15 hospitalizations for flu in Wisconsin so far.

Very early in the flu season.

Take cover. Or get vaccinated. And wash your hands, sneeze into your upper arm, don't share drinking cups, and stop using your bare hand to turn doorknobs in public places.

Don't use a shopping cart, bag your groceries in disposable plastic or paper, and don't put your dirty purse on my kitchen countertop.

I so rarely get the flu...can't remember the last time I did. My theory is I grew up in a big place (Chicago suburb) and moved to a smaller place (Milwaukee). So my immune system has "been there, done that".

The opposite is true of Confederate soldiers during the Civil War...more died of disease than mini-ball. They were mostly country boys that were put among thousands for the first time.

The first year that I was out of the Air Force, 94, I didn't get a flu shot, because I didn't have to anymore. I got the flu and was sick as a dog for about a month. Now I get a flu shot every year. I have not had the flu since.

It's a foregone conclusion that you must forgo shopping carts, shaking hands, hugging grandchildren and touching the keys of any keyboard someone else has used.
