I have two questions regarding moderation, Ann: are the bad apples who have disappeared under the new rules still submitting comments? Would you care to provide an approximate percentage of comments from 'regulars' that are approved? Thanks in advance, if you choose to reply.
So, if Obama wishes to improve the background check system so that it will actually do some good; what took him so long?
As for the rest of it, it looks about as meaningless as the old mantra about the "gunshow loophole" that does not exist. Is it not illegal to ship firearms by common carrier except from FFL to FFL? So, the talk about "buying online" is also BS.
Krauthammer says he does not understand why Obama takes so much risk of getting shot down on Constitutional grounds for so little, and I think for once I agree with him.
I suppose that by "internet" he could be meaning individuals getting together on one of the social networks, but how are these executive orders or memos or whatever, or indeed anything the government can do, going to prevent that?
It also sounds a bit peculiar to me when he says the reason Congress won't act on his proposals is that the voters don't want them to, and therfore he has to act.
Leave it to the sly liar in chief to actually put chemicals on his cheeks to cause tears that make him appear to be crying over hunts for gun free zone targets. His last year somehow a seems like The Onion jumping the shark.
Nice picture. But Obama. He ruins everything. Even this sunset at Tenney Park. How great would it be if Obungler were gone and Trump were President? A guy can dream!
"GEEZ, the trolls still submit posts even though they know they will not be published, that's weird."
Yes. Either they hope to slip through or they (incorrectly) believe they are getting read or they (incorrectly) believe they can submit good comments that will get them off what is a permanent shit list.
Lawsuit filed and served in Ft. Lauderdale Circuit Civil ( #CACE15022044). Cruz, Rubio, Sec. of State Ken Detzner, and the Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Fla. are defendants.
I should have said about 99%. I'm remembering a few things I've deleted. First, putting a lot of extra spaces in the post -- stuff you have to scroll past. I don't like the look of it and I'm trying to get people to pay attention to the physical aesthetics of the screen, they way you are making my blog look (quite aside from the meaning of the words). Second, I have deleted a few things that are just minimal grousing in the first couple comments, just shitting on the post, essentially. Third, very rarely, I've deleted posts that are out of line with the subject matter and tone of the post and seem to threaten to derail a discussion I want to set up. For example, if I write a post raising serious questions about a disturbing massacre and someone wants to put in something lightweight and off point in the first screen or so of comments, I think that's detrimental to what I'm trying to do and that I owe it to this project to take that out.
"Trump is now questioning Cruz' eligibility. Are you going to write about it "law prof"?"
Maybe you've forgotten that I was the original Cruz birther. August 12, 2012:
"Instapundit... prints email from a reader saying "Why does Ann Althouse assume Ted Cruz is not eligible to be President just because he was born in Calgary? Both of his parents were American at the time of his birth, and his mother was American by birth." I didn't mean to be the first Ted Cruz birther! I agree that if both your parents are American citizens and you are therefore an American citizen at birth, that's good enough for the constitutional requirement.""
From that 2012 post (before Instapundit called me on it):
"Romney is saying — in so many words — I'm more truly and fundamentally American than Barack Obama. And the implication is: I want you to think about the ways that Obama hasn't fully embraced American values of freedom, capitalism, etc. etc.
"Of course, you don't have to be born in America to have those values. I imagine Ted Cruz has those values, and he was born in Canada. He might make a great Senator from Texas soon, but he can never be President. We don't need to see his birth certificate, because it's no secret. He's not qualified to be President, and it's no disparagement of him to say that. But notably — and pay attention now, because this should help with understanding Romney's joke — no one running against Cruz would make a joke about his being born outside of the United States. Romney's (implicit) joke about Obama works not because of where he was actually born, but because of much more substantive ideas about commitment to foundational American values."

Yeah, but now he is actually running for President. His parents were not both US citizens at the time Cruz was born, and the State Dept. openly doubts whether he is eligible (7 FAM 1131.6-2). The constitution says that he SHALL not be eligible (capable of being elected) yet he is being put on the state Primary ballot in Fla. (so he is capable of being elected).

1. Yes
2. About 100%
Beautiful. Is that a camera snap or a phone snap? Looks very cold, but beautiful.
Run that breathtaking photo through the Waterlogue App.

I heard Obama cried today over all the gun violence and death in his beloved city, Chicago..
Don't weep for me Obamantina.

I would love to hear from an Althouse a description of the ambient sounds in some of these scenes from her pictures.
Do they make it more or less desolate?
I am Laslo.

1. Yes
GEEZ, the trolls still submit posts even though they know they will not be published, that's weird.
"I would love to hear from an Althouse a description of the ambient sounds in some of these scenes from her pictures."
Yesterday, earlier than this picture, when we got home from skiing, I commented that it sounded like spring, there were so many birds singing.
The sunset was near the dog park, where there are lots of cranes and geese.

This is a "law blog", correct?

And I am getting good and tired of the major media next day articles just sounding like a frog choir repeating the administration's talking points.
