"Stopped for driving with a large tree embedded in the front grille."

"We didn't stand there and measure it, but it was a big tree."

Video at the link. The moving image is funnier than these stills.

I've been to Schaumburg. If I had to live there, I'd have picked a much large tree and a much higher speed.

Did you know a tree properly placed can reduce air-conditioning needs by 30%?

For more information cotact Acme Auto Body and Landscaping.

That's some hood ornament.

The first being: "Did you notice the large Bradford Pear protruding from your grille?"

I'm Still Standing by Elton John playing on the radio just before the cars stop was a nice touch.

Okay tree, we grant that you are "still standing" but how long do you expect to last without roots?

Whichever company built that car ought to use it in future advertisements.

Maybe she hit the tree while she was trying to throw her used sanitary napkin out the window.

I had a lady take a corner too wide and hit a tree. She was *adamant* that the accident was not her fault. I gave her a citation anyway. She took it to court, and the judge was not kind to her.

You kinda have to give her props for centering the tree so nicely on the grillwork. That's not easy at the speed required.

"I'm redoing some landscaping at home and needed to move a tree"

I rode a bicycle home from KMart with a six foot Norway Maple on the back rack, long ago. It's a full-grown tree in my side yard now.

It's a Lincoln. Which means it would make a sweet Matthew McConaughey commercial.

I wonder if anyone saw this moving with the car obscured.

Lincolns are tough cars

Only the video does this justice.

That could have just as easily been a person, except of course, a human would not have fared as well. Less humor too.

Just say no.

A person might have been harder to hit I guess, but more points if successful. Degree of difficulty and all that.

It is nice to always drive in the shade.

Just because someone makes a remark about being pear shaped...

The tree's immediate family members were not identified pending notification.

The Lincoln Town Car, along with the similar Ford Crown Victoria and the Mercury Grand Marquis, is a rear wheel drive, body-on-frame vehicle with a lot of extra space under the hood. Things were uncrowded enough that the tree could go quite far into this vehicle without holing the radiator or damaging other major engine components. That's why this car remained operable. A front wheel drive unibody vehicle would have been disabled.

Officer. We're in a play. Scottish Play. There's this scene? With moving trees? This is my job, getting them to Dunsinane Hill? From Birnam Wood, OK?

Really. Let me go, I'll be late for my entrance.

Clearly not a Dodge Aspen.

Whatever car it is, it's got an impressive amount of trunk space.

In the local story, it said the driver lives on Spruce Court. You can't make this stuff up.

Oh, this poor sap, she wood just add to the story like that. :D

She failed the field sobriety test; does that make her a trunk driver??

Granted, she lumbered off with that huge tree in her grill, but the root of the problem was that she wood knot stop until the cops showed up. Must've been pining for home.

I'll show myself out now... :D
