The problem with constantly pushing the limits is that, sooner or later, you will go beyond the limits. How different is Madonna's behavior from that of Michael Jackson on the hotel balcony as he dangled his child over the void?
I personally find "negro" a much more interesting word to deploy than "nigger" or its popular variants "nigga" or "niggaz". Negro is a rich, evocative word and harks to an era when black people were working for equality under the law. Fortunately for the term, it fell into disuse as the African identity movement emerged and replaced it with "Afro-American". If you say "nigger" in a conversation it is simply a familiar if you are black, or a freak-out switch if you are white. If you say "negro", people don't know quite what to make of you if you are white, and feel all jolly if you are black.

It seems like the rogue sentiment positive use of nigger to me.
Gets along on his own wits, outsmarts the man.
One of the great things about being retired is that I no longer have any reason to kiss the ass of the sanctified victims.
I don't owe blacks jack shit. I won't kiss their asses.
It's time for the ass kissing of blacks to end.
I'm gonna say whatever I want to say.
Yet another example of Madonna trying to stay "hip" and "relevant" past her hipster lifestyle shelf-life.
If Madonna actually was hip and relevant, she would have told those people badgering her to take a hike.
Since when has hip and relevant meant "cowardly conformist?"
Would be more surprised if she knew the meaning of the C-word.
Circumspect.

Wait!! I thought Rachel Genteel settled this issue.

I vote for the latter.
Madonna wants you should care. I don't. Care, not care, whatever.
