The video of her singing on that show preceding the interview, demonstrates her prodigious artistry. Cerebral at a gut level. One of a kind and missed.

Bob Boyd - or the host offering to light it for you. Sometimes as Johnny Carson came back from commercials, the camera would catch him stubbing out a cigarette in an ashtray behind him.
