Yogi the black bear is caught on camera raiding a freezer for a tasty pie - after tossing out several packs of veggies
This Yogi might be smarter than the average bear, but he sure doesn't eat healthier. A couple in British Columbia, Canada, captured video of a black bear raiding their freezer for a pie - after tossing out several packages of vegetables first.
The reason that bears don't require rhubarb pie is because they never feel the need to rid themselves of the taste of pain and humiliation. They just look for the next tasty pie.
I love rhubarb pie w/ ice cream. The only place we could drive to lunch @ my high school and still get back in time for class was a Marie Calendar's. That meant a slice of rhubarb pie a la mode. Ppl I've met from the South think of it as a pie their grandmother made that's too country for them now. Blue state Whole Foodies, meanwhile, have discovered it.

Colorado: legal marijuana.
A bakery cleared of sweets.
The bear was stoned.
I am Laslo.
Hey. Everybody could use a little more rhubarb pie. It's the king of pies.
@Kylos: I agree! I saw "rhubarb pie" and my mouth started to water. Throw some strawberries in there if you're wussy about it.
That's impressive. ... BEARRY IMPRESSIVE.
He did, however, lick the rhubarb pie.
Rhubarb pie is glorious. Especially since bears leave them alone in the upcoming bear apocalypse.
I love rhubarb pie. Also rhubarb jam.
Bearpocalypse?
Bearnado!
The joke's on the bear because it was one of the strawberry-and-rhubarb pies that contained the golden ticket.
Call the dentist.
He'll know what to do.
That must have been a heck of a pic-a-nic basket.
@Scott, yep. Strawberries are unnecessary.
A brief history of rhubarb, with pictures.
Perhaps we can say the cherry and apple were all 'black-beary' pies?
Forgive me.
I don't think the rangers gonna like that...
Ranger Smith took all the rhubarb pies. Civil asset forfeiture. They might have been made with the profits of illegal drug dealing.
It's the gay mafia again.

I've always been told that rhubarb should not be harvested in the summer, although the reason given is lost in my memory.
Is that a fable?
Hey Boo Boo!
Maybe the bear ate rhubarb in the past but ate the whole plant (including the leaves), got sick, and was left with a "don't eat that again!" memory?
Lions and Tigers and now Bears! Oh My or is it Oz?
@greg, don't forget the Fox!

Big Mike, what does the fox say?
Comments at the link include two impassioned pleas that the bear not be killed, despite it's demonstrated lack of fear of humans.
I'd say that any bear who won't eat a strawberry-rhubarb pie is likely to be real trouble, and relocation at a minimum is called for in this case.
@greg, the Fox says it's going to accommodate all the candidates in a two-tiered debate.
Let me guess:
The baker refused to bake a pie for the same-sex bear wedding?
Are the authorities sure it wasn't Meade?
Wait! I love rhubarb pie.

The bear is so wrong.
Rhubarb pie is not for everyone. That's fine, since it leaves more for the people it's meant for.
"It was Jeremiah's job to guard the rhubarb, but he never knew why." - Gary Larson, in The Prehistory of the Far Side
Good. That leaves more for me.
Duh, it is a pie that makes me gag. Give me cherry pie any time.
Come to Pie and Burger in Pasadena and feast on their deliciousness.

Birkel: "Let me guess: The baker refused to bake a pie for the same-sex bear wedding?"
Winner.
Rhubarb Pie is only for people who are above average.
I would have eaten the rhubarb pie first...ahhh crap. Now I want a rhubarb pie!

Could have made a Rhu-Paul pie.
Who needs the pie crust. Just give me a bowl of stewed rhubarb and I'm happy. Add some custard if you are feeling especially British-y.
Rhubarb custard pie is too good for all but ee,=!
"I've always been told that rhubarb should not be harvested in the summer, although the reason given is lost in my memory."
Rhubarb gets picked in late May & June. I consider June to be a summer month here in WI.
But, I see from prior posts you are wrong about many political issues so it doesn't surprise me you are wrong here, too.
Oh, and rhubarb kuchen is better than rhubarb pie!
