A quick trip West on I-80?

The question is: did they veer left of I-76 towards Denver and the cannabis or stay straight, heading for Wyoming?

I see Andrew Sullivan!!!!

You don't do meatless Fridays our of solidarity? Wow! Extra penance for the spouse!

Deirdre Mundy કહ્યું...

Though, some would claim ANY meal eaten at McDs is penitential....

ngtrains કહ્યું...

I've been to Oglalla and that does not look like Oglalla

Hunter McDaniel કહ્યું...

Nice to have you with us in Boulder. Feel free to stick around.

Alex કહ્યું...

In the future you will need special approval from the Ministry of Health to eat at McDonald's.

Oso Negro કહ્યું...

Startling that the occupants of Meadehouse would eat lunch at McDonalds. Perhaps a false flag operation?

અજ્ઞાત કહ્યું...

If you're going to San Francisco, don't forget to wear patchouli oil in your hair.

Got stranded just east of Ogalalla a few years so. Lucky enough to get the second last hotel room in Julesburg,CO when the highways were shut down. Went to the store to get some food, several people inquired about out accommodations, offers us a crib, etc. one family took in another family who had a child with chicken pix, because the Armory temp shelter couldn't let them in. Wonderful people there.

Now, they've also got a very nice visitors' center.

Ann Althouse કહ્યું...

We just got off the interstate at Ogallala to gas up the car and we got lunch at McDonalds.

I'm sure many of you know more about Ogallala than I do, but I do know that I'm the one spelling it correctly.

Patrick કહ્યું...

Ha! I;d noticed that ngtrains spelled it wrong, and then I went and misspelled it too. In my defense, I was using my phone.

We've driven to CO that way probably about 10 or so times. I don't think we've ever stopped at Ogallala. Usually, it's North Platte, and now, we always stop at Julesburg.

I've been to Ogallala or however you spell it.

Fourth of July.

There is or was a wonderful wild west musical cabaret-type show there. The college-aged actresses loved on my then 12-year-old son, bringing him on stage. Embarrassed the heck of out him.

The Crystal Palace Revue of Ogallala, Nebraska.

Better than Broadway.

Well worth stopping for.

….. so, is it snowing' in Boulder tonight ?
…. we've been getting a skiff'r two every now & then here in COS. Mostly up on the Peak right now, though.
……… s'posed to be really nice tomorrow. Enjoy your time on the Front Range, folks.

Back in September, the creek outside your window was a raging river. If you have time, take a drive up LeftHand Canyon (recently re-opened) to get a sense of what the floods did.

If you get tired of the fancy food at the St. Julien, head three blocks east to get a Chicago hot dog and fries at Mustard's Last Stand.

"'I'm sure many of you know more about Ogallala than I do, but I do know that I'm the one spelling it correctly."

So Sioux them.

RecChief કહ્યું...

were you in Iowa at Sundown? looked like it

RecChief કહ્યું...

Patrick - I had to stay in Julesburg die to a blizzard once years ago as well. I don't think the town has changed much

Bruce Hayden કહ્યું...

Looks like a possibility of snow after about 11 in Boulder, and later than that out on the plains. My kid is in graduate school there, so try to keep up on the weather there. It snowed lightly 70 or so miles west in the mountains where I am this afternoon, but storm came over, was blizardy for an hour, with little accumulation, then sun came out.

It looks like a great white shark took a bite out of that sandwich.

Lyle કહ્યું...

I've driven through Ogallala before. I takes seemingly forever to get across or through Nebraska.

Kirk Parker કહ્યું...

So when are you going to drive all the way out to Puget Sound Country?

Unknown કહ્યું...

St Julien.

MathMom કહ્યું...

I takes seemingly forever to get across or through Nebraska.

Dude. Nebraska is a piece of cake. Try driving 880 miles of I-10 in Texas. Especially West Texas. My dad used to say, "The sun has riz and the sun has set, and we ain't out of Texas yet!"

SE Flores કહ્યું...

Did people in Ogallala mumble when speaking? They are less than ten miles from Lake McConaughey, you know.
The Filet-O-Fish Sandwich - another culinary innovation from Cincinnati.

St. Julien Hotel in Boulder. Nice.

"Temporary window" kinda sounds like it's made out of Saran Wrap or something.

That is a nauseating mound of processed tartar sauce on the FOF. Gross

Lyle કહ્યું...

Mathmom,

Funny you mention Texas. I live in Texas. And I lived in West Texas. So I know. I drove from New Mexico, down to Fort Stockton to Houston just a few months ago.

The landscape in Nebraska doesn't change is the problem I think. In Texas there is some variation. Only in western Nebraska, if you're traveling east/west do things start to change.

Texas is huge, I know. I've driven all over it. My high school district went from Lubbock to Amarillo. Games were like a two hours drive.
