30 years.

Yesterday was the last day of classes in what is my 30th academic year.

I mean, one might assume you were happy in this role and that longevity was the goal.

One might also wonder whether or not after a few years in the academic "saltmines" the idea of moving back to a more competitive (assuming that non-academic roles are more competitive based) corporate/litigation/etc role might have been viewed as perhaps "daunting" in some way.

Round numbers are interesting.

The end of every academic year brings you to 4 months without classes, so by fall everything always seems new again.

One mostly lives by the day and in the day.

I have always felt fortunate to have this job, and at this point I'm also fortunate to be free to retire.

Law professor is quite possibly THE best job... at least if you like reading and figuring out things that are not beautifully written and are not too afraid to talk about them.; ১/৫/১৪, ৩:১৯ PM
