The Democrats have a plan. It's based on a coherent ideology. Get used to it!!!

They're Cruzifying the Republicans...

Levi Starks said...

For some reason it strikes me that it would be a more effective pro-Cruz ad.

Democrats always tell you who they fear by their campaigns of lies.

There's no reason given to vote FOR a Democrat.

Just a crazy scary man, I guess. Hide your wife. Hide your daughter.

Freeman Hunt said...

Shouldn't they have picked a picture where he looks scary instead of affable?

They were able to convince people to vote for Obama - there are plenty of people stupid enough to fall for this, too.

The terrified shrieks of the left are music to my ears. Cruz is absolutely their worse nightmare.

Lately, I have noticed that many attacks by the left come across more like compliments to regular people. As Levi Starks noted above. That Cass Sunstein article from the other day struck me that way. Unintended compliments.

In fact he looks very good behind that desk. Imagine a president not afraid to speak the truth, who spends more time actually looking at how his policies are affecting the nation, and less time staring at his own magnificent image in the mirror.

Exactly. "Hey he looks pretty good there. And he wouldn't be afraid to FIRE incompetent boobs like Sebelius, Napolitano, Holder, Biden, Clinton, Rice, Carney, Obama...

Hell, we should just clean house!

Anonymous said...

he looks relaxed.

at least he doesn't have his feet on the desk.

This is really weak. They could save $9 by firing the marketing group, and $9 trillion by firing Obama. The DNC lacks business acumen. I guess it's easier to pinch a penny than to save a penny.

damikesc said...

Say, did Cruz lie, repeatedly, about people not losing their insurance coverage if they like it?

Did he outsource the development of a website to a Canadian firm with a history of running through cost projections horrendously and producing poor products in return?

Did he sit back and allow ambassadors and agents to die overseas and not do shit about it?

Did he spy on millions of Americans for no reason while publicly opposing it?

Has he simply ignored swaths of federal law he opposed personally?

No?

I can see why his election would be a nightmare for the Dems...

Chris Matthew's show is All Ted Cruz, All The Time. It's bizarre.

Isn't there a Koch brother lurking somewhere behind the curtain in that picture?

They are doing a better job of promoting Cruz for President than anything the Republican's have done so far.

Just wait till e-mail from John McCain about Cruz.

It will scare your socks off.

Chef Mojo said...

Cruz looks a helluva lot more dignified behind that desk than the current occupant.

Wince said...

Clearly, not only do I think Ted Cruz could be the next president, the Democrats do too.

Sorun said...

He's so scary that even men are frightened about getting back-alley abortions.

bleh said...

The inordinate attention paid by the Democrats to Cruz, a freshman senator, is bizarre and, in my short life, unprecedented. Yes, he's smart, Hispanic and strident in his views.

The Democrats feel the need to recast him as an extremist lunatic, and then make him the face and voice of the GOP. I don't know if this is because (1) they fear him and his potential, and thus want to destroy him at the outset, or (2) if they see him as a convenient and effective bogeyman because they think he's unpopular and makes Republicans look bad.

augustus said...

Racists.

augustus said...

Te Cruz has never lied to me... that means that he is already ahead of every elected and appointed Democrat.

Michael said...

Stupid ad. They forgot to have him put his cowboy boots on the desk.

YoungHegelian said...

It's just gonna be hard for the Democrats to work around the fact that Cruz was the very public face of the government shutdown over ObamaCare, especially since it turned out that --- oooooooops! ---- Obamacare has turned out to be a massive clusterfuck.

On the pre-rollout assumption that "all system were go" for ObamaCare, Cruz looked like the maniac thwarting the Will of the People. But now that it's clear what a train wreck we're looking at, the Democrats look like the morons who should have offered the delay in implementation to the Repubs as a peace offering, and then thanked their lucky stars that they were able to hide such a screw-up from public view.

Hey look! Ted Cruz has enough class NOT to put his feet on the Presidential desk.

We can't have a President with class! So give money to the Democrats, now!

Michael K said...

When you are taking flak, you know you are over the target.

They were able to demonize Sarah Palin but he is better educated and the times are different. Everybody knows Obama is lying, even his supporters. Like Clarence Page.

I like Cruz a lot. I think he would make a terrific president for a lot of reasons.

The one thing I can't get over is that he is a statutory citizen, not a constitutional one.

That is, he gets his citizenship by law rather than by being born in the US and thus getting it by the Constitution. I had the same problem with McCain. (As well as many other problems with McCain)

I know that Ann and a lot of other smart people think that anyone who is a citizen at birth, as Cruz and McCain are, is "Natural born" and qualified to be president.

Maybe so, maybe not.

I do know that we have never had a president up to now who was not born in the US. (Perhaps Arthur but that is not clear and he claimed to be born in the US)

I worry that a president born outside of the US would raise all sorts of opportunities for mischief. Lawsuits over whether he is legally prez and whether laws he passes are legal.

Ann, as a constitutional law professor, is there any mechanism whereby this question of eligibility can be answered by the Supreme Court in advance?

I know that Congress passed a resolution (law?) saying that McCain was "Natural Born" but it seems to me that the Constitution must still be supreme.

Much as I like Cruz, I would have trouble supporting him for this reason. And this is the only reason I would have trouble supporting him.

Maybe his father, who said Obama should go back to Kenya with the terrorists, can be his spokesperson.

Totally going to be next president.

Yeah, what's to fear? A freshnman Senator, member of a minority, with a non-American father, and loved by his party base. There's no way someone like that could get elected . . .

Anonymous said...

Even though Obama has put me off minority politicians-they can't be criticized you know, it's racist- I'd take a chance on Cruz. He looks even whiter than your average white Hispanic.

Cruz may be too radical in 2016 if things go the way they should in 2014. A Republican majority in the House and Senate may only require a caretaker executive to sign Bills and appoint judges.

Titus,

I would be more than happy to compare fathers. Do a little research into Obama's dad and get back to me.

Maybe his father, who said Obama should go back to Kenya with the terrorists, can be his spokesperson.

Here's where we can see what Cruz is made of. If I were Cruz …

Talking head: Senator Cruz, many are wondering what to make of your father's remarks.

Cruz: What do you want to make of my father's remarks?

TH: Isn't that up to you?

Cruz: No, it isn't.

TH: Are you agreeing with your father's statements?

Cruz: Which statements are you referring to?

TH: Well, the ones about Kenya and Obama being a socialist.

Cruz: No.

TH: What do you mean, "no?"

Cruz: I mean I'm not agreeing with the statements you mentioned.

TH: But how would you characterize your father's statements – how would you describe them. Are they moderate? Are they fringe?

Cruz: I would describe them as … his own. You seem to be wanting me to throw my father under the bus. I would never do that. I have nothing but love for my parents. They bought me into the world and deserve my respect.

Given a choice between President Ted Cruz and President Barack Obama, I'd take Cruz in a heartbeat. For that matter, I'd take President Any-Of-The-First-Thousand-People-In-The-Phone-Book over President Barack Obama. We couldn't do any worse and we might do better!

Titus said...

I never said Obama's father was a "winner". In fact, he was a huge loser...so there!

tits.

Titus said...

And Sebillius should be fired and the entire Obamacare shit is a complete and utter disaster.

You see, just because I say something about one side, doesn't mean I think the other side is swell.

Unlike many who are just boring and support their side no matter what.

Personally, I think they both pretty much suck.

They know how they get elected. Any Hispanic, any African American and any woman who rises much above dog catcher as a Republican is to be destroyed. Be subtle (rarely), be vicious, be brutal but be effective. Republicans can not be permitted to elevate women or minorities. Women and minorities should realize that they will be targets for utter destruction if they attempt to become powerful and effective Republican leaders.

It's called shaming and intimidation, and it has been very successful. The Clarence Thomas smear was about a lot more than the Supreme Court.

It's neuro marketing, and it has worked magnificently for them. Look at how everyone perceives Sarah Palin, who is actually a very impressive, independent-thinking, highly-motivated American woman who at the least deserves to "coexist" with the rest of the human race -- but I'll bet few of us aren't scarred with the imprint the Democrat Fascists have seared onto our amydulas when this name enters our wiring.

Interesting times.

Vaya con Dios, Señor Cruz, whatever path you choose to follow.

10/31/13, 6:32 PM"

Yeah, because the congressional GOP has such a stellar record of implementing small government principles and adhering to constitutional limits over the past ten years. A Republican majority does not need a caretaker, it needs hospice care...or a babysitter. Time for a clean sweep by those who believe that government is the problem.

Democrats have nothing but constituencies. (Not that that's nothing.) Cracks in constituency loyalty must be remediated by any means necessary.

Screw the southern border, Democrats are all about keeping the reservations secure.

It's racism on the part of the Democrats. No, I'm not kidding.

Yeah, Ted Cruz is that crazy guy who said that Obamacare was going to make people loose their insurance or pay a lot more for policies that have less of what they want and more of what they don't want. Really scary.

Of course, this isn't intended to win any votes. It's a look at what Democrat fundraisers think are the fears and prejudices of the Democrat donor class. Revealing.

Exactly. Notice that obscure former representative Todd Akin gets a mention. This appeal goes to the activist saps, the running dogs who know that when someone rings the bell of Todd Akin, they're supposed to drool.

These bright young dullards have trained themselves to be smart enough to sucker. The party knows they know the punchlines and the saps prove them right by happily smirking at all the same jokes.
