"That assumes that the people at CNBC are capable of shame, which I'm skeptical of."
I assume there are a few adults at NBC who are afraid for their corporate sponsors although, if the truth be known, most corporate sponsors at CNBC are firmly attacked the the federal tit. Probably have now grown into it as symbiotes.
Garage can't see any difference between the CNBC tack of "People have questioned your finances Rubio so why don't you quit?" and the utter lack of even ONE question about shady financing and fundraising of Clinton Inc. in the Dem "debate."
Then again, any party debate that included Jim "Why do I get so little timne every time?" Webb is unsuitable for comparison to the excellent job Ted Cruz did skewering the skewerers last night. That wasn't a whine, it was a direct smack down, Bitch!
Obviously, attacking the moderator doesn't help the voters answer the substantive policy issues of the day (Iran deal, budget deal, immigration policy, etc, etc.)
But, in some respects, it feels cathartic to break through some of the obstacles and barriers Conservatives face in trying to get their message out. It's a sense of freedom. That's what I'm feeling, anyway. True, it won't last more than a day or 2, but it feels good now.
My general view is that Conservatives are mostly right on the policies, but have a tough time on the politics, because they don't recognize that they are a distinct minority in this country. There's too many college professors and kids, too many immigrants, too many welfare recipients, too many government bureaucrats, too many ex-hippies, for there to be a conservative majority.
That's ok though. Conservatives, I think, have demonstrated political success at the local and state levels in many, many, many more States than the Dems have. The only issue is battling that Electoral College at the Presidential level at this moment in history, when Cal & NY are uniformly blue, and Dems start out with 242 Electoral votes -- needing only a handful of states for a victory.
I'm fairly optimistic though. I thought 2012 was a winnable election, that Romney botched in that 2nd debate; I think 2016 is winnable too.
And Rubio's declaration that the biggest SuperPac of all is the MSM was spot-on. It's true. They cover for Hillary and all parrot the same "what a week she had" line even though she repeatedly admitted what a lousy job she did as SOS and how only cronies like Huma and Sid Vicious could reach her while "my good close friend Chris Stevens" didn't even have her email address or phone number. Oh and the black and white evidence she lied about Benghazi to everyone except her family and the Egyptians.
Yep, serial liar and shitty secretary. That's some weak Hillary.
Funny, garage... I don't hear Democrats crying about the mistreatment they receive from Fox News or Fox Business host moderators.
Of course that's probably because the Democrats won't even allow FNC/FBN to host any of their primary debates. Yet the RNC agrees to a debate moderated by journalists who have been openly, vocally biased against Republicans for years.
That's stupid of the RNC, but neither the voters nor the candidates had a hand in that decision. Why don't we have as much right to complain as if Bernie, Hillary, and the rest had to answer loaded questions from Sean Hannity?
NBC has taken down the clips. The clips and extended passages of the democrat debate are still up. It seems like fair use to me, a few seconds in a review, but our host is a law prof. So I'd like to hear her opinion.
Christie had the best answer to the "biggest weakness" question:
I don’t see a lot of weakness on this stage, quite frankly. Where I see the weakness is in those three people that are left on the Democratic stage. You know, I see a socialist, an isolationist and a pessimist. And for the sake of me, I can’t figure out which one is which.
As an objective observer, today's war of New York Propaganda Machines to be found on the winning side when the Digital Age crashes down into a governed monopoly like China's is unrestrained by even a shred of honesty. The hacks have lost track of truth in context.
That is why a harsh word fighter like Trump is winning support just for being more truthful more of the time...and he makes it look easy.
"my good close friend Chris Stevens" didn't even have her email address or phone number." Strange..since she also claimed he liked to joke around. You'd think she'd keep that link active..ya know..just for giggles.
Garage, you a such a stooge. Come on, you are smarter than that. When you saw Lois Lerner skate away with full pension, did any chimes ring in your cranium? Did the Obama DOJ come to mind?
"to my knowledge, not one Republican claims to have found one law Hillary has broken."
I think that may be true but the FBI is working on that. The investigations show that stonewalling has been pretty good at dragging this out. You may not be old enough to recall that the Watergate investigation dragged along until they learned of the White House taping system.
The e-mails and her server are the White House tapes.
Ken Cuccinelli, a Republican and a former Virginia attorney general wrote this piece, "Yes, Hillary Clinton broke the law", in which he says that Clinton and Petraeus broke the same law, 18 USC §1924:
According to the law, there are five elements that must be met for a violation of the statute, and they can all be found in section (a) of the statute: “(1) Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, (2) by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, (3) knowingly removes such documents or materials (4) without authority and (5) with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location [shall be guilty of this offense].”
The ray of hope that I see in this is that some of the candidates understand that the media are the (to use Hillary!'s word) "enemy". The GOP establishment hasn't figured it out, but if the GOP nominates a candidate who DOES understand it (rather than a Romney who wouldn't dare disagree with Candy Crowley, or a McCain who thought he was OK because the press always called him a "maverick"), then we might have a real contest for the Presidency.
I pray nightly that it won't be Trump. Rubio, Cruz, Christie, Fiorina are looking good to me.
Maybe Hillary should sue whoever is investigating her, like Walker & allies did, and shut it down. Find a few sympathetic judges, and, voila, you're off the hook.

And isn't that incredible? I figured it out about the time of the Clarence Thomas hearings. How did the Republican powers-that-were not absorb the lesson then (or earlier) and go to war with these partisan hacks? Almost 30 years later and clearly the RNC still doesn't get it. Gob-smacking but I guess it explains Jeb Bush bizarre quixotic candidacy.
When President Black Swagger announced to the world on 60 Minutes that Hillary did not harm national security, it was clear where the "charges" would land. After all, it is a "smidgen" of a pattern with him, big foot an investigation or a court ruling.
...our host is a law prof. So I'd like to hear her opinion.
I'm often times amused at when we get an opinion and when she remains silent. Maternity fashion, fashion, reality TV, etymology, Bob Dylan, and Drudge deserve a great deal of commentary, and oftentimes legal matters are simply posted without explanation or analysis.
Guess that's what make it an interesting blog, huh?
Lena Dunham and men in short pants posts are simply fishing expeditions.
Garage is still titillated that Bill got away with sexually assaulting Paula Jones and Kathleen Wiley. I don't understand why you guys tolerate him. He's scum.
I don't know, Garage, do you really think "Have you stopped beating your wife" type questions really advance the public debate? A lot of the questions were of that variety, e.g., the question asked of Cruz about the budget bill, which assumed that the bill was the ne plus ultra of great policy and asked him how he felt about being the skunk at the garden party. A good question would have asked for his critique of the budget bill. But maybe that's just me, being all legal and precise.
Here's my question for the next Democratic debate: "Recent research shows that black children benefit from being in integrated schools. Do you support busing and consolidation of suburban districts with urban school districts in order to promote school integration?" What do you think, Garage, is that a fair question?
Too bad none of the candidates actually got the answer right. The correct answer to the question "what is your biggest weakness" is: "My biggest weakness is that I have very little patience for stupid questions."

apparently CNBC has objected to the clips and they are gone, either though it seems a simple "fair use" exception.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, whine more than Republicans.
I don't like these questions!
I'm not getting enough time!
What about Hillary!
Why aren't we talking about why I want to talk about!
The media is always against us!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa
CNBC makes a capricious DMCA takedown here. Typical. Fair use, and hopefully Youtube will have it back up later.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, claims transparency and goes into cover-up mode like the left.
The CNBC jerks were retaliating against Trump for backing them down on time and format..
They self destructed trying that nastiness on Trump. Trump is no Rick Perry. Trump fights to win until he wins. That is why he makes good deals.
Too many loops. I'm not surprised that CNBC is trying to hide. That is a category killer in their business.
Garage is content that no one, and I mean no one, will ask Hillary a hostile question.
I know a few level headed Democrats and I have been reluctant to ask them how they can seaport Hillary who should be in prison.
The left were all blathering about Bush and Cheney being arrested but we have explicit laws that she has broken that are felonies.
The TPM comments are amusing. They have no idea what the issue is,They just hate Republicans. The NBC copyright claim is hilarious.

Completely embarrassed by their network and now trying to hide the evidence.

What's your biggest weakness?
What kind of question is that? What are journalists for?
Here's the right answer:
"That I don't suffer that kind of question."

In the Obama DoJ in basket where they will stay. Congress is not a prosecutor or attorney general.
You can still see some links elsewhere. On slate, for example, here and here.

My favorite Hillary quote: "I have released 30,000 'pages' of emails".
Two questions should have followed:
> What about the other 30,000?
> Why pages?
Republicans ran 8 investigations, and to my knowledge, not one Republican claims to have found one law Hillary has broken.
...except for that whole "keeping classified info on a private server and giving it to people without clearance" thing.

she broke the security protocols, the tax laws on her foundation, emolements statute,
I am glad I watched the game; that looks painful.

Hillary is on a hook? Do tell.
I did a zillion squats yesterday and my ass is killing me.
tits and muscles.
Any good bowel movements?

Hillary had midnight raids done on her home and was forbidden from talking to lawyers?

Yeh. Hillary should sue. Discovery would be awesome you fat fucking faggot (Mahal).
