"I think this is the first time I ever held a dog on my lap."

I said last Tuesday, posting pictures of me with Mr. Pepper, the Yorkie, here. Irene wrote to remind me that I had in fact held her cute poodle Poppy on my lap, and then I went back over to Irene's to hold Poppy on my lap again and get good photographic proof. Here:

Looks like you have lost weight looking at these recent pictures. At the doctors last week, the nurse made a typo and wrote my weight as 173 and for a second I believed it -- silly but that is the extent of my worry about not exercising and getting chunky.

In other news, a car in front of me sported a sticker that said "Obamacare you were lied to".

Big standard sized poodles are awesome water dogs. They do love to hunt. I like a poodle with a "field cut" (crew cut) instead of the foo-foo curls and tail. Handsome animals and smart too. Within in just one breed you can have a Perfesser lap dog and Meade can have a studly water dog albeit on a much grander scale.

Sit on the floor with your legs crossed pow-wow style and Zeus will make himself at home in your lap, most likely.

Two of the three dogs in our house are getting old. Too big for the lap, but great to hug, and I have been hugging the third dog, the 80-lb youngster, to set her high on the same pedestal.

Did you NOT take your camera to Austin? I've been here 4 years, maybe you know about the 24 foot spider (other end of the greenspace from the 10 foot pollen statue), Mt Bonnel, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Zilker Park botanical garden (granted the last two are probably not so memorable at the moment). Also worth noting, if you have the chance the Republic Of Texas motorcycle rallye & the Pecan Street Festival (actually 2 per year) are also worth visiting.

We have an oil painting of our two Bostons in the dinning room. It's a good painting but it makes me sad every time I see it, because they are both gone. Franklin wandered off under the influence of phenobarbital. Abbie died in her sleep a few months later—maybe from heartbreak. The last day of her life she took a nap in my lap. I miss them both very much.

The new hair-doo looks great. I second the weight-loss compliments.

Is that a Bikini Bridge in your future?

Big bassett hounds are not lap dogs but can be lovable.

Ha. I knew that you, Ann, a law professor, had had a puppy on your lap before.

Happy Birthday, Ann.

I hope you have a lap-dog kind of day.

(Hum, I'm not sure that conveys what I was intending.)

Ooh! I love the haircut! Now I am inspired. My hair is similar to yours in style and color, so I could take this iPad to the salon and show Missy, yes, Missy, how good you look.

@JoyD Thanks. Here are the pictures I showed my stylist.
