Yeah, I imagine it's really not a good idea to come down with septicemia in a Thai prison in the best of circumstances, much less when you're in the joint for insulting the monarchy.
The Thais aren't like the Europeans, who routinely insult their monarchs. The Thais take this stuff very seriously.

Ok. Time for the "why didn't he tell his own fortune" jokes.
I suspect that the Thai's problem is living in a culture that is so steeped in eastern afterlife, reincarnation and karma BS that each human's death is inconsequential. They are the King of Siam's people, afterall.
I think the Thai people are aware of having no problem whatsoever and would be interested to know what yours is.
