Social media reaction ranged from "Uhhhhhhhhh yes," and "I really don't see a problem here," on Facebook, to Twitter user "The headline isn't just @WhitecapsFC objectifies specific female fans, but also alienates females generally."So... some Twitter user exemplified the negative reaction that caused the team to take the video down.
After that, some professors commented on the incident, perhaps because the reporter called them up and asked them what they thought. Lisa Loutzenheiser, an associate professor at the University of British Columbia's Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy, found it surprising that the team would run an ad like this because it had gotten criticized a few years ago for an ad that showed a woman's body painted with team colors.
Rakhi Ruparelia, a law professor from the University of Ottawa, apparently confronted with the above-quoted tweet, said "I could see why this would alienate a lot of women." That's not much of a feminist critique, and in fact, you have to be or play dumb not to see that this kind of ad does alienate some females.
Finally, Janni Aragon of the University of Victoria's Political Science department, said: "It's almost like I'm watching the Baywatch opening." Blechh! I had to go watch a "Baywatch" opening on YouTube to process that quote. Actually, the ad is much more of a focus on female bodies than that "Baywatch" opening. The "Baywatch" opening had just as much male torso as female, and the torso clips were intercut with shots the ocean, the beach, and various emergency vehicles. The ad is only females, and the female torso on the left is especially riveting in the chestal area.
Now, back to The National Review with the headline "Feminists: Slow Motion Is 'Sexist.'" It linked to an article in which nobody said "feminist," nobody said "sexist," and nobody said "slow motion"! (The word "sexism" does appear in a second Canadian news article linked by The National Review, "Woman in Whitecaps video baffled by sexism controversy.")
The subheading at the National Review is: "Fans say a promo video for a soccer team reminds them of patriarchal, misogynistic Baywatch." The reference to "Baywatch" comes not from a fan but from a professor, and she's not quoted as calling "Baywatch" "patriarchal, misogynistic." We're invited to imagine raging, exaggerated females hurling tiresome buzzwords, but those words don't appear in the article. Ironically, it's The National Review that sounds tiresome and hysterical.
And it's just silly denial to pretend that ad didn't invite viewers to ogle the female body. If you want to say that's fine, go ahead. But if you want to drag in all that feminism talk, quote specific feminists and let me see your work. Don't supply the jargon yourself.
Did anyone talk about the slow motion? Watching that video, I steeled myself for some major bouncing of the large breasts on the left. But they were well-restrained. They showed tremendous restraint.

This is dumbing down porn. Come on. We can do better.
So let me get this straight: some white women chose what they wanted to wear in public, went to a public place wearing those clothes, and had an exuberant time. Viewing footage of this is now somehow wrong. The one on the left is too exuberant. Things white people have time for.
It is turtles all the way down.
First of all, the critics don't call themselves "feminists,"
So what?
if this was sexist then what can we say about that? lol
I'm sorry I clicked on this. Ugh !
White women not liking that other white women enjoy watching male sporting events: how dare they.
It is turtles all the way down.
I don't think anyone forced that woman on the left to wear a tight fitting top. She knew what she was doing. it's called choice.
These "progressive" feminists would what, force woman to wear burkas? Outlaw them from being shown on TV? Completely separate the sexest?
BTW, one of the reasons woman are fans of male sports is because they like looking at the muscular men clad in tight uniforms. Why aren't they call such sports sexist?
That is such a girl thing: "I can wear whatever I want, but if you look at me "wrong" when I'm wearing it, then you need to be punished."
Not enough bouncy-bouncy. Whitecaps FAIL.
Must be a Harvard woman. Well endowed.
White people, doing everything they can to turn basic human sexuality into an abstracted spiderweb of causes for protest, and they wonder why the white replacement birthrate gets lower and lower.
Even white people don't want any more white people.
Go, white feminists, go!
It is turtles all the way down...
@PB Reader
You see yourself as responding to something. What?
I mean specifically. Is it the National Review's phantom or something real. Quote the statements you think you are countering.
This is my issue here. If you think you are countering me, you are not. You are exemplifying the problem I am pointing out.
sean said…"That is such a girl thing: "I can wear whatever I want, but if you look at me "wrong" when I'm wearing it, then you need to be punished.""
Sean, you too. Who do you see yourself as arguing WITH? Quote the statements of actual individuals who are saying something that you think your comment is responsive to. Otherwise you are living in a dream world, with phantom enemies. That's a very bad place to be.
"Did anyone talk about the slow motion? Watching that video, I steeled myself for some major bouncing of the large breasts on the left. But they were well-restrained. They showed tremendous restraint."
I too was waiting for some serious bouncing, especially from the one on the left. I was thoroughly disappointed.
Otherwise you are living in a dream world, with phantom enemies. That's a very bad place to be.
Really? It has worked for the Democrats for the last seven years.....
What an innocuous video, I can't believe this is an issue. How bout these harridans go and find some NFL cheerleader video to cry and complain about.
Does anyone do useful work anymore?
"First of all, the critics don't call themselves "feminists," and second of all, even if they did purport to represent the amorphous category "feminists," they'd be Canadian feminists."
Parsing reality is good. Parsing nonsense?
That white Americans - the majority in this country - can so callously waste their time on such as this, is one big reason why this country is so screwed up. What is this?
I see old black women (70-80 years) surviving on the street, eating out of garbage cans, every day and so-called TRUE FEMINISTS are busying themselves with debating dim-witted ogres at The National Review over - it's so stupid I don't even know what to call it - semantics?
Good GOD, Woman, come to your senses! You're white showing total indifference to the death being dealt out as you fiddle. How is this different from Nazi Germany, Althouse? We know who has to know their place in both "societies" and it ain't white feminists. Figure it out:
How long must this despair go on before YOU AND YOUR ALL-POWERFUL WHITE LOBBY decide to stop it?
Or, am I mistaken, and this is just another example of how "practical" whites are about the situation?
The old "wait 'em out" strategy?
White Supremacy - Forever?
Parse THAT and get back to me,...
Soccer's World Cup challenge is wha tit is.

Parsimonious thought.
Under the surface the ad shows to young men that lusty women are turned on by watching games of men in athletic shorts so if you want to meet these hot chicks, then you need to attend our games.
That is simultaneously sexist and male oriented social life. In other words, it is great healthy entertainment.

There's the Sibelius Violin Concerto not recommended for violinists wardrobe problem, or let's take another look at those breasts.
Betamax vs crack.
It's not even a contest.
For the benefit of those who didn't click through: the phrase "raging, exaggerated females hurling tiresome buzzwords" does not appear in the NRO article. Inferring its lurking presence is acceptable for licensed professionals like Althouse; it's the hoi polloi who are restricted to direct quotes.
@rhhardin: You sure that's not in C minor?
"...And it's just silly denial to pretend that ad didn't invite viewers to ogle the female body. .."
What's the difference between 'ogling' and 'admiring'?
However overblown the controversy over the controversy may be, it's not nearly as stupid as the controversy. Sports advertising shows fans all the time. Now it's sexist if some of those fans are sexy?
And what about those sexy fans? They can't be in an ad because they're attractive? Sounds like discrimination to me.
Drago,
"Betamax vs crack.
It's not even a contest."
No, I don't think it is - so what's your point? Oh, I get it:
You don't HAVE a point, besides once again trying to "stick it to the black guy."
But you're not a racist, Drago.
You keep telling yourself that, ok?

Continuing the annalysis, I note that the three women appear to disparate amounts of beer in their cups yet there is no correlation with other physical features.

Betamax vs crack? Since Betamax decided to become less surreal, I've been fairly confident that Betamax IS Crack.
"Slow Motion Is 'Sexist.'"
A still image is both sexist and racist... if it shows people.
Whoops! I left out "have" in that last comment. Would "have" be pronounced "haff" or "hav"?
I have no idea what Prof. Althouse is talking about. My comment above responds to three of her fellow academics, named Lisa Loutzenheiser, Rakhi Ruparella, and Janni Aragon, who are named and quoted in the article to which National Review linked. I think they are fools, incapable of analytic thought or rational discourse. If Prof. Althouse disagrees, let her defend their statements, and explain why it's okay for the women in the ad to wear whatever they want in public, but not for other people to publish pictures of it.
Crack, you have just made my point about the left.
Feminism, gay rights, climate change, whale and rain forest saving, fracking, rape cultures, oppression of Palestine, what kids eat, campus speech codes, riparian buffers, internet regulation, bashing the NFL, bicycle paths, etc etc are the darling issues of the left these days. I see it where I live. Huge energy put into marginal environmental issues and virtually none into failing schools.
Is this a white people thing? Why, yes it is to a considerable degree. But the center of the energy is the white gentry self identified progressive. This is what fires these people up these days. The other stuff, like schools, violence, economic opportunity, social mobility are ignored. Who gives a shit when the Black Caucus raises questions on immigration and black underemployment? Get out of the way, Caucus, there are votes to he had here. We know your people aren't going to the Evil Republicans anyway.
The right has some interesting things to say about how to deal with some of these issues. Especially education and economic opportunity. These are hard questions which require some major structural changes by entrenched and powerful forces.
The left would rather embrace the issue of the month than deal with the really serious stuff. Just look at Madison, Wisconsin, it's school system, economic demography and politics if you want a good example. You can look it up on your iPhone.
Meanwhile, at the website "The Frisky," a ghastly entity who audience is presumably teenage girls, an article is running today titled "10 Celebrities Who Got Their Big Breaks in Porn."
Here is the lede:
"Look, if you want to do porn, that’s fine. Go do some porn, have fun. If that’s the life you want to live, or if you need the money, whatever, it’s your life. There’s no judgment here. Maybe you enjoy acting in porn movies or just really love having sex. That’s cool, do porn if doing porn is what you want to do."
(The original source is the unlubricious "Your Tango," and, of course, only two of the celebrities in the article were never involved in pornography.)
In any event, one might think women interested in upholding the morals of children would come down hard on a publication oriented at teenage readers telling readers to "go do some porn...there's no judgment here."
David,
"Crack, you have just made my point about the left."
If it was just the left I would say so - but "The National Review" is right there in the headline.
This is white supremacy rearing it's head for attention,...
Breasts are racist.
David,
Whites don't HAVE to do anything now - so they don't.
Lib or con or mod, they're little different from the racist whites who came before, if we judge from the results. Their priorities - like children screaming "you can't make me!" - are all that matter. No matter how irrelevant.
As the blood stain around them grows,...

I think the point is, Crack, that your material is starting to sound like a take off on what was originally betamax's spoof of your writing. You now seem to be doing a betamax impression, like you're pre-spoofing yourself.
But apparently, an 80-year-old woman is dying in the street, so for God's sake, do something.
Do you know that as you type each word, someone dies? Should we type more slowly, or, perhaps, express ourselves with more concision?
Ann Althouse,
"But apparently, an 80-year-old woman is dying in the street, so for God's sake, do something."
I do, with every post, with every word, with every breath.
And whites saying "take responsibility" after what they've done, and have refused to answer for or do anything about - for 400 years - is comedy gold.
Truly racial satire at it's best,...
As the blood stain around them grows,...
That reminded me of the time, many years ago, when I was about to board a train in Paris for Luxembourg to catch a flight home. I was carrying a magnum of homemade Barbera wine -- a gift and a sample of what I had enjoyed all summer long in Italy. I had carefully wrapped the bottle in towel and had it in an athletic bag -- it had safely made the train the trip from Torino to Paris. In my haste I put the bag down too hard on the concrete platform and a huge pool of red wine spread quickly in all directions...
Ann Althouse ,

Noted.
Ann Althouse,
"Do you know that as you type each word, someone dies?"
Yep, and I also hear whites say they won't do anything about reparations because the price tag is so high.
I really want to know the difference between this reasoning - devoid of law or ethics as it is - and those who contrived poll taxes to keep blacks from voting.

Telling the blacks, who whites impoverished, to lift themselves out of the poverty whites imposed on them.
Still waiting on the difference between that "logic" and an old racist sheriff's, telling an illiterate black ex-slave he can vote as long as he can recite the Constitution.
The whites, in both cases, KNOWS the blacks only have meager tools to work with, but they put the onus on their victims to fix those problems whites made for us.
In 2014, it's an incredible thing to behold.
But then, it's also nice to see how racism worked back-in-the-day, too:
It's the same way it does today,...

What if it had been something other than a sports team advertisement?
What if you put different labeling and voice-over on it, and ran it as an ad for JC Penny's fall womens' casual outdoor sportswear collection? I assure you that anyone can find more exposed skin, more emphasis on "chestal areas," in any JC Penny catalog than this ad shows, and that's been true at least as long as I've been alive.
Slow-motion is a video phenomenon. Right now both sports and sex are popular subjects to record and share on video. The novelty of the ad, its freshness if it has any, is tied up in that comic juxtaposition: "Oh, I get it, this is supposed to be like a sexy version of 'instant replay'!"
It's weak, but not mean.
It's hardly news or new that professional sports teams have used attractive, overtly and deliberately sexy women to help celebrate and promote them. Talk about your tempests in a silly, silly teapot!
Slate's on it:

Something, anything, but your maniacal focus trying to fill the hole and stop the hurt.
"you have to be or play dumb not to see that this kind of ad does alienate some females."
I will be dumb here, Althouse. Why does this ad alienate some females? That this can be Horribly Offensive seems to be taken for granted by you and all the "academics" quoted in the L-P article.
In contrast, here's one of the women shown in the video:
"Guedes, meanwhile, is incredulous to the idea that there is anything misogynistic contained in the 18-second slow-motion video of her cheering on her favourite team.
“What’s misogynistic is the fact that men are in the videos — and kids cheering for (the Whitecaps) — but not a couple of women,” Guedes said. “I am not offended by the video but (I am) adamantly offended by their removal of it.”"

Hey Crack, word on the street is that 80-year old woman is done with her appetizer. She needs you to write another blog post so she can have her entree. Give the old lady a break and throw a few more words into it so it will be a good sized meal. Oh, and maybe only breathe every paragraph. I hear she is on a diet and would appreciate it if you could make it low cal. Thanks!
Could this be a Benny Johnson (formerly of Buzzfeed) headline?
I don't understand this whole thing. Ann says every time Crack Emcee types a word someone dies? Gee what I would pay for that type of power? Do I get to pick who? I guess he doesn't because if so most of the other comments would cease (as the commenters would be dead) I guess he doesn't get that power because he's black... At least I think that's what he would say.
So random people must die so Crack can vent his spleen. So sad.
In my last, presumably vain, attempt to drag this thread back on track, I ask, "if this depiction of women is 'sexist', what depiction of women would be acceptable?"
*Women jumping and cheering, but at regular camera speed?
*Women cheering, but not jumping around?
*Women standing soberly, radiating the sense that they are just as capable as any man?
*Women in burkas, sitting quietly?
Seriously, WTF do these "academics" (that includes you, too, Althouse) want?
Crack, there's an established black critique of feminism called womanism, so it's a widely understood issue that feminism itself really is mostly about [relatively and sometimes entirely] privileged white women.
The critique from the Latina direction is Mujerista (at least in theology)
The Baywatch tie-in is fascinating.

It's not just the left. But the left is most dangerous, because they have to pretend that they are not part of it, when in fact they predominantly influence the apparatus (education) which is the greatest failure and does the most damage.
What a ludicrous hoo-ha about nothing. What a pack of masturbating turtles.

"I also hear whites say they won't do anything about reparations because the price tag is so high."
Not about the price. Reparations are stupid because my ancestors had as much to do with slavery as yours. Pay yourself?
That would be some epic trolling btw - go to black church congregations, the NAACP and BET and demand they start up a slavery reparations fund for the sins of their ancestors.
If you're going that way, GBI (global basic income) or GMI (guaranteed minimum income) is a better bet as a cause. It has the of benefit of being future-oriented and inclusive, given the changes the economy has been and will continue to undergo in the next decades.
@umairhaque in Harvard Business Review:
Note his last point about the disbelief of Americans at some European in-home services that mirrors the former disbelief of Soviets at the lack of breadlines in America back in the 20th century. I'm old enough to remember both.
Oh, forget it. I'll just quote: Remember this old story: a Soviet citizen arrives in the US at the height of the cold war. On arriving, he’s taken to the grocery store. He looks around, eyes wide, and exclaims, bewildered: “But there are no bread lines! How can this be?”. You see, everything he’d been told about the US was a lie. It wasn’t a land of decadence and barbarism; but, at that time, a land of plenty, of opportunity.
Now, in a grand irony of history, the shoe’s on the other foot. Here’s my new version of the story above.
I live in Europe and the US. I tell my friends in the US that in Europe, if you’re disabled, or seriously ill, or just elderly, many national health services will send carers to your house. That’s right; your house. To … care for you. Like the Soviet citizen of yesterday, my American friends of today say, bewildered: “But how can this be?! That’s impossible.”
Wrong. It’s not impossible. It’s precisely how real prosperity happen

In America, for instance, we think of slavery as forcing other people to work. In the meanest sense, this is correct. But we don't think of it as the perpetual destruction of family, the legitimization of rape, the legalization of torture. And we don't think of this period of enslavement as being longer than our period of freedom, and longer than the existence of the country itself. You need to slow it down to really get this. You need to have the history address you as though you are stupid.”</a>
I try, but it's tough when even what's left over from all that - the two-teir economy, segregation, jobs and housing discrimination, etc. - colorblind white supremacists consider "normal," and fight for.

It is a great image. Not sure what the immediate rationalization for complaining about it was, but I will say that it is wrong, unless they are using the images without the women's consent for monetary gain. I honestly don't care beyond enjoying yet one more depiction of female beauty on the internet, and I thank you for that.
I guess they pulled it down because it paid insufficient attention to Crack's obsessions.
tim in vermont,

Yeah, and Crack's obsessions have been that way since Frederick Douglass and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were duking it out.
And let's not forget gay-assed Bayard Rustin organizing The March On Washington - at MLK's specific request.
You ahistorical fools,...
I was expecting a lot more jiggling. I have to say, I'm dissappointed.
"You ahistorical fools,.."
So in your world, you are privy to absolute historical truth. You have examined the full sweep of history, considered all alternative versions and views and have objectively rejected them to arrive at your version, were you just happen to be owed a couple millions of dollars. Do I have that right?
Because if you haven't, then there are millions of other points of view that can discount your version as "ahistorical" with equal authority and authenticity.
David,

I don't know what "most dangerous" means:
If you're dead, with one guy screaming "nigger" in your face and one guy not, you're still dead.
The result, in regards to whites - left or right - is the same,..

They just can't present themselves, stand up under scrutiny, or resist revealing their racist roots.
I am soooo intimidated,..
Things really must be slow, if all people want to do is argue with Crack.

For some really unrestrained jiggly bouncing breast action, nothing beats the 1969 movie Putney Swope.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KioFuZl-ghg
I had to watch it just now strictly out of scientific interest. the effects of gravity on the uncovered female breast when trampolining are very interesting.
The section of most scientific interest starts about 1 minute in.
Am I the only one who remember this movie? I have no idea what it was about, other than something to do with advertising. And it had glorious bouncy breasts.
And there is even something for Peter in there.

I expect not.
Blacks used to kill other blacks and then keep their heads as souvenirs. So what? Your point is, Crack?
Surely there must be one in there.
As for covering furniture with Jews, it was not just the National Socialists. I went to a Jewish birthday party once as a child and all the furniture in their house was covered with Jews too.

In the US too
My mother in law dies earlier this year after a long decline. She was in her 90's and was not all there when she left us.
She was in her own house up to the end. She had family to help care for her (unlike Europe) but she also had a woman who came in every day for about 4 hours to help her.
Also a physical therapist every week or two and other carers. If my wife had been unable to take her to doctors, there is a transportation van that does this.
And so on.
Cared for in her own house!
Amazing.
In the US.
Of course it will not be a problem in the US in the future. Rahm Emmanuel's brother the doctor thinks there is no reason anyone should want to live past 75. He would probably have no problem with helping people along like in some European countries but it too polite to say so.
John Henry
I apologize, I do remember something else about Putney Swope.
It is about a white advertising agency taken over by a black man.
So there is that. Crack, the full movie is on Youtube, you should go watch it. Should be right up your alley.
John Henry
John,
"First I'd heard of whites binding books with black skin. Were these US whites? When? Got any references?
I expect not."
<a href="http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/9144128“>Why whites think we have a reason to lie - about who they are and what they've done - is puzzling.</a>
"Blacks used to kill other blacks and then keep their heads as souvenirs. So what? Your point is, Crack?"
Those would be Africans - not Americans born from slavery - a problem American white supremacists still can't get their heads around. <a href="http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/10/31/ted-cruzs-father-in-2012-send-obama-back-to-kenya/“>That's why they're always screaming for Obama to go back to Kenya</a> - blacks aren't Americans to racists. Still.
I'd hate to be as dumb as whites apparently are,...
And of course, John Henry, I know - now that I provided you with a link - you'll scurry back under a rock and act like no such thing happened.
White behavior - especially white cowardice regarding history - is predictable,..
John,
"I apologize, I do remember something else about Putney Swope.

It was when I was about 13.
Damn, y'all is late,...
Somehow, Crack highjacked a thread about bouncing boobs and the boobs who hyperventilate about them, and made it about racism and old women dying in the street. I think we have reached peak Crack.
Again, makes you wonder what racial sins are in Althouse's past to make her put up with this. Must have been really bad, for her to allow Crack's racist ramblings to disrupt her blog this way.
Let me attempt to put this thread back on track.
Crack cited an interesting old newspaper link citing a a 19th century story of a Philadelphia doctor who wore shoes made from dead human skin. He states among other things that he fought in the Civil War to "free the Negro" and that he had no particular prejudice against black people. He said that he would wear shoes made of white skin too but that it was inferior. Most importantly, he states that the skin was obtained from corpses at the morgue.
Ed Gein used to do similar things. He dug up fresh corpses in order to practice his bizarre taxidermy fetish. Eventually, Ed crossed a line and like the Nazis, actually killed the people they skinned. This is something that Crack's Philly "bigot" never did.
As for bringing the thread back on track, I note that Ed's fetishes included making and wearing "nipple belts" and "breast vests." He also had, at the time of his arrest, a box of farmer fannies "Fanny," in the British sense of the word.
Janni Aragon of the University of Victoria's Political Science department, said: Janni Aragon of the University of Victoria's Political Science department, said: "It's almost like I'm watching the Baywatch opening."
Let's learn about the English language, shall we? "It's almost like I'm watching the Baywatch opening."
This means that is is not the same as watching the Baywatch opening.
Baywatch last aired in 2001.
Exactly what does "Janni Aragon of the University of Victoria's Political Science department" add to the story that "Janni Aragon, convenience store cashier" does not?

She adds the learned harrumph factor.

Althouse: "First of all, the critics don't call themselves feminists"
Yes they do.
[posted upthread - links to three professors and twitter user proving they self-identify as feminists]
So why no correction? Or even acknowledgement that your "not feminists" assertion was false?
I mean, she took two posters to task for not doing their homework:
Is it the National Review's phantom or something real. Quote the statements you think you are countering.
But I did mine. Only took 10 mins too. So where is the correction? NR was right, Althouse was wrong.

Fen, don't you mean turtles, all the way down? :-)
"Feminists" say that "Slow Motion Is 'Sexist.'""
That is correct because nobody but a feminist would complains about that video. True Scotsman.
"I am soooo intimidated,.." - Crack
It is not about "intimidation" though it is interesting to note that that is the first place your mind goes.
I am not buying the guilt you are peddling, I am the child of a dirt poor Appalachian dirt farmer and war bride. I got where I am through hard work. I suppose I could have accepted your world view of the fundamental unfairness of a system that rewards education, IQ, and hard work and written it off as a rigged lottery the way you seem to. Where would that have left me? One more poor Democrat convinced that the world is against him.
I advocate a point of view that allows a person to succeed, you advocate a point of view that tries to make up for its near guarantee of failure to its adherents by promising to take money from the people who didn't buy into it.
BTW, your premise that printing new money is not taking money from others is just one more sign of your deeply, that's right, I said "deeply" ignorant miscomprehension of the economics that make life in a country like this possible.
Head to Venezuela, see how "reparations" are working out there!
"That is correct because nobody but a feminist would complains about that video. True Scotsman"
Except that I have already proven those cited in the article self-identify as feminists.
But like Althouse, you keep ignoring inconvenient facts.
/are we modding away inconvenient truths now?
"That is correct because nobody but a feminist would complains about that video. True Scotsman"
Except I've already proven that the women the article cites self-identify as feminists.
He said that he would wear shoes made of white skin too but that it was inferior.
Proving trolls have been pulling peoples legs long before the Internet.
But if you want to drag in all that feminism talk, quote specific feminists and let me see your work.
Did that. Proved they were all feminists. Still no correction by Althouse....
But sure, lets just bump it off this thread off the front page with a rash of spam postings.
Nothing to see here, move along now.
