“We talk a lot, pretty much all day long,” Priebus said. “And then we communicate at night —”
“Until we fall asleep,” Bannon interjected with a laugh.
Priebus cut in, “Until somebody falls asleep … You fell asleep last night.”
“I did,” Bannon said.
“I think, like, a quarter to 11,” Priebus added.
“I did,” Bannon said.
“He became unresponsive,” Priebus laughed.

Being aggressive is exhausting.
I won't believe it until I see them riding a tandem bike through the park while wearing matching outfits.
“It’s very easy to write the gossipy stuff,” he said, mocking the media for reading into Priebus’s Republican National Committee background, or casting himself and Stephen Miller as “wild men” and people “who are crazy.”
...Bannon got involved in populist right-wing media, taking control of Breitbart News after the death of its founder, Andrew Breitbart. He labeled it “the platform for the alt-right” in an interview last year. The alt-right, a broad label for the fringe far-right (including outright racists and anti-Semites), is at the forefront of the outsider hordes that are overrunning the conservative Establishment — that is, the political culture that produced Priebus, two-time chairman of the RNC.
That didn't take long.
Polls are moving solidly toward the trump administration. Watch as the panic sets in.
Amusing on several levels. Rather juvenile, if nothing else!
My only concern about Reince is that he might skew Trump toward the GOPe.
Meanwhile the confirmation of Jeff Session as AG turned Chuck Schumer's stomach.

OK, that's weird.
I think it's funny that they're pushing this best buddies meme now though. The massive amounts of leaking from the White House paints a different picture.
Polls are moving solidly toward the trump administration. Watch as the panic sets in.
The polls will be ignored or we'll be reminded how shitty the polling is.
Any negative polls are fake news, don't forget.
Headline: "Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus Want You to Know They Are Friends"
Ace over at Ace of Spades used to describe Obama's petulant approach to policy debate as his "mean girl" style. At least the author of this NY Mag article is a woman.
If Trump's style is "male bully," and it pretty much is, the left's "mean girl."
Or, the polls could still be consistent in understating Trump's support. Especially since all the violence, organized boycotts and risk is being directed at Trump supporters
Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus Want You to Know They Are Friends
Actually, this NY Mag headline could have served as the subject line of an email from the Hillary campaign to one of their obedient mainstream reporters: "Robby Mook and John Podesta want you to know they are friends"
Body of email: "Can you contact us for joint interview? You'll get exclusive access. HRC woudl appreciate"
REPLY: "Sure. When is a good time? How did the PA visit go? Did you get to try that steakhouse I recommended??"
Meanwhile the confirmation of Jeff Session as AG turned Chuck Schumer's stomach.
Schumer turns my stomach.
I didn't read this and think they are best buddies, I read this and thought they argue all day long over the right approach before either one side gives in or exhaustion sets in, then they communicate whatever strategy comes out of it.
And that they appreciate each other's intelligence.
I've worked with plenty of folks like this. Maybe they are faking it, but maybe they enjoy the intellectual challenge as well.
Meanwhile the confirmation of Jeff Session as AG turned Chuck Schumer's stomach.
The quantity of these Trump induced stay home from school ailments is blunting their effectiveness. How about upping your games a bit lefties? At least an ulcer requiring an ER visit.
They certainly know they are not going to get a fair shake from NYMag. So I hope they are doing all they can to mess with the mind of that writer. It sounds to me as if they are doing that. Especially when Priebus says “It’s all phony-baloney garbage that doesn’t exist and I hope that you can clear that up in the article,” Priebus knows that NYMag is not going to give him a hand or help him to "clear up" anything at all. I hear this conversation as Priebus and Bannon having a good time sticking it to the writer who is looking for dirt.

That link is a nice example/summary of the prog mush-minded bullshit that has dominated and suffocated political discourse in this country for lo these many decades.
tfw you realize they're not just lying cynical pols talking lying moronic bullshit because that's what pols do: they really are that crazy and that stupid.
"Meanwhile the confirmation of Jeff Session as AG turned Chuck Schumer's stomach."
See, this is what happens if you can't see them as they are. These are machines, they haven't got stomachs to turn.
Way too many people here insist on seeing these guys as people. They aren't really people, as you understand people. There is nothing genuine in these characters. Everything has to be assumed to be a pretense. Things that aren't purely a mask are likely to be disastrous mistakes, like Hastert's or Bill Clinton's.
How nice pillow talk between buds on the coming apocalypse.
Whoosh! Kellyanne Conway being thrown under the bus. "She has been counceled" for saying basically the same thing Trump tweeted on the White House account regarding Ivanka and Nordstrom's.
Meanwhile Kellyann gives Ivanka's clothes millions of dollars in free PR on CNN, MSNBC ABC, NBC and CBS. What a day. Now if the braintrust can only get Gorsuch to comment on Ivanka's line. There is no such thing as bad PR.
I'm waiting for somebody to hate Trump so much they develop bleeding hemorrhoids. I had been saving these for myself if Hillary had been elected.
“If you read between the lines in some of the anonymous quotes,” Dan Pfeiffer, a former senior adviser to President Obama, said, “it’s clear that Bannon, [Jared] Kushner, and Priebus are spending half their time blaming each other and the other half ensuring they don’t get the blame.”
Translated: I know nothing about these people or the dynamics between them but I want them to fail and so do you [reporter]. There for I'll give you something so you can use quotation marks and we'll pretend its fact. Ok....go....

How many more until an alien bursts out of his chest hissing and running about the DNC and tearing Donks apart?
Remember poor John Hurt - it starts with a coughing fit, then the end comes quickly.
Wow. The author Olivia Nuzzi gets lazy and gossipy at the end of the article just like Bannon said is the MO of the media only a few paragraphs up.
Bannon dismissed the entire theory as a manifestation of media myopia and incuriosity. “The opposition party” — meaning the press, not the Democrats — “has to have …” He paused. “Since they’re too dumb and too lazy to actually do any work, um — am I over my skis here right now?” he asked Priebus.
Then she moved right into the gossipy laziness:
“He hates that,” one source close to the president said. “The way to kill somebody in the Trump orbit is to say to him, Oh, this guy’s your brain! He’s calling the shots! You’re just a fucker who does what he says! That’s the surest way to kill somebody, even if that somebody is doing a really good job.”
That paragraph sound about as well written and sourced as a tabloid.

The leaking that the media reports paints a pre-defined narrative. Trump is crazy. Mentally unstable. Not Normal...
You have no idea what is true and what is not, especially the full context of the situation. I think the leaks regarding the phone call with Mexico and Australia were the best example.
Trump did not threaten to invade Mexico, but he did probably turn the screw. Who runs your country? The gov't or the cartels? Need some help, cause we're sick of the drugs pouring over our border.
Bannon needs to go!

We don't give a shit.
Plus Ivanka is smoking hot...
To understand Bannon, you have to read this article.
There is much stuff and nonsense said about Steve Bannon, particularly after Andrew’s untimely death, when Bannon became executive chairman. They say he has taken Breitbart News far from Andrew’s vision. It should be known that Breitbart is run by Andrew’s childhood best friend and his longtime business partner Larry Solov. The editorial staff is helmed by Andrew’s first employee Alexander Marlow. Andrew’s widow is still involved as is Joel Pollack, a kippah-wearing Orthodox Jew. There has not been some great disconnect from Breitbart’s death to the present day.
Bannon came onto the scene as a documentary filmmaker. He came out of investment banking where, among other things, he handled the sale of Castle Rock Entertainment and instead of taking a fee, took a piece of a series then in pilot called Seinfeld. Bannon and Breitbart made films together including the remarkable Occupy Unmasked that explains who is behind the masked rioters who are even now burning American cities. Bannon became a partner in Breitbart News, bringing cash, vision, and drive.

There are some people so stupid you wonder how they remember to breathe.
Gusty, you're simply repeating the Trumpist narrative. All one has to do is observe a Trumps bizzare behavior for themselves to see that that the reports of his instability are probably true.
Michael K,
There at some people who have their heads so far up Trump's ass they can't see daylight.
"We don't give a shit."
That's because you're stupid.
I suspect you will give at least one shit if these violations cause Trump to be impeached one day.

Yep, this is a law lefties love nowadays. Speech restrictions!
Do you see any free speech issues here? Is there a problem with responding to a politically motivated attempt to damage the Presidents daughter's business? I would say there is. And Conway, as usual, is brave enough to say out loud what lefty intimidators would like her hold quiet.
Would a court agree with me? I have no idea. But I do know that once again the left is determined to silence it's opponents.

1) A Father defends his daughter - Normal
2) A President finally calls the media dishonest, biased, and corrupt - refreshing
3) A President states publicly what we all know; our courts are politicized-its about time
4) A Republican points out John McCain is full of shit - we've known this for a long time
5) A President refrains from saber rattling with Russia while Joe Scarborough declares war - sane
There is a great possibility he is the sanest person in Washington.
Sounds like a long lasting but slightly stale marriage. Yet they just got together three weeks ago.
I won't be happy until Schumer's stomach turns enough that he projectile vomits at one of his insufferable press conferences. It could happen. Stay tuned.
Free commercials for a certain product, from a member of the President's administration, is is not the same as free speech.
Hey, all you trolls. Pay attention. You might learn something from the pros.
So much Fake News, so little time to read.
If there was no violation from Conway, tell me why she was "counseled". Obviously someone recognized that she went too far. You people seem very uninformed.

"House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz says White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s promotion of Ivanka Trump’s fashion brand was “wrong, wrong, wrong, clearly over the line, unacceptable.”
The Republican congressman said the White House must refer the matter to the Office of Government Ethics for review. He said he and Democratic Oversight Leader Elijah Cummings are writing a letter to the office and he will also write to President Donald Trump about the matter.
“It needs to be dealt with,” he told The Associated Press. “There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it.”"
Don't mess with Kellyann. She was just reporting the facts as she knows them. Can you prove her wrong about Ivanka's line of women's clothes being the very best for a young working woman? Go ahead and try.
So tired of the media trying to force negative and unconvincing tendentious narratives on Trump. I'm not surprised that more Americans believe Trump than believe the LM (lying media).
Traditionalguy,
Who cares if Ivanka's line of clothing is terrific, I'm glad for her, but that's not the issue. Obfuscation won't cut it.
Better yet. The House Committee of Men sitting in judgment on women's clothes should schedule several days of live hearings showing Ivanka's clothes line one item at a time and see if that tongue tied Conway woman can think of anything to say in her defense.
Henrie...As you point out, Obfuscation will need lots of publicity to clear things up.
"The House Committee of Men sitting in judgment on women's clothes..."
Is Kellyanne Conway just a sack of clothing? Well... maybe.
Kellyanne is a target who has learned how to smile and fight back. Her attackers have a 100% loss ratio.
The old aphorism applies to her: Don't shoot the Kellyanne unless you are going to kill the Kellyanne.
"“It needs to be dealt with,” he told The Associated Press. “There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it.”"
Come on Henrie, or whatever your real name is. What is the going rate for leftist trolls ?
The world waits for the information.
"Don't shoot the Kellyanne unless you are going to kill the "Kellyanne".
Traditional Guy, tell that to Chaffetz and who ever "counceled" her. I encourage Kellyanne not to let anyone stop her from doing it again tomorrow and the next day and the next... if she lasts that long.
Henrie: "If there was no violation from Conway, tell me why she was "counseled". Obviously someone recognized that she went too far. You people seem very uninformed."
LOL
She was probably "counseled" to double-down.
And I just love that all these lefty reporters have so very many intimate leaking contacts in the Trump White House........Ha! Sorry. I couldn't complete that sentence without losing it.
Tell us more of what is happening behind the scenes Henrie! Please do!
It's blindingly obvious that the lefty media have no contacts in the inner circles and so just "wing it" like Glenn Thrush or simply "mail it in" like Disheveled Dana Milbank.
That's what makes it all so entertaining: watching what lies and memes so many lefties coalesce around since they have nothing real.
Henrie: "Traditional Guy, tell that to Chaffetz and who ever "counceled" her. I encourage Kellyanne not to let anyone stop her from doing it again tomorrow and the next day and the next... if she lasts that long"
LOL
This is the same crowd that insisted that Trump would never run, never make it to the first primary, never gain the nomination, never make it to the general election, never get elected, never....(insert next obvious milestone here)
Keep it up Henrie. When you're batting .000 there is nowhere to go but up!
Drago, you are very poorly informed.
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/318761-white-house-conway-has-been-counseled-after-plugging-ivanka-trumps
"Press secretary Sean Spicer said top aide Kellyanne Conway was "counseled" after she promoted Ivanka Trump's clothing line from the White House briefing room in a TV interview Thursday morning.
"Kellyanne has been counseled, and that's all we are going to go with," Spicer told reporters during his daily briefing.
"She's been counseled on the subject, and that's it."
White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders later told reporters the consultation occurred after Conway's interview.
Both she and Spicer declined to say who spoke to Conway or speak about the nature of that conversation."
Keep hope alive Henrie!
Trump can't possibly last the year!
Carry on!
"Trump can't possibly last the year!"
Quite possibly so. Thanks for confirming.
Kellyanne Conway telling people to go buy Ivanka's stuff is remarkable.
So is these stores dumping her line of products.
Merchants are of course free to mix politics with business, but I think it generally is a dumb move to offend half of your potential customers.
Personally, I will not allow anything Apple in my house, regardless of what merits their products might have, because the political content of their advertising offends me.
So, do they gain more by appealing to the "hipsters" than they lose by offending "old white men"?
It is their choice, but I do not like it.
"Drago, you are very poorly informed."
The funniest thing about the trolls is that they are so series in explaining how Trump couldn't possibly last a year, or win the election, or win the nomination.
They may really believe that which is even dumber than just regurgitating what they were told at the seminar.
These guys that call Rush Limbaugh and say they are "lifelong Republicans" then repeat some DNC talking point are almost as funny.
I would even be willing to chip in for the entertainment. The Facebook trolls are angrier and go for the obscenities earlier.
It was wrong for Conway to do an ad for Ivanka. Clear and simple. It's law. But mostly it was stupid since the Democrats line of attack when they try to impeach him is going to be on the Emoluments Clause.
That ethics "violation" by Conway seems like really weak sauce to me. That strikes me as Conway exercising her First Amendment right to comment on what looks like a politically motivated action by Nordstrom. No harm no foul I'd say, and I'll bet the "counselling" wasn't much more than that.
The media continuously moan about the lack of comity and bipartsanship in today's politics, but that bipartisanship was possible because while the Northern Republicans and Southern Democrats disagreed about segregation, they agreed about other things.
However, today, the progressive Democrats have done a remarkable job of alienating and forcing out of the party almost everyone who does not faithfully toe their line. In Congress, Joe Manchin and Jim Webb are the only ones left, and it is probably just a question of time before they switch parties.
OK, but these tactics create their own equal and opposite reaction.
And no, there is not going to be any impeachments because the majority party in the House either will not allow any, or, if it is in opposition, it will not have a 2/3 majority in the Senate, so any impeachment will fail on a partyline vote, regardless of the merits of the case.
"there is not going to be any impeachments because the majority party in the House either will not allow any,"
These lefties, even the ones who aren't trolls, have never studied Civics. They don't know.
They are just repeating stuff they hear.
Who keeps deleting my comments?
As usual, the MSM left out quite a bit of context Interview
"There is not going to be any impeachments because the majority party in the House either will not allow any"
There will plenty of impeachment talk in the next two years. Maine Waters x20. Democrats are on a death by 1000 cuts strategy. Since President Trump is moving so fast, and controlling the news cycle, the blows aren't drawing any blood. How long can he keep up this pace? Are they making him run or ride a bike daily? 12+ hour days can catch up to even a dedicated workaholic.
It would appear KAC didn't "use [her] official title or refer to [her] Government position" nor "any authority associated with his public office to endorse any product, service or enterprise" in the manner specified by the regulation. Nothing in the position of special advisor to the president would confer specific authority upon her with respect to women's fashion wear. And Example 4 below does not prohibit the endorsement, only the use of a government title in that endorsement.
Hillary Clinton, as Sec of State with respect to the CGI, is another matter, isn't it?
Blogger is god fucking awful!!!
Enough with the street signs, store fronts and deleted comments!!!!
Blogger keeps removing my excerpt of CFR 2635.702 for some reason.
Kerosene Maxine may call for the citizens to rise, like Marianne on the barricades, but they will remain in their trenches, eyeball to eyeball, but not leaping up to follow.
§ 2635.702 Use of public office for private gain.
An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations of which the employee is an officer or member, and persons with whom the employee has or seeks employment or business relations. The specific prohibitions set forth in paragraphs (a) through (d) of this section apply this general standard, but are not intended to be exclusive or to limit the application of this section.
(c) Endorsements. An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office to endorse any product, service or enterprise except:
(1) In furtherance of statutory authority to promote products, services or enterprises; or
(2) As a result of documentation of compliance with agency requirements or standards or as the result of recognition for achievement given under an agency program of recognition for accomplishment in support of the agency's mission.
Example 1:
A Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission may not appear in a television commercial in which she endorses an electrical appliance produced by her former employer, stating that it has been found by the CPSC to be safe for residential use.
Example 2:
A Foreign Commercial Service officer from the Department of Commerce is asked by a United States telecommunications company to meet with representatives of the Government of Spain, which is in the process of procuring telecommunications services and equipment. The company is bidding against five European companies and the statutory mission of the Department of Commerce includes assisting the export activities of U.S. companies. As part of his official duties, the Foreign Commercial Service officer may meet with Spanish officials and explain the advantages of procurement from the United States company.
Example 3:
The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency may sign a letter to an oil company indicating that its refining operations are in compliance with Federal air quality standards even though he knows that the company has routinely displayed letters of this type in television commercials portraying it as a “trustee of the environment for future generations.”
Example 4:
An Assistant Attorney General may not use his official title or refer to his Government position in a book jacket endorsement of a novel about organized crime written by an author whose work he admires. Nor may he do so in a book review published in a newspaper.
EDH - I think you are twisting pretty hard on the public office for public gain interpretation, but I'm not a lawyer and it will boil down to a big nothing burger anyway. Nice point about HRC though. The left is having a hard time attacking without obvious hipocracy.
Henrie: "Quite possibly so. Thanks for confirming."
LOL
Yep.
You have your confirmation! Run with it!
Well, they seem a jolly twosome. That's good, I guess.
