I remember that when my granny was 65 years old, and I was living with her as a child, she always obsessed about death. Death was everywhere. My grandpa would come home from work and she would confront him as he came through the door, "The horoscope said I was going to die today!" "Oh Jesus, Dutch," he would mutter wearily. She spent more of her life thinking about death than three of my lifetimes put together at that age. And, in fact, she would continue to live for 19 years after my grandfather died. I learned from her that one should not spend life focused on death any more than one should throw food down a drain. When someone dies young, it always underlines that lesson for me.
Two thoughts. The first is that there seems to be a very high rate of child stars that have problems later in life. Are they being exploited for their cuteness?
The second is that he has an identical twin. I can't imagine how hard that would be for the surviving twin.
I wonder what the suicide rate is for twins. For some reason, I would guess it would be lower. Then I wonder what the rate is for a twin after one of them has already committed suicide.
I found my own answers. Twins have a lower suicide rate. If one commits suicide, the rate of for the other is 17.5 times higher. The study suggested it was due to hereditary issues rather than one depressed over the loss of their identical sibling.
I have to admit, the only reason I watched the show was to watch Patricia Heaton as a voyeur. Her behind actually jiggled at times, and the cameraman was always ready for it, as she flopped around the bed.
I think she is only 5 feet tall, but packed correctly in all the right places.
What put me over the top, was her big ears. Oh my!
He commits suicide and those who know him at all take the occasion to note what a great ass his better known costar had. No sawyer can sweeten the bitter wood chips of the twisted lumber of humanity as they fall into your morning coffee.

I love you, garage mahal.
Not every child actor can become the next Anthony Michael Hall.
I am Laslo.

Never understood the presumptuous title of that show.
And is this the consequence of Raymond demanding too much "Love" for himself?

I agree with EDH. I never understood the popularity of the show. Being mean to each other doesn't seem to me to make for good comedy.
Being mean to each other makes for great comedy. Have you never seen Seinfeld?

Now, that right there is funny.
Looked for suicide tag. Saw suicide tag.

Thanks. I was wondering the same thing about twins and suicide and your answers were as I had guessed.

EDH - the title comes from Raymond's brother who thinks Raymond gets all the breaks and is favored by his mother. Based on his actual family.
I loved the performance from Doris Roberts as the Grandma/mother-in-law. A master of the backhanded compliment, she reminded me of my own grandmother.
Sad. I don't know if child actors get into more trouble than the average person or if we just know about it.

It's sad when a young person commits suicide. Some friends lost their son this way. He was a nice young man and going to college at the time.
The identical twin aspect makes me think of the movie "Hereafter" which was pretty good. Amazing special effects the first ten minutes of it.
Identical twins in the story.
Curiously not related, the last name Sweeten/in is bad news for child actors.
