"Portland hipsters celebrating, mourning beloved airport carpet before its removal."

"News of the removal of the green, blue and pink geometric-patterned floor, set to be completed this fall, has triggered an overwhelming response from fans worldwide... There are over 42,000 photos of the flooring with the #pdxcarpet hashtag on Instagram alone."

I've had the same carpets since new in 1975, revised only by four generations of Dobermans discovering shag carpet tearing up as a forbidden pleasure.

There's been ad hoc shag carpet repair four times.

Hint for shag carpet repair: locate an obscure corner with furniture on it, move furniture over problem area.

Come friendly bombs and fall on Portland!
It isn't fit for humans now...
