Excellent form for beach break as opposed to a point break or reef break regardless of the slushiness. No mush out there fer shure. I have friends who surf in Nantucket but not in the winter. Personally I have the rule of 60*. For each year over the age of 60 the water temp has to match that age before I'll paddle out. Currently the bar is set at 61*. There are good 6/5mm wetsuits that will handle water that cold but the difficulty is getting into or out of the wetsuit especially after age 60 when you lose flexibility to do it alone. Also an epoxy surfboard as opposed to a polyurethane board will float better and be stronger through the slush ice. Well if I was a Grom I'd be on it. Cowabunga dudes and dudettes. "Going right! Comin' down!" Not that anyone would be out there to shoulder hop my drop.
Yep, we see something like that most winters on Chesapeake Bay, but our waves aren't usually that dramatic. Here's what it looks like when it freezes up after the tide strands it:

Wow!
I would love to be there to see it and especially to touch it! Does it really feel like a slushie?
