"... to who among the many men who gave speeches was the best dressed by far. We note the slightly unusual suit color choices made by two notable attendees, as well as the horrible way Donald Trump gets his suits cut and the shirt choices Bill Clinton makes that set him apart from most politicians. Then, it’s onto the ladies, from Melania’s scrunchie dress to Ivanka’s bold-faced money grab, to the semiotics behind Hillary’s white or Michelle’s choice of designer, to the sometimes slightly inappropriate celebrity style choices, everyone comes in for a little bit of discussion."
Tom and Lorenzo discuss convention fashion.

"Don't worry! We are very evenhanded! It's just that all the Republican women really deserve only criticism!"
Tom and Lorenzo do an even-handed job of discussing who lives up to liberals' fashion expectations? That's nice.
Dang it MayBee! You even had to beat me on word choice.
They sound extremely gay.
Hint: Trump wears larger suits to get over the extra thick body Armor that the Secret Service has him wear. Choices, choices...does he go perfect fit or try to beat the Assassination Teams.
They nailed Boy Ryan the innocent young teen that is our Speaker of the House...for now.
Just what the world does not need: The return of Mr. Blackwell.
This only helps Trump. Every shot at him, helps him. Keep it coming.
The classic satire of gays is, for example, interviewing a "gay" describing a perpetrator of some horrible public crime and hitting a long digression about what the perp was wearing, with just this commentary.
Actually, Hillary is the perpetrator of horrible public crimes, come to think of it.
Wonder what accounts the Clintons hide their fashion expenses at the Foundation?
Tom and Lorenzo for serious comments on unserious subject matter.
>Mac McConnell "Wonder what accounts the Clintons hide their fashion expenses at the Foundation?"
As I understand it, to be tax deductible as a business expense, clothing purchased as a work uniform must be work related (perhaps with a logo, or like steel toe shoes for safety), be required for work by the occupation, and be unusable as regular clothing or at least recognizable as a uniform when not working.
Hillary's clothes definitely fit the IRS requirements. I've never seen anyone else dressed like her.
Tom and Lorenzo for serious comments on unserious subject matter
It's what they find interesting, not what they find serious.
A straight guy doesn't have that interest. It baffles him that even women do.
I love T-Lo, but I decided not to read their convention recap. Most commenters on the site assume that shots at conservs are ok because T-Lo are gay, therefore they must lean left. Better for me to walk away (and miss some juicy fashion dish) than burst a gasket.
I love T-Lo, but I decided not to read their convention recap.
There's nothing to read, it's a podcast which isn't loading for me.
For the first time in her adult life Michelle Obama looked appropriately attired, and she was dressed by the winner of a reality TV show.
If you're not sure it's worth your while to click through and listen, it is...at least through the assessment of Joe Biden. Life if not worth living if you have not heard that.
I liked the Grifter's white suit, it was perfect for someone suffering from cankles and didn't look like the usual carpet she wears. Carpet, that's what the Foundation expenses.
Gays seem to like using fabulous to describe themselves without ever referencing which fable actually applies. I suggest The Mountain in Labor with a bit of The Mischievous Dog on the side.
She come a long way from circus pants.

Queen Hillary! had a specialist in clothes, another in make-up, and yet others (at least half a dozen) writing her speech. Then there was a media expert reviewing how the convention floor, balloons will look etc. All for the image of the Queen!
Is this what an everyday American woman can afford?
What is Queen signature policy accomplishment? This is as Ezra Klein said that the Queen is the Wonk of all Wonks. In DC, people make up titles, like Dean of Press, etc. Should titles be given w/o evidence?
Sad that Democrats did not support Sanders (my choice). Now I am voting for Jill Stein.
#NeverHillary and No more Clintons in the White House. I do not want another young woman to be assaulted or taken advantage of by the Clintons.
They find Hill's grandmotherly fashion choices "endearing." But who, besides lib gay commentators and other grannies in nursing homes, is endeared by them?
By the way, T-Lo, why, in all these decades of patriarchy, have men been so constrained in their fashion choices?
Maybe Freud wasn't wrong about everything.
Its funny how perfunctory the discussion of the men's fashion is, because what can you say?
T&L seems so happy that they could get on the subject they really want to discuss - the women.
And Angie Dickson should have said, "I undress for men, but I dress for women and Gays".
Most men just want a uniform. Something that's functional and looks good on them that they can wear over and over.
Most of them aren't into "variety". How many men ever say, "I get bored wearing the same old suit over and over again"?
Jeez, AP. Make up your mind.
Agree with Sebastian on their assessment of Hillary's usual "grandmotherly fashion choices." They are not endearing, and her outfits are neither traditional pantsuits nor women's business suits--I am usually reminded either of just a car coat (with coordinating slacks), or something Kim Jong Un might wear (were it in basic gray).
Maybe it's just me, but I have been struggling with gaining any understanding of how progressives can believe and vote the way they are doing. Perhaps in another time or in another country, but here and now?
Only because my wife wanted to see what these folks (I was going to say "guys", but...) had to say about Michelle's dress did I listen to this podcast. Not my cup of tea. However, the attitude of these podcasters about the conventions made me think of a group of beautiful people partying in the ballroom of the Titanic who would shout for Security to expel the idiot breaking into the party to scream about "icebergs or something".
"ISIS? Deficits? National debt? Someone call Security to get these Republican downers out of our wonderful country! Wasn't Hillary's speech "fabulous"? She's going to do everything for everybody all the time."
I think I am beginning to get how they are thinking - if that is the word for it.
I'm not big on noticing women's fashions but hasn't Hillary always favored bland, Mao suits?
Not only is she old, she was never good looking, so there's not much to highlight.
The thing that struck me in watching her speech was how smooth her neck was. We all get "turkey neck" as we get older and her's was as smooth as baby's bottom. I wonder how they did that.
I just listened to 3 minutes of her speech on Youtube. God she's awful. She is without a doubt the worst public speaker as POTUS candidate since Gerald Ford. That' hectoring voice, the complete lack of warmth and humor, the shrillness.
I don't look forward to having Nurse Rachet as President.
*"Ms. Meadows, Clinically Depressed Therapist"
Most of my patients dress in dark, drab, loose-fitting clothing. They are hiding from themselves, they are hiding from other people, they are hiding and they are chronically depressed, but they ARE accurate....
People who wear bright colors and stylish cuts are trying to mask their despair in peacock feathers, hoping people won't notice the Abyss behind their blank Chanel eyes: Fashion is Therapy for the Rich...
To afford the clothing is to say you have accomplished something in this world, but depression fits in Gucci Bags and in Dollar-Store Straw Purses. Choosing Fashion is to let another person put their chains on you: more expensive chains, yes, but they will drag you to the bottom of the ocean like any other...
So -- wear your exquisite heels: the inevitable Grave will not care about the shoes you wore as you walked inexorably towards it...
I am very drunk, but I will drive to the Liquor Store to get more alcohol. It's OK, I make the drive drunk all the time...
I am Laslo.
Sometimes I am not here to make you Happy.
I am Laslo.
It's true, Las. Nothing fappable from you in weeks!
Keep it up, Laslo. If you become boring and predictable, I will get a sad.
A man who devotes more than three minutes to the question what shall I wear lacks the essence of virility, and it is the lack of virility — not on battlefield, not yet at any rate — which is responsible for all the ills this society suffers. Virility consists of putting things in their proper place, in ones personal life, in business, and in government, and in that order.
I have many shades of socks; all started white but depending on age they've taken on lighter and darker hues of iron-in-the-water rust color.
This means it's not sufficient to grab three socks to match colors, as it does for owning black and white socks.
The other alternative is to pay no attention, because who really cares.
It can be fixed by starting with new socks all at once, so that they age together, but who throws away perfectly good socks.
Clothing is more of a mathematical problem than a style problem.
Maybe it's just me, but I have been struggling with gaining any understanding of how progressives can believe and vote the way they are doing.
LOLZ Talk about a hopeless quest.
I will only wear white briefs. I never wear socks unless I absolutely have too. Shorts? I gotta million of em. But my favorites are any Columbia or Field & Stream Omni shade shirts in any of a million colors. Still got all my hair and a few bucks. I can walk into any bar and well, it works. If you know what I mean.
T & Lo would not understand.
rhhardin: I have trained my two kids to present me with gold Toe Fluffy Charcoal Gray socks every year on my birthday and on Christmas. They are colorfast up to the point of holes being worn in them, upon which they are discarded, not darned, because hey, only a few months to half a dozen new pairs!
ONE COLOR. ONE STYLE. NO WORRIES. I RECOMMEND GOLD TOE FLUFFIES!
