good government" Inga and her like.
None of the corruption bothered them at all. But let him step on their narrative to remove Trump? He's roadkill.
This is so unfair. Nancy Pelosi told us just last week that he deserved due process. Rep. Clyburn told us just last week that the women accusers were just like the old southern female racists falsely accusing black men of rape.
Question: which "civil rights" "icons" would pass the purity test imposed by today's sexual harassment witch hunt? Maybe Bayard Rustin, off the hook as a gay socialist. Anyone else?
No more Conyers family members in that seat, hopefully.
Sure Inga, because that's how corrupt Democrat politics work. Keep hope alive!
No loss.
Inga: "Good! No more Conyers family members in that seat, hopefully"
Lol
You know perfectly well Conyers son is getting that seat. Gotta keep the political leverage for payoffs.
Lets call it The Conyers Global Initiative!
Plus good old John The Icon, who abused women for 4 decades with full knowledge and enabling by all the Ingas on the left, gets to have all his cash as well!
#principledLefties!
Jon Conyers "legacy" is the current state of the City of Detroit.
I would trade Roy Moore for John Conyers, Al Franken, the next season of House of Cards without Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein's bathrobe and 6 potted plants.
On second thought, maybe I wouldn't.
Usually Inga is all over every new development on the Mueller probe, but she was nowhere to be seen on that thread.... Weird. But here she is cheering on "The Conyers is dead! Long live the Conyers!"
Since the real problem is that they all knew, staff, bureaucrats, media with access, besides politicians, about everything that is dribbling out to the public, and with much more to come, probably, then the only solution with any ethical weight is for all of them to resign immediately and perform some painful penance.
Until then all the posturing is fake, and quite as sinful as all the instances of misbehavior.
Moore, not being implicated in the Washington milieu, despite whatever sins he may have committed, is no more corrupt than any of the characters already ensconced there.
And ditto Conyers.
The only ethical outcome is all of them out. Anything else is game-playing.
This is a good moment for another womens march with pussy hats.
Of course, the last one was thoroughly corrupt. Its leaders, organizers and celebrity participants not only knew, therefore were compromised to start, but were entirely hypocritical in accusing others of things already blackening their souls.
The DNC is having trouble crafting talking points in regards to Strzok. I am guessing the texts that finally got him canned by Mueller were particularly bad.
march with pussy hats
Feminist march? Yes, but do the Slut Walk. Nothing divides women, and brings men to the cause, like women displaying their wares. Eyes up here. Eyes down there. So confused.

This is completely disingenuous. Nobody believes you care at all about anything other than keeping these scandals from costing you power over other people.
The aristocracy is just purging tools that are no longer useful. They knew about this crap for decades and hid it from the people. They care about nothing but power. The people who voted for them are amoral.
No more Conyers family members in that seat, hopefully.
When a Democratic icon leaves office after a long career of public service and sexual assault, that office should be off-limits to any family member of his (except his wife obvi).
In the back of my head I hear Freddie Mercury singing "...and another one bites the dust.."
So they'll replace him with his son. Meet the new crook, same as the old crook.
Did Roy Moore just remember that he didn't know two women? He seemed earlier to acknowledge he remembered them. Now he has remembered that he doesn't remember them. I used to remember her but now I remember I never met her.
Wow.

Do they need to be, though? We know Lois Lerner was passing around NYT editorials and essentially saying, to her employees, "we've got to do something about this!"
No one wants to talk about the very-real problem of a partisan bureaucracy...but in real terms it's probably one of the most dangerous aspects of State power as most individuals experience it.

Jon Conyers "legacy" is the current state of the City of Detroit.
Detroit is steadily unwinding many of those things.
1. The majority-black city has twice elected (including on a write-in ballot the first time) a strong-reformist WHITE mayor.
2. The city has excoriated a large handful of miscreants, including Conyers' felon wife (a former worker on his congressional staff), the felon ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, the out-of-wedlock son of long-time mayor Coleman Young (a young man named Joel Loving, who as an adult changed his name to "Coleman A. Young II,") the former Motown star and onetime councilperson Martha Reeves, and a bunch of other drunks, drug users, gun-wielders, etc. They are all out. The city has a new charter, and a structurally balanced budget under a financial oversight board.
3. Conyers had been a political dinosaur facing extinction for his last two elections at least.
I'll bet that a Conyers will not succeed the current "Dean." There are a small group of progressives who have real political talent in Detroit, thanks to Michigan's constitutional term limits on state legislators. Folks who served in the state house and who were termed-out.

Nobody believes that one day you won’t strap on a suicide vest and walk into a DNC meeting.
I just saw this about five minutes ago. It was news to me. So I go over to the Washington Post to read about it. The story is nowhere to be found on their front webpage.
Has anyone called for Blake Farenthold’s resignation yet?

Don't be silly, Inga, they have drones now.
