MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry asks Eric Holder to quack like a duck.

"You know, we call you ‘The Duck’ in nerdland... Would you quack for us?"

ADDED: Don't forget that Melissa Harris-Perry is "America's foremost public intellectual."

I hope he said No.

Two absurd people who are serving evil.

That's OK because since it was on MSNBC, no one was watching. How does that network stay in business? Is it a money-laundering operation or something?

When will this "nerd" nonsense end? The people who propagate this--nerdland, nerd prom, etc.--have about as much in common with actual nerds as Gallagher does with Molière.

Sometimes I don't go to the link, but I thought you might be misrepresenting and I apologize. It really was that stupid.

Unknown said...

have you thought of maybe a "walks like duck, quacks like a duck" tag?

Is the entire American left wing bat shit crazy? I had hoped it was just the members of the Obama administration and the resident trolls on Althouse.blogspot

Yeah, I'm including you, garage.

I don't even want to know the context. What's important here is Holder is one of the most controversial AGs we've ever had, and there should be a lot to grill him on, and Harris-Perry decided to use her time this way.

Society is in full rot.

Holder said that in some Congressional hearings he got "pissed off", but he kept his cool. "Keeping cool" is apparently Holder's way of saying, "I didn't answer any of their legitimate questions about misconduct and abuses of power by the Obama Administration." I don't know whether that's "nerdspeech" or not.

What qualifies a person to be called an "intellectual?" The word seems more often used as a job title than an actual description

Oh please, everybody knows Holder is the greatest AG in US history. Just like Hillary is the finest Secretary of State (said our president). Back to back blockbuster appointments is, of course, what we expect from this country's greatest president (says Rolling Stone).

Who declared her as such?

MSNBC like most of the rest of the money-losing news operations are not meant to make a profit, but are political assets.
They are playing pieces on the chessboard of political and bureaucratic games. MS subsidizes MSNBC as their point of leverage vs being attacked like they were in the 1990's by the Clinton justice department. Joe Biden, the fellow who so often lets the cat out of the bag, said it was the result of MS not bothering to lobby in Washington - that is, to pay protection money. MSNBC is protection money.
The NYT is owned by Carlos Slim and WaPo by Jeff Bezos for similar reasons (not that they will admit it) . I suspect a little digging on the rest will find the same pattern.

"Don't forget that Melissa Harris-Perry is "America's foremost public intellectual."

That was evident from that time she did a broadcast with tampons for earrings.

Basically through this fowl metaphor MHP is saying there's much activity being hidden below the surface at DOJ.

Whether you think that covert activity is good or bad, why all the hiding if it's truly in the service of justice?

As a new reporter, somebody should tell MHP that a "duck blind" is intended to hide the duck from the hunter, not the other way around.

That show is a parade of PhDs. But 50% of MHPs content is economics with 0% of her panelists being economists. I can't watch that drivel.

Speaking of newspeople, turns out Brian Williams has a peice of the chopper from Osamas compound. You can hear Brian make up this story while being interviewed on the Dan Patric show at soopermaexican.com, who was the guy who recently questioned the Katrina fairytales

Sesame Street's on MSNBC now?

Chuck said...

In an interview where Eric Holder is the subject and Melissa Harris-Perry is the questioner, "quacking like a duck" is probably the most thoughtful part.

Otherwise known as ducking the question.

What qualifies a person to be called an "intellectual?"

I am more interested in a solid definition for "anti-intellectual".

Hagar said...

Holder did not "duck" the questions; it was way beyond that.

There is a trope going around about whether a fish can tell that the water is wet that may apply to Holder and the company he keeps.

I am sure some U.S. Attorney(s) General have committed perjury before, but Eric Holder is certainly the only one to go on national TV and talk about it. And I don't think he realizes that there is something wrong about that.

or even odd.

He's a Marxist Race-baiter!! If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck.....

Never saw the Marx Brothers' movie about a race or bait.

Wait a minute, wasn't Cornell West "America's foremost public intellectual"? When did he lose the title?

Brando said...

Okay, that tears it. Since "America's foremost public intellectual" is obviously a meaningless title, I'm taking that for myself. Sorry Melissa Has-Pity, you lost it! You can read the Collective Works of Brando as your remedial assignment.

You're aware that it is little more than a clown show is WHY Holder appeared in the first place, right?

Serious people don't go to shows where hosts are noted for wearing tampon earrings.

James, it was Ta-Click-Click Coates

...which disqualifies Coates from the list of being who have the power to call others intellectuals.

Because if she is one...I cannot imagine what disqualifies one from being one outside of not agreeing with Coates.

Sounds like she got it precisely backwards: he ducks like a quack, that is, he ducks honest questions like a quack doctor trying to convince the medical board not to lift his medical license.

Rewrite:

Finally snagging an interview with Eric Holder, The Weekly Stand's William Krisco, asked the Attorney General to quack like a duck. This degrading treatment of the Attorney General of the United States, in an obnoxious and humiliating attempt to dehumanize him by equating him with an animal, is one of the most racist displays in the history of post-Jim Crow journalism. Krisco should be hounded out of Washington, his country club, and this fine nation. He should be tried in federal court for hate crimes and hung from the nearest yardarm.

The Fast and Furious operation attempted a totally false flag set up of Americn gun dealers as the source of Mexican Cartel violence so that a Treaty with Mexico and Obama could circumvent the Second Amendment.

It rests in the peace of a cover up that used a completely false rewritten set of facts as ordered by Holder. The man is only a criminal. And he is quite proud of himself for getting away with it.

Lewis Wetzel said...

The bar for "foremost public intellectual" is pretty low on the left.

This is an interesting question. What is going on?

Why do leftists rule the MSM? Really, why?

Is there money there?

buwaya said...

See my post above.
These media operations are political assets run at a loss in order to have a point of leverage. You can look at them as protection money.

Melissa Harris-Perry is synonymous with tampon earrings.

Lady Gaga, by the way, is not synonymous with tampon earrings. Boy George is not synonymous with tampon earrings, either. You're on your own, Melissa Harris-Perry.

And hey, this is television! It's a visual medium! So let's cut to the video.

There was an amusing outbreak in TNC land a couple of days ago. He must have left comments enabled before his suppression squad went to work. It was amusing, but they shut it down quick.

He is a buffoon.

Lately I have been channel surfing the cable news outlets to try and get out of my Fox News shell and I caught some of MHP show the other day. Yikes, the program was pretty terrible. I know being smart doesn't necessarily translate into good television, but I also didn't see any evidence of MHP's touted intellectual firepower.
