Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there...

A couple of days ago I was letting the dogs run around in the juniper scrub, and the mean one started tracking a scent and took off with his nose to the ground. A minute later he came back followed by a Labrador puppy about 10 weeks old. I took the pup to the dog pound and the owner showed up at the same time and got a lecture from the nice pound ladies about not letting your dog run loose. "And there's big hawks out there!" said I, ungrammatically.

The End.

Althouse will come back from her lovely Sunday outing -- happy mothers' day -- to this...

You can't make this stuff up. Best wishes to all of the mothers this day. Because I totally respect all the mothers. There's nobody who respects the mothers as much as I do, and there is nobody who make things as good for the mothers as I will. Believe me. Nobody will do for the mothers what I will. It will make your head spin. Incredible.

Except for that mother Hillary. Crooked Hillary.

Sad.

John Kerry advocates for a "borderless world". It's really just an obtuse way of saying "I suck at my job".

Pity more folks don't get Russia Today on their antennas. A couple days ago one of their guests asserted that Obama never registered for the Selective Service. Interesting assertion, because American male citizens who failed to register for the draft are barred by law from holding a federal job.

Questions:

1) Did he indeed register for with the Selective Service.

2) Who is responsible for verifying that presidential candidates registered for the draft?

3) Is the Presidency a federal job within the definition of the Selective Service Act?

4) If the answers to (1) and (3) are "no" and "yes," respectively, then, purely as one of those "hypotheticals" law professors are so fond of, what is the status of laws signed by Barack Obama between his inauguration and today, and also what is the status of executive orders issued by him?

5) Do we have proof that Donald Trump registered for the Selective Service?

______________
Spoiler: Yes, Barack Obama did register for the draft. He was assigned Selective Service Number 61-1125539-1 on Sept. 4th, 1980.

John Kerry advocates for a "borderless world".

Fantasy for a long time to come.
We have at least three empires that are very interested in where their borders go - The Russian Federation, China, and Iran (or "The Moslem World").

Come to think of it, Jorge Ramos is an intelligent person, but when he argues for an open border between the U.S. and Mexico, does he understand that he is then also arguing for the two countries joining?
And man, if they do, what interesting politics that would make for!

Hagar বলেছেন...

and the three empires referenced above now directly borders each other.

Having grown up Norwegian, my brain just is not geared for the number of subjects influencing the verbs in a sentence. I am not sure what it does, but there is some sort of grammatical logic to it; it just is not English.

"he is then also arguing for the two countries joining?"

There actually was a movement for California to annex Baja California at one time about 60 years ago.

It would have been interesting as the mainland has very little contact.

Now, there is not much to choose in incompetent government.

This afternoon's Mother's day Brunch was wonderful. I learned what a Tough Mudder means from the Dau-in-law. She ran the one yesterday in Atlanta. It is a 12 mile obstacle course and run through mud, put on to raise money for Wounded Warriors. She mentioned she has enjoyed being in mud enough for this year.

They have a beginners course that is easier obstacles...no water boarding, but also 12 miles. There was also a child's course of 1 mile. My now age 8 granddaughter (in my Avatar pic) ran that waiting on mother.

In 1848, President Polk was furious with Nicholas Trist, the U.S. representative i Mexico City for pushing the Mexican government to accept the border as first proposed by the U.S. before Polk could get word to Mexico City that he also wanted roughly what is now the top tier states of Mexico outh of the border.

And the southern Democrats had a movement for annexing all of Mexico as slave states to make certain of slavery forever in the U.S.

Just watched the re-run of Fox News Sunday, and all I can say is that I hope Chris Wallace also watches the re-run and listens to himself.
This was appalling!

Signed up with throw away accounts to two dating site. Went through profiles of middle aged women with children currently online and wished them Happy Mothers Day
(no reply necessary) Didn't cost me anything, and hopefully made some women smile a little.

I can't remember if I posted this comment here. We had a disaster with tent caterpillars this season on our crabapple tree. I said let nature happen and I won't disrupt it and it happened and it sure disrupted me. Caterpillars all over the tree and on my flower bed everywhere. My gardener was very apologetic for he thought they would not hatch for another couple of weeks and he was going to do something about it before they did. Well, he/we did have to do something about it by spraying and now half my garden is looking wilted if not dead. But the caterpillars are gone, RIP.

On the restroom issue, I do not think the cross-dressers are the problem. They presumably have always gone to the restrooms they were dressed for, and who would know?

The obvious problem is that the DoJ position in fact goes much farther and will allow any man caught in the girl's room to just state that, oh, no, he is not a voyeur; he just happens to be "identifying" as a female at the moment.

The less obvious problem goes back to my top paragraph; there never has been a problem. The DoJ's mandate is a solution in search of a problem.

This has gotten to be a pure SJW power issue. The DoJ is way out on a limb and have pulled out all the stops to make it clear they are not intending to lose face. In North Carolina the FHWA is threatening to pull NC's highway funds, so the DoJ is coordinating across agency lines like the IRS in the non-profit cases, and PayPal and other firms are threatening boycotting the state, which indicate they have received hints that their cooperation will be appreciated. They certainly did not think up these actions by themselves.

I drove a very long roundabout way to a conference, listening to CDs, including a Blood Sweat & Tears compilation.

How come Lucretia McEvil hasn't been redone as an anti-Hillary song, or an anti-Trump song. Seems tailor-made for it.

Phil 314 বলেছেন...

Chuck;
You got to stop reading RedState, their anti-trumpism has overwhelmed the site. And that's speaking as a anti-Trumper. It like "OK I get it you hate Trump, but what else is new?"

I didn't learn about Trump's outrageous comments about women at Red State. I am not a regular reader of Red State. I rarely look at Red State.

I first saw the video on the Trump-sympathizing Fox News Channel. And of all the sites that encapsulated the story with video, I think Red State did it best, and with admirable clarity and economy.

"OK I get it you hate Trump, but what else is new?"

"I hate everybody who doesn't hate him!" - Chuck

OK, I paraphrase, but he did call anybody who is "Trump tolerant" an ignorant idiot.

Jaq বলেছেন...

I find myself defending Trump because of the over the top shit people say about him. My daughter said that he is going to make Muslims wear badges, you know, like Jews in Nazi Germany....

Jaq বলেছেন...

Plus, everything anybody says about Trump is a lead in to something far worse Hillary has actually done.

It turns out that the old joke about some Mexicans not having heard about the Spanish arriving in their country yet is not that much of a joke.

An article in The Albuquerque Morning Democrat today says that the US District Court in Las Cruces is having a real problem finding interpreters for illegal aliens who cannot speak anything but their native languages, and there are 25 (estimated) on the Yucatan peninsula alone.
Yet interpreters they must have, or they cannot be processed by the US system.

Hillary advocates as Secretary of State, for the overthrow of Assad in Syria... I thought we learned out lesson about overthrowing Middle Eastern dictators, but never mind, then she advocate the overthrow and murder of Qhadaffy in Libya

"We came, we saw, he died" - Hillary

Millions of refugees were created by these two actions, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of which ended up in Europe and you have consequences:

"I had been standing on the platform waiting for the train when a man came up to me and spoke to me in a foreign language. He then started putting his hands through my hair and made it clear that in his cultural background there were hardly any blonde women. I told him to go away, and for a short while he really did go away."

"But it was only to get his pals and a bit later he came back with three others. They stole my handbag and my cards."

And if that was not enough, she said that the four had then attacked her, bashing her to the ground in a rage before running off.

She said that from what they had said she understood they were from Afghanistan and that as she lay on the floor in agony nobody on the platform had helped.

After being treated at hospital for bruising to her head, shoulder and elbow as well as her spine and hips, she went to police.

And her distress had turned to anger when police had told her that she should change her hair colour and should not have been travelling alone after 8pm on public transport.

Exactly how many rapes and sexual assaults does Hillary have to enable before she is considered anti women, I wonder.

At this point, Trump is the nominee, if you are anti Trump, your are pro Hillary. All bets are off if Bernie pulls it out, which I am fervently hoping for.
