“If you do not listen … your event will be shut down,” one of the protesters told organizers, who offered to let them speak after Sanders. After a back and forth with the screaming protesters, organizers relented and said the demonstrators could go first.Silence + profanities ≠ silence.
Some in the largely white audience booed and chanted for protesters to let the senator talk. A few yelled for police to make arrests.
Marissa Johnson, one of the protesters, shot back, “I was going to tell Bernie how racist this city is, filled with its progressives, but you did it for me,” accusing the audience of “white supremacist liberalism.” She cited Seattle’s own police problems, including an ongoing Justice Department consent decree over use of force.
The activists demanded 4½ minutes of silence in memory of Brown, to symbolize the 4½ hours his body lay on a Ferguson street. While rally organizers raised their hands in support, some in the crowd yelled profanities.
After the few minutes of silence...
... the protesters said they wanted to confront Sanders for failing to address their concerns when he was similarly interrupted at a town hall for liberal activists in Phoenix last month. Johnson beckoned Sanders to stand closer as she spoke — he refused.Bernie Sanders didn't want to stand too close to Marissa Johnson, which she just might consider evidence of how racist he is... like all those other white progressives who think so well of themselves. And so Bernie couldn't get close to the microphone, and Bernie gave up trying and left — in a white Jeep — to go to the Comet Tavern where people had paid $200 to $1,000 to hear Bernie proclaim that "When we stand together, when black and white stand together, when gay and straight stand together, when women and men stand together... when we stand together, there is nothing, nothing, that we cannot accomplish."
When we stand together? When do we do that? It's safe to say that "when we stand together, there is nothing, nothing, that we cannot accomplish," because we never do stand together. Sanders wouldn't stand with Marissa Johnson when she beckoned him to stand with her, and that's just a minute particle of our overall refusal to stand together.
But in this hypothetical nation that Sanders envisions, the one in which we do all stand together, there'd be a hell of a lot of things we wouldn't be able to accomplish.

Maybe blacks are figuring out their role in the Democrat Party. That's encouraging.
Thugs.
Guess this is the coming daily "Three Minutes of Hate" we may expect. I choose not to be an enabler of such liberal fascism.
Did he ever consider the possibility that the reason we don't stand together with him is because we do not want most of the things that he would try to accomplish?
Wow! The internal contradictions of basing a coalition on the self-interest of disparate identity groups finally becoming manifest. This followed by high minded empty rhetoric that ignore just what took place. Cant finally meets the reality of the Democratic party. Been a long time coming.
This is "Virtue Signaling" that is out of hand. Next year's Democrat convention will be interesting. White guilt has paralyzed the Democrats and it should be fun to watch.
As these never occur at Hillary's speeches, some have asserted HRC is behind the Black Lives (sometimes) Matter protests at one-bullet Bernie's events. Maybe, maybe not.
There will never be a BLM protest in Vermont, the Bern's home state. The one black family in the state is too busy.
When we stand together? When do we do that?
Well, I can't speak for everyone, but in our everyday (see what I did there?) lives most of us do this in various ways. You go to a baseball game, or football game, and blacks, whites, latinos, Latinas, trans latinos, and Asians are all there cheering together. I go to Shoprite, got a good mix of black, white, Asian and latino (there is a joke there about what happened to me at the watermelon table, but Mrs. Tank says I cannot tell it). I played golf yesterday (yes, golf!) at a $100+/round course in NJ, and plenty of black, white, Asian and (do latinos play golf, I don't recall any). My travelling golf club has blacks and whites and Asians (no latinos I can think of). I could give ten more examples, but you get the idea.
Lots of us work, live and play together everyday. In the political world they seek to set us against each other, and have been successful. I bet that 95%+ commenters on this Blog have contact everyday with "others" with no problem whatsoever, and likely treat them as individuals, because that is what we do in our daily lives.
=======================
Why doesn't Bernie Sanders have a security detail of ten large men of various races to protect him from this sort of crap. If he can't figure out he might need that, what else can't he figure out? OK, OK, he's an idiot (also a worse, I mean worse, liar than Zero).
Tank is right.
The free market is diverse people coming together to accomplish amazing things.
"I bet that 95%+ commenters on this Blog have contact everyday with "others" with no problem whatsoever"
I was at a training session Friday where I work a couple of days a week. It is a military recruit center where I, along with some other retired doctors, examine recruits. Most of the staff are black. Half the recruits are Latino and many staff are, as well.
Friday, our session was with an FBI SWAT member on "Active Shooters" and there was no PC bullshit. The FBI guy told us that the Colorado shooter walked past three theaters until he got to the one with a "gun free zone" sign. We had frank talk about what to do if we have a terrorist (Radical Muslim was discussed freely) attack. It was pointed out that last week we had an incident and upgrades to security were discussed.
We all agreed on what needed to be done. It's sort of the modern equivalent of "no atheists in foxholes."

Shocks me that Bernie doesn't reflex to these people. It makes me a tad bit interested in him.
Did you see how O'Malley came around after his mistake of saying, "Yes, black lives matter, white lives matter, all lives matter"?
@Drill
Yes, I know there are some, but I think I see more black golfers on the courses I play in NJ than Hispanics. Could be wrong though.
When we stand together? When do we do that? It's safe to say that "when we stand together, there is nothing, nothing, that we cannot accomplish," because we never do stand together.
Shower, not stand.
The substitution works in any political speech.
I was going to tell Bernie how racist this city is,
Sure it is - security didn't remove the screaming person from the stage as they should have because she's a black woman.
My take is that "political activists" like that have some kind of weird psychological problem that gets exploited by puppet masters. A few years ago a would-be suicide bomber was captured and so it was learned that he was more-or-less a complete mental defective, manipulable and expendable. Sort of like that.
Unless the protest industry is sufficiently mature that these disruptors are merely making their bones, to be later rewarded with a 9-5 desk job writing press releases and grant proposals, in which case I'm pretty much misperceiving the whole thing.
What happens when we stand together?
Frottage.
I am Laslo.
"When we stand together? When do we do that?"
When Progs join in their mutual congratulation society and the rest of us shut up and take orders.
Black Lives Matter is a tour de force of idiotic positions, by the way.
The media pointedly not noticing is humor at its best.
As Les Nesman would say, "Chy-chy Rodrigwayz!"
What is the difference between BLACK LIVES MATTER members disrupting a political rally or NAZI BROWNSHIRTS doing the same decades ago?
I bet the Clintons were somehow behind this.
The people who came there to hear Bernie did not show up to hear whatever random group who decided to hijack the podium. He was right not to stand with Marissa Johnson when she beckoned him to stand with her. To do so would validate her sluggishness and encourage more of the same. He needs better security--keep non-authorized people away from the microphone and off the stage.
These protests have not occurred at Hillary's events, because she is the preferred candidate so far of the puppet masters who are funding these protesters. You think these protesters would get this off the ground on their own? No way, I think there is money behind it and it is funded by people like Soros or even Obama minions to make Obama appear to be doing something for Blacks. I would like to see these people disturb a Republican event and wonder why they have not done that yet.
Why do these activists still invoke Mike Brown, the violent thug? There are much more sympathetic victims of police violence. Sorry but no way would I be silent for four and a half minutes to honor that scum.
It's annoying how starkly and unfairly these activists present the issue. If you disagree with them or their tactics, you must think black lives do not matter. After all, the only people who think black lives matter are #BlackLivesMatter, right?
"just a minute particle of our overall refusal to stand together."
You can't herd cats. What is wrong with those damn cats anyway?
Apparently there are much hurt feelz about Brown be left where he lay for 4 1/2 hours, which is, of course, stupid.
He was shot. When somebody is shot there is an investigation. Moving the body immediately would have been suspicious. It would indicate that the police weren't taking the matter seriously.
Taking the steps needed to do a competent investigation is a good thing.
being left
"I bet the Clintons were somehow behind this."
It would make sense:
'...in addition to asking, "What can the GOP do to win more Latinos?" we should also be asking, "What can Hillary do to keep black voters engaged?"'
Blacks are among Hillary!'s most dependable voters, and something is needed to keep them fired up and willing to go to the polls.
How come none of the disrupting protesters ever look like Halle Berry?
If Halle Berry asked for a moment of silence I would grant her wish, and stare at her breasts, uninterrupted.
Unless I was behind the stage, in which case I would stare at her ass.
All good.
I am Laslo.

I think the difference is you have the perceived power imbalance wrong.
Given the Black Live Matter people feel persecuted, it would be more like as a group of Jews disrupting a Nazi political rally some decades ago.
"It's annoying how starkly and unfairly these activists present the issue"
Well, activists do have a tendency of being a bit over-the-top on their pet issue. I wouldn't expect anything else from them. I would expect a bit less cravenness from the rest of the Dems, though.
white supremacist liberalism
Surely, that shouldn't be a shocker at this late date. There have never been more virulent racists than the whitie progs who have worked tirelessly for decades to keep blacks toiling on the librul plantation. First they hobble them with shit public schools. Then they marginalized them in all-black voting districts with corrupt and venal politicians who cannot ever be voted out. Ply their children with drugs. Freed up black men from the responsibilities (and joys) of fatherhood. Shower the stoops and sofas with federal welfare dollars. And look the other way when someone other than a white police officer kills one of them.
And Bernie Sanders has been as responsible for that as just about anyone.
I'd say that this was a clean shot on an undefended goal.
- Krumhorn
The people who came there to hear Bernie did not show up to hear whatever random group who decided to hijack the podium. He was right not to stand with Marissa Johnson when she beckoned him to stand with her. To do so would validate her sluggishness and encourage more of the same.
Exactly, dbp
Given the Black Live Matter people feel persecuted, it would be more like as a group of Jews disrupting a Nazi political rally some decades ago.
No, because the Jews *are* persecuted by the Nazis. They don't just feel persecuted.
...on the other hand, those BLM women were probably the highest-testosterone people at the rally, so Bern's acquiescence to their takeover isn't really a surprise.
Question in two parts: will Mike Brown become the Horst Wessel of this century? and if so does that mean they need a song?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horst_Wessel
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pinxdGZe5aY
Maybe Bernie would have enjoyed more success at his own event if he had passed around some blunts and piped in some Peter Paul and Mary. Maybe invite everyone to hold hands and sing a swaying chorus or two of Kumbaya. Or Dixie.
– Krumhorn
" those BLM women were probably the highest-testosterone people at the rally,"
Good point.
This is all about Virtue Signaling the new trend on the left. Look at Bernie in that photo. Standing to the side with his head down.
Wait, some bitch comes and hijacks his event, disrupting his ability to campaign, and you attack him because he won't stand next to the bitch?
I'd have demanded her arrest myself.
Socialism always fails and the political party that supports socialism always fails, but the end is nasty and brutish.
Vermont is 95% white, only 1% black. Under disparate impact theory, this means Vermont is probably racist, Bernie.
I admit it: I love watching the democrats self-implode like this.
This is an interesting commentary on the Left. The Huffington Post covered this. The most approved comment was "The blacklivematter movement just lost an ally" with more that 750 thumbs up.
The Sanders rallies are more white than any Republican event. These white progressives pat themselves on the back for their inclusiveness. But when one of their rallies gets disrupted by three black women who wandered off the Progressive plantation, all bets are off.
Eric the Fruit Bat said, "Unless the protest industry is sufficiently mature that these disruptors are merely making their bones, to be later rewarded with a 9-5 desk job writing press releases and grant proposals, in which case I'm pretty much misperceiving the whole thing."
You are misperceiving - the object is to become a community organizer and then POTUS.
Michael K: This is "Virtue Signaling" that is out of hand. Next year's Democrat convention will be interesting. White guilt has paralyzed the Democrats and it should be fun to watch.
What I'm looking forward to is the Big Snap. (Snap as in "break", not snap as in "oh, snap!".) The Virtue Signaling class is pretty well protected from obnoxious "minority" behavior. For now, mostly. Sooner or later "the contradictions inherent in the system" are going to get in their faces, and they won't be able to get away. I'm really looking forward to the moment when some spoiled narcissist of a Virtue Signaler (long protected from real contradiction) publicly loses it with some member of the Professionally Aggrieved (who has also always had his dumb opinions treated with solemn deference). It's going to be epic.
(BTW, your article linked in your reply to Paco is very funny. Though I will point out that the term "virtue signaling" has been floating around the sailer-sphere for several years now.)
I once dated a black girl in college.
Her skin was a beautiful light cappuccino, flawless in that way that only exists in youth and good fortune.
Unfortunately, her skin was a cause of great inner turmoil to her: her black friends would comment that she "wasn't really black," that she was too light-skinned to understand the true experience of the Black Life.
She would try to take these words in stride, but it caused her great pain: her white friends thought she was black, and her black friends thought she wasn't black enough.
On top of that, she was brilliant, and exceeded in all of her classes; some of her black friends then used this as 'proof' that she was Acting White.
So, anyway, one evening we were having anal sex and -- when I ejaculated -- I shouted out "I have a dream!"
I'm not sure why that came out; I was lost in the moment, I guess.
From that point onward things became awkward between us; she began to read the autobiography of Malcolm X.
We drifted apart, and I soon started dating a Japanese girl.
Sometimes during sex I so desperately wanted to shout "Tora! Tora! Tora!", but I had learned my lesson.
I just wish her parents hadn't named her 'Pearl.'
I am Laslo.
Marxists have historically been great at getting people to stand together....in bread lines, in barbed wire enclosures, on the edges of mass graves.
So Saunders is just as full of it as the rest of them? What a surprise.
How does this happen?
Young black man attacks a cop in a small town and is killed. His buddy lies about what happened. Race hustlers move in to exploit it. Obama administration supports race hustlers. Media supports hustlers and Obama administration. Truth finally comes out months later. Race hustlers and media do not care.
Yesterday, "Black Lives Matter" takes over stage at Sanders and claims Brown was an innocent shot down by police officer. Today, on Meet the Press, there is an African American woman who heads some liberal organization who announces today is the one year anniversary of the "murder of Michael Brown." Media panel of five others say not one word to challenge (including Hugh Hewitt, who in his normal state would immediately challenge (being on MTP apparently does something to a person).
Anatomy of how politicians and media allow race hustlers to prosper. Only hope is to let them expose themselves and, hopefully, democratic party loses power.
Saunders is from Vermont, where they can be sanctimonious about race because in practical terms there is only one race. There are a little over 7000 black people in all of Vermont.
There are a little over 7000 black people in all of Vermont.
No, there are 1.2% black people in Vermont. Big deal, there are only 1.5% in New Hampshire. Even Oregon has only 2.0%.
Race baiting is tough work with no math skills. Fuck-stick...

Bears repeating... Although I might have said "intentionally" rather than "pointedly".
Has anyone noticed how much race relations have improved in the 7th year of the reign of Good King Obama?
Me neither. Meantime in the midst of all this, our Lightworker is playing golf in Massachusetts--after his White House has firebombed Chuck Schumer for disagreeing with him on the Iran deal.
"These protests have not occurred at Hillary's events..." Heh. Because she hasn't really had events. Her events are staged with carefully chosen followers. No one else can get close.
But surely that will have to change at some point?
It's Blair's Law: Coined by Australian journalist, Tim Blair as "the ongoing process by which the world's multiple idiocies are becoming one giant, useless force."
Vermont may only have about 7,500 blacks but if you ever find yourself on Church St. in Burlington, you will see abundant trustafarians--White kids with long, dirty blonde dreadlocks and rustic clothing. I think they self-identify as Jamaican and should therefore be included in the black demographic.
Sharing a moment of silence is not the same thing as barging in and demanding a moment of silence.
Hijacking a completely unrelated event to demand silence deserves precisely zero respect.
The video clip MTP showed of this event was very deceptive. They made it look innocuous.
Coupe: Race baiting is tough work with no math skills. Fuck-stick...
But egregiously misinterpreting a straightforward comment is easy even with no brains.
Guess you were so eager to demonstrate your insufficient mastery of basic arithmetic that you had to put your meager reading comprehension skills on standby.
I got it: have Barry apply AFFH to Vermont and Oregon as a whole. Clearly, whatever they're doing in those states has a disparate impact on minority presence. Let's all keep our eyes on the diversity prize in white lib enclaves.
"Bob Boyd said...

That wins this thread. Great line, Bob. And so very, very true.
...egregiously misinterpreting...
I think not. If there was one black in a room of nine white people, would that mean that the nine common white people won't know the trials and tribulations of the one common black person.
Maybe black people don't like rural living, or dealing with a lot of Canadian migrants.
In looking at the picture again, I am now suspect that Ms. Johnson is not really a black person. I think she is faking it. After all, she's in Washington, a state that has been known to promote fake black people to high office.
She's definitely not Abyssinian. Definitely not pure Senegal.
No, she looks maybe mulatto or could be a white girl with dark skin.
Does she know she is not black? It could be she is confused by having black and white heredity mixed.
It would be a shame to be outed in the Washington or New York press.
Do you think any of the Black Lives Matter crowd know the name of a single homicide victim in Baltimore since the Freddie Gray incident? When police stand down, more blacks get killed. The dynamics of the situation are such that the more black people get murdered, the more disaffected with the police blacks become. I'm sure all those people in Syrian refugee camps believe that Israel and/or the CIA are responsible for their plight. They don't know how, but they know it is so.......I read The New Yorker article on Darren Wilson. The article stated that blacks were unfairly targeted for ticketing by the police in Ferguson. The article also states that there was huge increase in the black population of Ferguson. Presumably the blacks moved to Ferguson because they were treated worse elsewhere. My guess is that they moved to Ferguson from communities where crime is out of control......,The Mayor and the DA have made Baltimore a safer place for neighborhood drug dealers, but not so much for other people. There will be a huge out flow of black people from Baltimore. They will move to white towns where they will complain of harassment by the police.
I've got a suggestion for music at Senator Sanders's next fundraisers: Frederic Rzewski's 36 Variations on The People United Will Never Be Defeated. It is appropriately elitist while also reinforcing the point that the Latinos are becoming the Democrats' most useful group of voters, behind the LGBTTQQFAGPBDSMs.
The Democrat party of slavery, racism, Jim Crow cannot completely skate away from their heritage. BLM might not connect the dots but their target is right on. Liberals cannot escape their collective guilt even though their education and media have rewritten history to whitewash their role.
"Though I will point out that the term "virtue signaling" has been floating around the sailer-sphere for several years now.)"
It was new to me and such an obvious insight into the leftist mind that I had to record it.
" I am now suspect that Ms. Johnson is not really a black person."
Has anyone but me noted that the "black" radicals tend to be radical in inverse proportion to the amount of melanin in their skin ? Look at conservative blacks, like Clarence Thomas, Allen West, Herman Cain. What do you see ? BLACK people !
Look at Barack Obama, and most of Reverend Wright's congregation. Light skin. I have a theory that light skinned blacks are more angry because they feel disrespected because they are not quite white enough. Dark skinned blacks are comfortable with what they are. I was raised by a dark skinned nursemaid who took care of my sister and me until we were almost adults. My sister then took care of her until she died at the age of 95.
" I have a theory that light skinned blacks are more angry because they feel disrespected because they are not quite white enough."
My 9:46 comment posited a different view on this situation: that they are not quite black enough.
People often miss my insights.
I am Laslo.

Sanders wouldn't stand with Marissa Johnson when she beckoned him to stand with her, and that's just a minute particle of our overall refusal to stand together.
Probably because to "stand together" with an extremist representative of a narrow, sectarian interest would be the opposite of the inclusive message he wants to send. Good for him.
Pretty good lesson in what happens when you pay the Danegeld, really.
The basic facts of the case are known; the DOJ investigation was pretty thorough. It wouldn't have damaged any long-term Liberal cause for the Left & Media to say something like "you know, systemic racism is still a big problem in this country, and black people are right to be suspicious and angry, but this particular case is a bad example of the overall truth and we need to make sure we don't taint our overall message with bad examples/false narratives." They didn't--maybe they couldn't--they were too afraid to be called racists. What did their acquiescence buy? Not peace from the extremists, not support from their followers, not even temporary grace from the attacks from the hustlers.
Oh, you don't like being called a racist when you don't deserve to be? Welcome to the party pal, enjoy living under the warped rules you were all to happy to impose on the rest of us, fighting a monster largely of your own creation (having all but outlawed once-effective weapons of self defense like reason, logic, and good faith)!
Bernie could have had an "I'm paying for this microphone!" type moment. Instead, he showed everyone what type of leader he would be: feckless and weak.
I don't blame blacks for being extremely frustrated and angry. Their situation never seems to get any better. Their party placates them with cheap talk, but puts its efforts and resources into pleasing the donor class and routing benefits to potential new constituency groups. Their party has been taught by blacks that in the end blacks will will vote overwhelmingly Democrat no matter what.
Conservative voters are in exactly the same boat in relation to the Republican Party. Maybe conservatives could learn something from this.
Real question: if H Clinton attempted a "Sister Souljah moment" against a BLM leader (or some such), would it work? I can't imagine her even doing so, though, which says a lot about how far we've gone down the SJW-approved PC road since the 90's.
Patrons of superior and managing classes are reaping the rewards.
"Maybe conservatives could learn something from this."
Yeah, rioting and burning down your town would get attention.
"Yeah, rioting and burning down your town would get attention."
They didn't riot or burn down a town. They got in politician's face, one from their own party and changed the script at his rally.
Here is the video of those screaming, crazy women at Sanders event
There are few other videos and these people are crazy and disturbing to watch.
Did anyone notice that some of the BLM protesters were whiter than Bernine? What's up with that? Is Rachel Doleza back at it?
"They got in politician's face, one from their own party and changed the script at his rally."
Why do you think they weren't thrown off the stage ? Do you think their argument was so well structured ? Or maybe the metrosexuals who run that party are afraid of a couple of women. Rioting is setting the tone, then you get in their faces.
I'm not suggesting shrieking harpies are the answer, although at this point I'm willing to give it a try. But you see my point about how the Republican Party has learned it can treat conservatives, empty words and broken promises, yet we still vote for them come election day. The point is to find a way to change that.
although at this point I'm willing to give it a try
You had better take a look at the video I posted. I find it extremely disturbing.
" The point is to find a way to change that."
The Tea Party, before it was knee capped by the IRS, was working on taking over local committees. Thats the way to make the party responsive. Not demagogues. The Democrats are better at that anyway,
"You had better take a look at the video I posted. I find it extremely disturbing."
Are you telling me the image of McConnell or Boehner fleeing the stage, pursued by a couple of righteously angry mothers whose children's future has been mortgaged by Congress doesn't appeal to you? I would love to see that.
"The Tea Party, before it was knee capped by the IRS"
Republican candidates aren't being accosted by conservatives demanding to know why the IRS is getting away with targeting them. Maybe they should be yelled at.
"taking over local committees. That's the way to make the party responsive."
You're right, and I think its actually happening, maybe faster than it seems, but watching the Republican Party attack its own base makes me to punch back.
@Bob Boyd, let me know when that happens. I am disgusted by the women trying to chew off the head of the organizer in that video. I find their anger, their MO extremely disturbing.
"He'd just buttered up Seattle by calling it 'one of the most progressive cities in the United States of America,' when 2 ladies 'walked onstage and grabbed the microphone':"
I didn't see 2 ladies. I saw 2 rude screaming shrews.
Should change their name to "Black lives are the only one's that matter". Sheesh.
I do have one thing in common with the fake black women, in that progressives are bad people.
It should be obvious to anyone that you shouldn't pander to the Black Lives (only) Matter crowd as there is no limit to the demands they will make on you. BLM is so stupid that they don't realize that Bernie is friend of their's.
Thanks for the link to that video pm137--watching it made me feel sorry for poor ol' Bernie!
One of the women who forced her way on stage to take over the mic shouted "don't tell me what to do!" to the old guy trying to prevent chaos. It's something a toddler would yell, sure but also so perfectly ironic as to be nearly Orwellian.
That, by the way, is behavior of a person unafraid of getting punched in the mouth. Bill Burr and Key & Peele both highlight a difference in what you might call argumentation style between men & women--the upshot being that someone who has no fear of physical violence in response to their words and actions will say and do much more extreme things. Shouting into the face of an elderly person as you bully them off the stage, as seen in this video, is just one example. Doubtless these protesters' dual classification (both as women AND racial minorities) make them doubly insulated from the consequences of their actions.
On the other hand, of course, it was 60-style radicals like Sanders who mainstreamed ideas about taking over spaces (lockouts, sit ins at colleges, etc), so there is also a chickens coming home to roost dynamic at work.
"We are reasonable," they violently shouted while gesticulating into the face of the elderly man.
Is pointing out their childish, aggressive, almost animalistic behavior in any way "ugly?"
But in this hypothetical nation that Sanders envisions, the one in which we do all stand together, there'd be a hell of a lot of things we wouldn't be able to accomplish.
Sanders is running for president. You seem a bit unclear on the concept here.
The gang here looks like an organized dirty trick by Clinton operatives, or more likely those of the administration clique. I bet its the administration or their backers. They don't seem to like Sanders or Clinton.
I don't blame blacks for being extremely frustrated and angry. Their situation never seems to get any better. Their party......
That is the problem right there. If you are smart, you do not restrict your political support to one party. It is why people like Trump support both parties, that way whoever wins, you win.
If for some reason you do restrict your political support to one party, you probably shouldn't pick the one that has spent most of its history discriminating against you, and literally fighting to keep you in chains. (especially when the other party was formed explicitly to free you from your chains).
The only people Blacks have to blame are themselves.
White People aren't forcing Blacks to vote %90+ for Democrats.
White people aren't marching Black women to the abortion clinics, or preventing Black couple from getting married.
White people aren't forcing Black kids to gun each other down in the streets everyday.
White people didn't invent the term "acting White" to describe Black kids doing well in school.
"White people didn't invent the term "acting White" to describe Black kids doing well in school."
Again, my 9:46 comment.
Satire more Truthful than Truth.
I am Laslo.
If Sanders can't deal with Black Lives Matter protesters how's he going to deal with Iran?
That being said, as much as I despise the guy, Black Lives Matter are jumping the shark. They're just finding places to agitate. Apple stores, diners, Bernie Sanders protests. There is no rhyme or reason to it, they are just acting like assholes.
Granted, I enjoy BLM acting this way towards socialist democrats trying to run for president. Because even THEY can't escape their whiteness.
Even they have to atone and they are the supposed "Good non racist whites" .I hear a lot of liberals complaining about how BLM protesters should instead bug the republicans because THEY are the bad whites who hate blacks. No, its time for you to eat the white racism sandwhich served up to to you as white people. You thought you were above such things since you are liberals. But social justice warriors think you have white privilege no matter what you do. You cant atone for the sin of being Whitey. So, eat that sandhwich and stop denying that YOU are part of the problem.
Maybe the libs will eventually get sick of the endless race card playing too. Until then, I guess Sanders has to keep ducking out every time they try to disrupt one of his events.
"Here is the video of those screaming, crazy women at Sanders event"
Liberals are just now getting a dose of the crazy and seeing how crazy crazy actually is. But here's the thing liberals. This is YOU at every rally. You're going to be the ones wearing the tin foil hats, and throwing the race cars, or the sexism cards or the homophobia cards EVERY SINGLE TIME.
That's how you lefties agitate. Looks crazy, doesn't it?
Because YOU ARE CRAZY.
Ron Winkleheimer, Michael Brown was left in the street for four and a half hours because the thugs and savages in the street wouldn't let the body crew do their job safely. They arrived at the scene about an hour after the shooting, but the stupid, angry, violent, racist, self righteous mob wouldn't let them do their job. Then they got to complain about a "problem" they themselves caused. I predict Black fascism will be the coming, possibly dominant force in American politics soon.
I predict Black fascism will be the coming, possibly dominant force in American politics soon.
It'll never happen. There's just not enough Black people around to make it work.
They might succeed in destroying the Democratic Party however.
"Bernie Sanders didn't want to stand too close to Marissa Johnson"
I'm telling ya..that Bern Balm deodorant ain't all it's cracked up to be.
Media will protect the democrats. Tea Party was a bunch of nice people making mostly respectful arguments. The media held them up as violent crazies. The true violent crazies with BLM and occupy Wall Street other liberal wackos are ignored and forgotten by the media. It will continue to happen.

Sanders is running for president. You seem a bit unclear on the concept here.
Perhaps Althouse doesn't appreciate that Sanders is actually the best "Plan B" that Dems have right now. It's either him or "get the hell behind Hillary." Dems should be going through an existential crisis now but their heads are still buried.
Paglia was so right when she observed how inhibiting Hillary has been on fresh Dem talent.
Because Dems so readily accepted change as the path forward with Obama, they must either accept his agenda as the status quo (which is their wont to do so far) or propose some serious change (reversion to the norm).
I see inertia and actual party vote-switching from D to R instead.
Sanders is actually the best "Plan B" that Dems have right now.
So you're saying that the Democrat's best second choice is....not a Democrat.
If you're aren't going to vote for a Democrat, you might as well give the Republicans a shot......
Paglia was so right when she observed how inhibiting Hillary has been on fresh Dem talent.
It's not just Hillary. It's that whole generation of Democrats..Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Schumer, et al.
The only young Democratic talent was Anthony "would you like to see a picture of my penis" Weiner (too perfect..God does have a sense of humor) and Debbie "Dumber than a box of rocks" Wasserman Schultz.
There are no farm teams down at the state level...except for the bluest of the blue, the states are red now.
There are a couple of frustrating things here.for one, someone called the movement a stalking horse for Hillary? How does she take out Sanders (O'Malley, etc) without moving so far to the left that even CA, NY, etc are in play? You get the black community to doit for you. I think it notable that the only major Dem politician running right now spared this is the front runner. And she is probably immune from this being married to the First Black President.
Second, this is a reaction to how badly the Dems have screwed the Black community. But they are aiming at the wrong problem. It isn't that the police discriminate against Blacks, so much that so many black males are raised as violent criminals, disconnected to the rest of American society, and part of this is govt subsidizidation of fatherless childbearing and childrearing. And, yes, a lot of Black jobs have gone to illegal aliens. Most of this country is pretty safe, but black inner city neighborhoods are often some of the most violent places on this planet.
Which brings me to my third point, that these martyrs almost inevitably crossed the line of acceptable behavior for the greater American society when they died. Big Mike Brown had punched a cop, tried to take his gun, then died as he repeatedly refused to stop advancing on that officer, with obvious violent intent. Trayvon Martin was shot right after he had beat George Zimmerman's head into a concrete walk, then tried to strangle him. And the latest, an officer being dragged by a guy who had had his license revoked after better than a dozen DUIs. The driver was stopped for a minor offense, but it escalated to his death when he was asked to step out of his car, presumably to be arrested for driving with a revoked license, possibly a stolen car, possibly DUI (there appears to have been an open container of alcohol in that car), and instead, restarted the car to drive off. Notice the commonalities - the decedents were Black, and were doing stuff that most of us think should get people sent to prison for long stretches (all three had arguably committed attempted murder immediately before their deaths).
Final note - a SF progressive was opining about the latter case in the Missoulan yesterday. It was a complete whitewash, ignoring completely why the guy died, and stating her opinion as fact (in particular one version of the video as accepted fact, despite being contrary to what many of us saw. The intentional misinformation here is frankly scary.
Sounds like the Black Lives crowd might be catching on to the fact that white progressives are the masters of the 21st century plantation
Can't Bernie just eat his pancakes?
The "Black Lives Matter" is a totally dishonest movement (and here, probably, aligned with Hillary Clinton)
And the only thing they really want is more crime. They have come pretty close to saying so.

There are probably actual political ties. The Clintons, for instance, are close to Al Sharpton. Maybe you didn't know that. But they are.
The thing that binds them all together, of course, is corruption.
It isn't that the police discriminate against Blacks, so much that so many black males are raised as violent criminals, disconnected to the rest of American society, and part of this is govt subsidizidation of fatherless childbearing and childrearing.
The main problem actually is public schools that don't teach. When that hapepnes, what is true of jails, that people learn to become criminals there, becomes true of schools.
Good parents, or a strong religious background (which correlates well with marriage) can prevent a lot of that.
Outside of the "hood" though, it isn't necessary.
Children that nobody pays attention still are unlikely to become thugs. There's no catalyst.
Failing good families, law enforcement can prevent it, or prervents things from getting too bad, but that is exactly what, of course, the "Black Lives Matter" movement is against!
They've openly and even strongly come out against "Broken Windows" or "Stop and Frisk" - which can of course amount to harassment, but still.
The intentional misinformation here is frankly scary.
As I said,
the "Black Lives Matter" movement" is a dishonest movement.
That's the first thinbg to say.
It cannot, and must not, be given any credibility. (which is a problem, because too many people have conceded that point)
It cannot be compromised with - except maybe in a way that allows street crime to flourish in the black areas.
I would not say I am cynical - I am simply describing a fact.
There are a number of ways to make money from crime, and a high crime rate also helps maintain racial uniformity of legislative districts. Nobody moves in, in spite of the lower rents. The districts lose population, as people vote with their feet but the Voting Rights Act, as interpreted, prevents the black (or sometimes, Hispanic) incumbents from being harmed.
A high crime rate also keeps well-to-do people out of the district, so there really aren't any decent challengers to incumbents.
And people can have more ability to steal without going to jail, so they can pay for drugs - or maybe even some things that are legal, but which they ordinarily couldn't afford.
Meanwhile, the people who profit from crime, or from government poverty related programs, make campaign contribitions.
This is the reason you find all or most incumbents in favor of the pro-crime agenda. Barack Obama was too, while he was a state legislator, although the pro-crime agenda in his time was less ambitious.
Make no mistake - what we have here is nothing than a pro-crime agenda, even if there could be some other reasons for some proposals, even if some of them are actually close to good ideas. Long jail sentences are a very inefficient way of dealing with crime. But they don't really want any good ideas used.
Most of this country is pretty safe, but black inner city neighborhoods are often some of the most violent places on this planet.
There are worse places. South Africa has many worse places. Not to mention places that are bad for other reasons than anything prevalent in the United States.
Nelson Mandela was not a person who care about his country. He kept whatever he had agreed with the white apartheid regime - and that's all. When his successor went completely loony about AIDS, he said nothing. And he allowed anything to happen in the areas that were the base of the ANC.
these martyrs almost inevitably crossed the line of acceptable behavior for the greater American society when they died. Big Mike Brown had punched a cop, tried to take his gun, then died as he repeatedly refused to stop advancing on that officer, with obvious violent intent. Trayvon Martin was shot right after he had beat George Zimmerman's head into a concrete walk, then tried to strangle him.
No problem. All they have to do is lie about that.
They select cases where:
1) The black man killed did not have a gun.
2) He was killed by a police officer, preferably white.
3) The policeman was not prosecuted.
the latest, an officer being dragged by a guy who had had his license revoked after better than a dozen DUIs.
However, the policeman actually did not act properly. He was arrested, actually, in fact, if that is the case I am thinking about. He claimed he shot because he was dragged while the video seems to show he was dragged because he had shot the man in the head. They've moved on to other cases, for the most part.
There's now a case that involves somebody who crashed into a car dealership and then more happened.
And, yes, a lot of Black jobs have gone to illegal aliens.
Not really, ands not necessarily illegal ones. This happens in places where a large segment of the population speaks a different language - there is a benefit to being bilingual. Plus the young males are less likely to steal or goof off.
But the real thing that has kept black employment low is the minimum wage, since the time it was extended to menial jobs, which is 1951.
To this now we add Medicaid, with its qualification rules.
Gahrie re Blacks brought this on themselves. Today's protesters are frustrated that their pleas are not welcomed with the righteous zeal of their grandparents' back in the early 1960's. They wonder why today's younger generation just doesn't seem to care. I think a lot of young progressives are fatigued with black complaints coupled with enduring black dependence and black crime. No, they won't stand in a school house door and proclaim segregation forever, but they do quietly vote with their feet and how they live their lives. A few of Sen Sanders supporters yelled profanities but most just adroitly remained silent content to wait it out - much as they avoid making eye contact with the homeless and walking on by.
Black protesters think they are entitled to so much, including their grandparents' mantle of preferred societal victim -- but that does not translate across generations. Myself, I'm in my mid-fifties. Jim Crow and the civil rights era only exists for me in scratchy old black and white documentaries. My lifetime experience, like that of those younger than me. is one of black bullyism, welfare dependency, social crassness, violent flash mobs, and leading the league in just about every metric for anti-social behavior. It hard for me to sympathize with a community that seems so opposed to basic virtues, yet wants the government to confiscate a large portion of my earnings to fund ineffective programs aimed a ameliorating the inevitable negative consequences of that community's chosen a-mores.
Sammy, Officer Tensing was dragged BEFORE he shot DuBose in the head. That the video shows no movement of the car from his camera POV is, wait for it, because his camera was moving along with the car BECAUSE HE AND THE CAMERA WERE BEING DRAGGED. DuBose got what was coming to him. Sammy, do you really think Tensing scraped alongside the car and spun around, landing on the street on his ass, for fun?
Gahrie, there ARE enough blacks to make black fascism a dominant force. Do you think fascism is democratic? All they need is a divided white population (check) a large contingent of violent, aggrieved, ignorant and self-righteous blacks (check) enough other minorities on their side (check) enough guilty white SJWs to help them out (check) and a large enough population of apathetic and passive whites (maybe).
Maurice Clemmons is no doubt a martyr to these...people.
Sammy - what CCB said. My memory is that the officer was charged maybe 3 days after the incident, which many believe to have been far too quicky to have been based on the facts, which suggests that charging the officer was polital, and not based on the facts. Kinda like what Mosby did in Baltimore.
I think that they BLM crowd is going to get their trial, but if I could put money on it right now, I would bet against a conviction. Likely based on self defense (which the prosecutor here would need to disprove beyond a reasonable doubt), but also possibly as a legally justified shooting of an escaping felon who would endanger the public (here as a flagrantly repetitive DUI). Remember, the dead civilian was illegally driving (a vehicle that wasn't his), after having had his license revoked for a high number of DUIs, and was essentially shot when trying to illegally drive off to escape being arrested. And that is part of my problem with using him as a BLM martyr - if you can't get people off the street by arresting those who appear to have been drinking, but don't have a license due to multiple DUIs, then how do you do it? If they can just drive off after being stopped by the police, how do you stop them?
Whoops - DuBois died in Ohio, the one state where the state only needs to disprove self-defense by a preponderance of the evidence. The other 49+DC require beyond a reasonable doubt. And need to do more research on arrest powers. I somehow got it in my mind that we were back in MO, where Big Mike Brown died.
A couple more factoids and the like about DuBose. For one, why was he driving a car that he didn't own (it is maybe owned by his sister). Maybe part of it is due to weird Ohio laws. First, with as many DUIs under his belt that he supposedly had, any vehicle that he owned would have to have special yellow and red DUI plates. Nothing like being under a police microscope. As I understand it, the plates used to be discretionary, but too many judges were not ordering DUIs to use them, so they became mandatory for those with multiple DUIs. Another is that those caught again at his level may have their cars impounded and ultimately confiscated. Indeed, this may have happened already, which would explain him not having a car.
Ohio seems to have vigorously adopted MADD's agenda when it comes to DUIs (called OVI there). They have the usual .08% BAC limits, but it is .02% for those under 21 and .04% for commercial drivers. And essentially extreme DUI above .16%. A number of those who have watched the video think that DuBose was in that territory, but we won't really know until we see the results of the autopsy. Another part of this is license suspension, which is interesting because the various levels of repeat DUI (OVI) have different levels of both administrative and judicial license suspensions. I think that the idea is that judges can throw the book at DUIs they convict, but can't completely waive license suspension. Oh, and they have the power to order lifetime suspensions for those at lower levels than DuBose appears to have obtained. Oh, and I forgot the rapidly increasing mandatory jail time as the DUI reoffends.
Normally, driving on a suspended or revoked license is a misdemeanor, which means that it is a crime, just not one that will get you sent to prison. Rather, that usually means county jail. But, it can be a felony if someone has as many DUIs as DuBose apparently had. That is above and beyond anything that would result from violating parole, etc., if applicable.
So, why did DuBose appear to be trying to run away from the cops, restarting his car and putting it in gear, contrary to the orders of the cop? I would suspect that the mandatory jail time, and maybe even some prison time, resulting from his driving with a license suspended or revoked for multiple DUIs might have factored in. And esp if he were again driving drunk, as some think based on the video. At his level of reoffense, he was looking at a mandatory year or so, even if the driving w/o a license were ignored. Alcohol also tends to impair judgement, which may explain why he tried to drive off, as he apparently did.
As I asked above, should the cops have let him just drive off, based on the color of his skin, after the state of Ohio had determined that he was too dangerous to let drive on their roads?
