Lena Durham's dress was awful. But maybe that's the look she was going for.

Mission Accomplished?

I do like the He said/She Said fashion column. Not as swell as Tara and Johnny though.

Ha!

She is disintegrating before our eyes into a spray of life blood. It is a dress that attracts zombies to the feast, but disgusts clean up crews.

Lena Dunham's looks like puss coming out of a zit. The first dress just proves that a pretty woman can wear just about anything.

Sure they do, sweetie.

I guess I'm dating myself but Hayden Pannetierre's maternity gown looks like a Jiffy Pop pan.

I think her stylist quit, and she dressed herself.

Blood spattered dresses are appropriate wear for horror show stars. She's making lemonade......Lena Dunham's dress is spectacularly hideous. Maybe it's a masking device. You only notice the ugly dress. Or maybe the outfit is a success because, against a background of beautiful women in beautiful gowns, Lena Dunham managed to stand out,

For a bunch of professional actors, most seem remarkably plain looking.
Were TV actors better looking in the past ? It seems to me that was the case.

I know nothing about the show the actress stars in so I just see the dress. And it looks like a very interesting dress using Forties styles - like the veils women used wear over their faces, only very bright. It's more formal. It doesn't suggest horror at all or dark night of the soul - it suggests a new fashion victoriously shown off at a big party. Although I suppose some of the other fashion leaders are having a dark night of some kind.

She was about the best looking woman/dress there. What a horrorshow. All the designers were gay. Fotog was gay. The camera must have been gay.

This is Hollywood's best? Burn it!

Feh.

Happily Dunham was almost invisible. If she were to be burned alive it could only improve her looks.

It occurs to me that Dunham may have been told that the only way she'd get talked about would be to wear a hideous monstrosity of a dress. She won't be discussed because of her flawless beauty, or even because of her plain-ness or because of her show (that was so last year). Grasping at straws, she chose the hideous.

… blood snow falling on a dark night of the soul …

An arresting image. Perfectionist me wants to delete "of the soul." The abstraction hangs there on the end of the line like a leech. It's sucking all that fantastic blood out of the "dark night."

But "blood snow falling on a dark night " is great and perfect for the dress.

But this is a travesty atop a catastrophe sprinkled throughout the wreckage of a nightmare dreamed up by a colorblind psychopath.

An image too far, a line too cluttered. Perhaps:

… a travesty atop the wreckage of a nightmare dreamed up by a colorblind psychopath.

The bottom of that dress/skirt? was lost in the carpet. Just melded right in. Not that a defined contrast would have helped the dress, mind you.

The color scheme for Dunham's dress was ok, but the shape was all wrong. It would work if close-fitted above the waist. It could even be more poofy below the waist than it was, but tapering out from an empire waist is a disaster.

The other dress needed to have the mesh under control.

Dress designers do seem to hate women. Some no doubt have good reason to. Lena...well, I'd still rather NOT see her naked.
