I know someone who was at the Smoke On The Water fire.
The fire was interesting.
Concerts/festivals where you are jammed among 30,000 of your closest friends and can only see the acts by looking at a Jumbotron are not.
Not to mention the quality of the music.
But I was THERE man....
I saw Burning Stage Inferno open for Kid Rock at the Grandview Amphitheater in 2007.

Isn't it funny how utopia always ends up looking like Detroit?....and doesn't Disneyland own the Tomorrowland brand?
Maybe Spain can combine that event with the running of the bulls?

Dunno. She - in some sort of high school in Geneva - said people were shooting bottle rocket(s), tho that article says a flare gun.
Presumably if you film in landscape mode, time and events move sideways instead of forward and backward as in portrait.
It's good that they evacuated the area without panic. My first thought upon seeing that fire would have been ferrorist attack and my exit would not have been orderly.
Why doesn't YouTube offer a format that lets you upload in portrait format, so that it's displayed as large as a video in landscape and is framed without black bars at the sides.
When you take still photographs, you turn the camera either way, and if you upload them to, say, Flickr, you can then embed them in a frame with no black bars and in exactly the same size.
Why doesn't YouTube make that possible rather than making people look stupid for choosing to frame video that way? It's not a movie theater or a television!

This entails cutting off content from the top and bottom. TV stations face this problem when showing videos submitted by viewers. They had a similar problem fitting wide-screen movies onto the old 4:3 TV format. The choice was either letterbox (bars at top and bottom) or pan-and-scan, neither satisfactory.

I think she meant: show the video at its original size and orientation in a vertical window, as with still photographs, rather than fitting it to a horizontal window for no apparent reason.
Google generates a surprising amount of fairly crappy software.
Yes, as I said in my comment, I'm not talking about TV screens and movie screens, which are a particular aspect. I'm talking about a frame within an internet page. It could be programmed to accept the vertical aspect, just as still photos can be displayed however they are shot.
