This over credentialed incompetent idiot couldn't figure out how to afford birth control, so she's a perfect lib candidate. Apparently ,math is still hard. If elected her birth control should be guaranteed so as to prevent the further pollution of the gene pool by another lib nitwit.
- Doesn't live in the district - one year as a social justice lawyer, whatever that means - her new district will likely elect her by acclamation - they deserve each other
Fluke for President: 2024 (after Hill's two terms)
Wax an never had to do anything to win reelection- no ads, no signs, no events- because the district was so thoroughly his. But Fluke? I'm doubtful. There are a lot of successful, accomplished people in that district, and I don't see them getting excited about someone who has no experience and no connection to the area.
I think that the Waxman district has already been spoken for. That New Age goof who pals around with Oprah has already claimed dibs. I think her name is Williamson.
I give her props for being able to spin a condemnation into a career. So she knows how to game the system. But what kind of career is it if she becomes the system? How could she succeed?
That is so perfect. Fluke would be ideal for Waxman's seat. And without the mustache, it will tickles less when Hollywood money needs to be deep-throated.
As her resume demonstrates, she has no particular qualifications and will, therefore, make an excellent Democrat candidate for Congress - and maybe even President.
If this marginally qualified woman gets elected, I hope conservatives have enough awareness to note that their hero Rush Limbaugh elevated her from obscurity so he could get attention for his crude remarks. Thanks Rush! Any more progressive stars you want to create?
There are a number of state legislative politicians in that area who have been "termed out" by term limits on state legislative and local government seats. These people are well networked in the district so this will not be a weak field in terms of running campaigns. It will be a hard fought race among those who have been there, done that, so to speak.
Cliff, such displays of sexism isn't anything out of the ordinary here in the Althouse comment's sections. Every single blogost about gays, women and abortion bring out the true nature of the far right.
"Thanks Rush! Any more progressive stars you want to create?"
After Obama the trophy has been retired. Emil Jones retired it. The story is here.
Several months before Obama announced his U.S. Senate bid, Jones called his old friend Cliff Kelley, a former Chicago alderman who now hosts the city's most popular black call-in radio program.
I called Kelley last week and he recollected the private conversation as follows:
"He said, 'Cliff, I'm gonna make me a U.S. Senator.'"
"Oh, you are? Who might that be?"
"Barack Obama."
Jones appointed Obama sponsor of virtually every high-profile piece of legislation, angering many rank-and-file state legislators who had more seniority than Obama and had spent years championing the bills.
"I took all the beatings and insults and endured all the racist comments over the years from nasty Republican committee chairmen," State Senator Rickey Hendon, the original sponsor of landmark racial profiling and videotaped confession legislation yanked away by Jones and given to Obama, complained to me at the time. "Barack didn't have to endure any of it, yet, in the end, he got all the credit.
People here aren't dissing Fluke because of her gender, they're dissing her because of her advocating positions that they vehemently disagree with.
Proof is in two parts:
1. There is no universal disapproval of women here. Just look back over all the Condi-love, Margaret Thatcher-love, Janice Rogers Brown-love, and Mia Love-love expressed here and elsewhere.
2. There is no lack of disapproval of men here, either. Look at all the John Kerry-hate, John Edwards-hate, and to take a recent example Cass Sunstein-hate expressed in the same venues.
Therefore, the dividing line here is not gender but rather ideology.

One question: Will she get free birth control?
Will her campaign slogan be "Fluke That!"
They have a name for people who expect to be given money so they can more comfortably have sex.
So a nasty little woman will replace the nasty little man.
No. Real. World. Experience.
This over credentialed incompetent idiot couldn't figure out how to afford birth control, so she's a perfect lib candidate. Apparently ,math is still hard. If elected her birth control should be guaranteed so as to prevent the further pollution of the gene pool by another lib nitwit.
I saw that gleam in her eye back at the Sak N Save.
Against real liberal politicians her 15 minute rerun of fame won't stand a chance. Politics is a blood sport for people who have made it their career.
It sounds like a rubber match for those constituents.
Well, the dumb would represent the dumb. Fair enough. She fucks like a rabbit.

Fluke for President: 2024 (after Hill's two terms)
Inspired by Wendy Davis?
Her actual, legitimate qualifications for office are fully the equal of Hillary Clinton's when she won a Senate seat.

Nawh:
Hill had a couple of successful private sector careers under her belt, unlike Fluke the community activist.
Hill had been both a partner in a law firm and a successful futures trader :)

It means 'someone unable to provide value to society'. So politics is the natural career path.
I think that the Waxman district has already been spoken for. That New Age goof who pals around with Oprah has already claimed dibs. I think her name is Williamson.

I wonder who is setting her up for a big fall.
What qualification does she have other than a vagina?
I miss the days when candidates for major office were chosen by old guys in smoke-filled rooms.
Garbage out, garbage in.
Her name matches my opinion of her.
This is as hilarious as Pelosi on Jon Stewart's show.
I think this helps Marianne Williamson. As she notes lots more people will get in the race now - but she is ahead of them in preparation.
Fluke is a fluke.
Now we know why she moved to LA
Sisterhood of the Impoverished Condoms.
Aren't there enough whores in Congress already?

I heard her name on the news once! Where do I go to give her political power?
Yes, famous people must always be encouraged to run for office.
For the Republic!
If this marginally qualified woman gets elected, I hope conservatives have enough awareness to note that their hero Rush Limbaugh elevated her from obscurity so he could get attention for his crude remarks. Thanks Rush! Any more progressive stars you want to create?
She is probably unqualified and I prefer my candidates to have more business or legal experience but wow. Such rampant sexism. Disgusting.
There are a number of state legislative politicians in that area who have been "termed out" by term limits on state legislative and local government seats. QED.
The next Nancy Pelosi
