As an Oberlin grad, maybe he felt like they needed killing.
Kinda like Antifa, "If I have to put Richard Spencer or Nathan Damigo into the hospital critically, and it would have saved Heather Heyer’s life or the next potential Heather Heyer, I would do it without question.”
So this happened, not in a trailer park in Kentucky, but in Groton, MA, home of one of the country's most exclusive private schools. The story didn't say what the murder weapon was. I hope it wasn't a gun. Murdering someone with a gun is so much worse than murdering someone with a baseball bat or ice pick. At least that's what my betters tell me.
Greg Hlatky: Interesting story about Latham. An example of the violence in same-sex couples that will never be the subject of an academic study."
OT, but a friend of mine who is an ER nurse says they treat many gay men who have been beaten to a pulp by their boyfriends. It makes sense to me. Lover's spats can get quite heated but most straight Americans men have been culturally conditioned to never hit a woman. That taboo isn't present with a gay couple. Lesbians also beat each other up quite a bit. Both gay men and lesbians are reluctant to press charges, so the abusers get away with it.
However, two professors ganging up on the lover of one of them and stabbing him 70 times obviously goes way beyond run-of-the-mill domestic abuse. And, as Michael K. points out, the really scary thing was that a murderous sociopath discovered how to make a deadly virus airborne.

Well, and there's an uglier reason why straight couples' spats don't get quite so destructive. Because of the differences in body strength between men & women, when the man lands a blow, the woman's pretty much down for the count. If, however, you get two male gym-rats going at each other, by the time one of them is down, the apartment will be in shambles.
A divorced lady arrives home from a bar Guess, guess what she sees, sees there There's a naked person in my flat He's got a weird expression on his face
Oh, my God and Jesus as well What are you doing here? Are you hurting your chest? Offending yourself?
Forcing yourself into pain and sorrow like there's no tomorrow Should use the pain and sorrow To fill you up with power Life's both sweet and sour
He looks at me hopeless with tears in his eyes Goes out of the window and up on the roof Naked man, naked man, come down I'll, I'll give you some strawberry cake
Don't act like there's no tomorrow You should use the pain and the sorrow To fill you up with power Life's both sweet and sour
Don't act Don't act Don't act, act Like there's no tomorrow So you should use the pain and sorrow To fill you up with power Life's both sweet and sour
I came across this story through the local news: Groton is two towns over from us. My HS daughter has a side business shooting Senior pictures and often does the photo shoot at locations there, since it is so pretty. I am fairly familiar with the area since I run a 10k there every spring. It is also where the Groton School and Laurence Academy are located.

Oberlin graduate. No coping skills.
Orion.. hmm I'm certain he had a normal upbringing
This is far less important a crime story than Wyndam Latham.
There is a monster.
@rhhardin, OMG you're right! According to the Boston Globe Krause really is a 2017 Oberlin graduate. Not quite prepared for the real world, was he?
Interesting story about Latham. An example of the violence in same-sex couples that will never be the subject of an academic study.
Naturally there's the guild solidarity of colleagues "attesting to his client’s character and professional achievements."
Not just Oberlin, but the Conservatory. Artistic temperament strikes again.
"An example of the violence in same-sex couples that will never be the subject of an academic study."
The really important part is that he has been researching the virulence of the plague organism and has discovered how to make it airborne.
I just hope he never gets out of jail. The anthrax thing in 2001 was child's play in comparison.

I know of a more fitting pill he should be given and save us taxpayer money.
Let me guess, he's one of those nice quiet guys that no one noticed.
We should ask Clooney if he submitted any scripts to Hollywood.

The French government refused to give him a security clearance to work there. I wonder what they had on him.
If only we had stiffer gun control.
Oh. wait.
4 all by himself. Imagine what he could accomplish with a little rest and some help.

Can you imagine sitting at home and having that guy come to your door? How awful!
@exile,

I have sewn up so many gays after battles it's a story I try to forget.
Fist fucking is the worst.
exiledonmainstreet,
If we're talking Yersinia pestis, I'm pretty sure that's a bacterium, not a virus. Still, this dude shouldn't be anywhere near bubonic plague.
Another reason why it's always best to have some strawberry cake on hand.
Fucking In Rhythm & Sorrow
A divorced lady arrives home from a bar
Guess, guess what she sees, sees there
There's a naked person in my flat
He's got a weird expression on his face
Oh, my God and Jesus as well
What are you doing here?
Are you hurting your chest?
Offending yourself?
Forcing yourself into pain and sorrow like there's no tomorrow
Should use the pain and sorrow
To fill you up with power
Life's both sweet and sour
He looks at me hopeless with tears in his eyes
Goes out of the window and up on the roof
Naked man, naked man, come down
I'll, I'll give you some strawberry cake
Don't act like there's no tomorrow
You should use the pain and the sorrow
To fill you up with power
Life's both sweet and sour
Don't act
Don't act
Don't act, act
Like there's no tomorrow
So you should use the pain and sorrow
To fill you up with power
Life's both sweet and sour
"I'm pretty sure that's a bacterium, not a virus."
Yes it is but "virus" is Latin for poison so I try not to get too obsessed about it.
"Fist fucking gone wrong!"
Who'da thunk?
I need my sleeping pills.
Give him the whole bottle and save everyone some trouble.
