Also the forehead was supposed to go straight up and down - not overhang or recede. This is what is meant by "regular" as in Tennyson where he describes a heartless, wealthy beauty - "faultily faultless, icily regular, splendidly null."

As usual they choose pretty people (mostly) to illustrate the point.
Seems to have a racial bias.

It discriminates against receding chins and flat noses.
Makes some sense in selecting for more European features among Asian populations.
