2/22 is Cat Day in Japan.

"Known as 'Neko no Hi', it was chosen because the date's numerals, 2/22 (ni ni ni), are pronounced fairly closely to the sound a cat makes in Japan (nyan nyan nyan)."

Yeah, the Japanese get fun things like "cat day". We get endless talk about racism, sexism, PC and microaggressions.

Do Jap cats eat Ni Ni Ni Mix? I bet they love their cats since no grand children are around anymore as they age.

Tank, I have the same keyboard that you do, but I know what I want to write in Japanese. In fact, the Japanese use the good old Qwerty keyboard, writing the Japanese word in the Latin alphabet and then picking the correct Chinese characters and Japanese syllabary characters from a pop-up window. The pop-up window usually lists the different homonyms in order of probability. Your copy of Windows or OS can do this trick, and it's no worse than typing on a smart phone.
