I was thinking, as I was walking the dog -- what a glorious night it would be to be paddleboarding on Wingra. But I didn't go down. Spent the time talking to neighbors instead.

Holy shit I am watching "Betrayed" (1988) and it makes "The Hudsucker Proxy" reductive yet even better in more profound ways, something, alas in this day and age, I had previously given up on.

"Mad Men" was probably based on the collective memory of greatness unspoken of (about on the streets or the papers) yet scene and heard amongst the writers of MM.

Laying dormant on the minds of those whom power had descended celluloid-wise.

I mean c'mon, John Mahoney was in both.

So.

You know.

Patent isn't King until the King says "make me laugh."

Hah.

(Hah hereby intended to mean greater than the mere 'ha' for reasons I couldn't elaborate more unless I get paid more)

We all know now Barack's promises in the Middle East are shit.

But what about Bobby Jindal?

Did I spell that properly?

In any event, after perhaps the most perfect link in a (measure of time I will not show you yet*) Althouse comment section I remember--save the few always performing far beyond par--I read the entire damn article from 1983 about fucking cunt Gahndi.

Or however the fuck spells his shit.

Nobody is smart enough but me to come up with this so I will:

Jindal rules America with an eye toward India becoming, with Roman Catholic dignity for all, no matter their unAmerican attributes and their history, and, quite entirely 100% unlike Iraq, it works so unabashedly great even evil Democrat forces (cf. Vietnam/Iraq) can't fuck it all up?

Obama is remembered as a great man, who brought America into the 21st Century.

Fair enough.

Guildofcannonballs म्हणाले...

Anyone within grasps of decent history, not fucked history, will understand India releasing a billion persons from their caste will be much, much, incredibly-moreso successful than Tom Friedman and China's despotism.

Bobby Jindal 2016!

You wanna talk trade?

With Bobby Jindal?

Do you?

Do you really?

The absolute best is Jindal/Fiorina with Ted Cruz promised as SOS.

There really couldn't be any other-than-God explanation for my remembering but not integrating the film about the dingus-wise theological lessons unprofound.

Gotta be profound.

Any way to wiggle around the two-year statute of limitations for misrepresentation by a medical professional? Would there be any way to gain standing?

My heart goes out to the Dalits. Solving the caste system is a formidable goal.

P.S. -- Thanks Wildswan for the germ of a novel. It's having fun living up here in my head.

Prettiest urban lake? Meade, get thee to Seattle. Green Lake, Lake Union and especially Lake Washington would like to have a word for you.

Oddly enough, I just read this passage last night:

Since most of the city clings to the sides of hills that rise from lake and bay and river, there is always a view. Lake Washington is to the east, at Seattle's back door. It makes a good backyard. It is a long and lovely lake, still marked with the wilderness though highways encircle it and a floating bridge of concrete spans it. The racing shells of the University of Washington practice on it, and estates and mills and small homes and a naval air station stand on the shore. "A mountain lake at sea level," a visitor called it sixty years ago, when most of the shore was still outside city limits. It still feels like a mountain lake.

page 66, Reading Seattle: The City in Prose; a couple references there are a bit out of date as our resident Seattlites (I believe madashell and maybe Chris N?) will notice. And that passage does not even mention Mount Rainier, of which one has a stunning view while crossing the lake between Mercer Island and Bellevue.

But I'm sure Lake Wingra is very pretty. *pat pat pat*

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

Pants, the nice thing about Wingra, that makes it beautiful, is that it is surrounded entirely by forests mostly (and 2 parks). It has beautiful sight lines: if you're on it, very easy to convince yourself you're not in a city.
