This thing about "inequality" - general, not between the sexes - I am not sure how meaningful it is. There is/has been growing inequality between top and bottom incomes, but I think this has a lot to do with the fiscal policies pursued by the Obama administration itself. "Quantitative easing," or creating money and dumping it into the top of the stockmarket, in a stagnant economy must necessarily lead to that, I think.
How bad is it? Well, as long as the "very rich" keep churning it between themselves, probably not too much effect for us normal people. They can only eat so many steaks, and then they must invest the money somewhere, which is probably a good thing. Keeping the stockmarket up and interest rates low does cause the bondmarket to go down, which hurts many of us. Not to mention the drain on our bank accounts that do not make any interest. And "that which cannot go on forever, won't," so there eventually is going to have to be a correction, which could be a doozey if they stretch this out much longer.
I do think it wrong that so many executives take outrageous bonuses and going-away payouts, which I think is impoverishing their own companies that they undertook to serve, even if the overall effect is minimal when they just invest the loot elsewhere.
Plus a general bad "moral" atmosphere of "everyone for himself, and may the Devil take the hindmost."
But I think that at the present time "the very rich" are getting that way with monopoly money, that do not really have much to do with the rest of us. However, we may all have to suffer some more when the correction comes as it must.

Do you like your dogs all the way? By all the way I mean mustard, orions, chili, etc. and not one of those Chicago-style monstrosities. Sporting breeds all taste better with minimal condiments, IMHO.
Was that imac back in the corner bad? Is that why you gave it a "time-out"?
All iMacs are bad and should be relegated to the darkest corner of the unsold merchandise warehouse. With a lot of swoopy plastic style to wow the yokels, and a lot more instant obsolescence built in (not a bug, but a feature), the iMacs are the least ethical computers ever made in a factory.
OS X is a wonderful OS, always at least marginally better than Windows, and since Windows 8 decidedly better, but the iMac is the worst platform to run it on. Byte the bullet and buy the Mac Pro. The gods of IT will bless you.
I went to the ArtFest at Centennial Park in Fort Myers with a friend yesterday. We spent a couple of hours walking around and looking at all of the various displays and had lunch. As she put it, it was sensory overload, at least as far as the art went. There were all kinds of interesting (and expensive) pretty things. Some of it didn't appeal to me, but with that many types of art work, some things will be more to one's taste than others.
Several people brought their dogs. A couple of them were laying on the sidewalk looking all tuckered out, including a bulldog whose tongue lolled onto the sidewalk. As I pointed out to my friend, the problem with being a lazy bulldog is if your tongue lolls out onto a part of the sidewalk that isn't particularly tasty. As we got up from lunch at the communal tables, we saw an enormous female dog (Doberman, I think) and a little tiny male foo-foo dog coming up behind her. The male dog's owner picked him up with one hand. I chuckled and thought that the little dog would have needed a stepladder to make acquaintance with the female dog!
Other things I noted: Honeybees like frozen lemonade stands, for some reason. Some things probably are better as concepts than in practice, such as deep-fried artichokes. Art shows are definitely an interesting place for people watching. Purple hair still can't distract from a butt that's three feet across. There are an amazing number of different media that can be used to create art. Free trolleys arrive at about the same rate that you're paying for them (one came along that we rode in, but we walked all the way back to the car).

Toys are words if you establish they are.
If the dog appears by your side holding a toy, he thinks it's a toy that might interest you.
