Which isn't to say there's no right or wrong. It's more to say that the wrongness isn't limited to Islam and we shouldn't distance ourselves or feel smug.
We should, however, seek to do and be better.
And many of us are. But we tend to devolve under the influence of those who want to abuse and control.

Just goes to show that even Muslim countries need to stop Muslim immigration until they can figure out a way to vett the immigrants.

@Gahrie, first of all, I'm not a Christian so I don't give a rat's patootie what is and isn't Christian. Second, the problem isn't all of Islam; it's closely tied to a particular offshoot -- Salafism -- which is extreme in its teachings and violent in its application of those teachings. Blaming all of Islam would be like blaming all of Christianity for something that a particular synod of the Lutheran Church might be engaged in.
The basic problem right now, as I see it, is that the Roman Catholics and Lutherans and Anglicans and Calvinists and Methodists and even the Congregationalists would act to stop violence perpetrated by an extreme sect of an otherwise mainstream Protestant denomination. So far, the Shiites and non-Salafist Sunnis don't appear to be lifting a finger to stop the Salafis and Wahhabis. How to get them involved is way more than anyone in this Obama administration seems to care to figure out.
Remind me again what Al Qaida and ISIS have in common. And how are they different? This effort to make a distinction is becoming absurd. It's as if we need to have an argument about whether the Japanese navy, army or air force launched specific attacks in WW2. It's interesting to pendants but not really the issue, is it?
You, myself, and every other non-muslim are the enemies of ALL muslims. muslims will stop the slaughter when you, myself and every other non-muslim is either dead, converted, or mute with fear.
Your attempts to give the "Religion of Peace" adherents an excuse is worthless. muslims who say nothing in the face of muslim slaughter, given the choice to defend us or to protect muslim killers, don't have to think about that choice for a second. Their reflex is toward mohammad and the quran. Kid yourself that "most muslims are peace-loving" and maybe they will slaughter you last.
