Watch Sarah Palin do her Tina Fey impersonation in "31 Rock."

Via Vanity Fair which wouldn't admit it's good if it wasn't.

Some self-parody of liberal shaming at the link.

JAORE ayon kay ...

"Surprisingly, the parody is not as awful as it sounds."

Then the comment on disappointing that one o the good guys is "shilling" for her book.

THAT is admitting it is good?

A classic example of those on the left believing they have 1) open minds and 2) present a unbiased view.

Sadly I can't see that video--it sounds amusing. I'd also like to see Palin do an impression of Fey doing an impression of Palin--sort of a self-aware sendup. There's nothing more disarming than taking on a satire of yourself.

Hagar ayon kay ...

I enjoy seeing Tina Fey doing Palin - it is almost like seeing Palin herself - which is probably not what Fey intended.

Ann Althouse ayon kay ...

I liked seeing Palin de-glammed. Much more youthful and attractive.

Howard ayon kay ...

Her last attempt to avoid circulating down the memory hole along with Lindsey Graham and the angry POW senator what's his name.

Ahh, another lefty employing lefty memes.

The most subversive part of 30 Rock was the conservative character that Alec Baldwin played. He was usually the most sensible and least horrible person on the show. Same with the Ron Swanson character on Parks and Rec.

Lewis Wetzel ayon kay ...

No, no, no, Howard. The memory hole is reserved for female Democrat VP candidates with ties to organized crime, shady developers, and pornographers. Betya can't remember her name without looking it up. If you can, betya can't remember what she looks like, and if she is alive or dead.
That is memory-holing, friend.

Terry,

Why are you bringing up Ferraro?

Michael J. Fox's character Alex, was by far the most reasonable person on the show Family Ties and the writers couldn't understand why people *liked* him as they thought they were writing a monster whom they forced to apologize at the end of every show. Of course, when he apologized, it just made him see even more reasonable.

Liberals never apologize. It's all about power with them.

Hell, in "All in the Family", even with the racism, Archie Bunker was less of an asshole than his hippie son and daughter-in-law. Meathead was the most unlikeable person on that show.

Terry: I'm guessing Geraldine Ferraro because she was the only fem VP I recall prior to Mamma Bear the repug Oedipus complex catnip.

cubanbob: ouch, that really hurts.

I've never seen 30 Rock. Am I missing anything?

Sounds like you have issues, Howard.

This. If I had to choose between living with Archie or living with Meathead, it would be Archie in a heartbeat. Though Edith would slowly drive me crazy.

Tina Fey's depiction of Palin was one of the more effective political assassinations of our time. There are a whole lot of people out there who think Palin actually said "I can see Russia from my house."

Terry,
Why are you bringing up Ferraro?

Just to remind people what an acceptable female VP candidate looks like to the Dems.

Birches ayon kay ...

That was good. It would have been worth it just to see dotcom again, but it was well done.

Wince ayon kay ...

Really good.

If there is one disappointment, it’s that actual 30 Rock cast member Kevin Brown reprised his role as Dot Com to help Palin shill her new book in the video, produced by conservative Web site Independent Journal.

Is that because all blacks are supposed to be "down with the cause?

What if he's conservative? The VF writer doesn't even seem to consider that a possibility.

Bigotry: a black man is a "disappointment" because he didn't fulfill a privileged white woman's expectations.
