Why did the sandhill crane cross the street?

He forgot where he'd parked his car.

You have a nice sense of whimsy, Madame.

And kudos to Meade, some would not have been so tolerant.

Dammit, don't you hate it when you're trying to make a left turn and some pedestrian is just lollygagging their way through the crosswalk? ;)

to get his picture taken?

"And kudos to Meade, some would not have been so tolerant."

It was a left turn. Pedestrians have the right of way.

We have a bunch of these here in Brandon, Florida. They hang out in the grassy fields near the mall. They are without fear, and mosey across busy streets just like the video. We're used to it, and traffic stops to let them cross. I'm surprised that they are still alive.

There are those who think the hood ornament doubles as a sight.

I see through your devious lawyerly ways. Spy a jaywalking crane and it's "Floor it, Meade, we've got the right of way". Then you chalk up another driving ace point, complete with a sandhill crane silhouette stencilled on the door next to the ball chasing tot and the walker grannie.

Worldwide the Sandhills tend to be highly migratory. In Asia they winter in India and nest in Siberia in the summer. In North America they winter along the Tex/Mex border and spend their summers deep into Canada as far north as the Acrtic shores. Wisconsin is the southern edge of their summer range.

But for some reason several large Sandhill colonies have forsworn migration and have adopted central Florida as a permanent home.

"Why did the sandhill crane cross the street?"

Easy...

The sand at the other side of the street looked sandier and hillier.

Big Mike કહ્યું...

Sandhill Crane: Ha! I'm an endangered species. You can't touch me!

motorist: You're not listed as endangered in Wisconsin, but if you keep crossing the street, you surely will be personally endangered.

Sandhill Crane: Hey, Dude! I was in the crosswalk.

Like in the old joke:Why did the sandhill crane cross the Moebius Strip? To stay on the same side!

Recently, I stopped for a turkey hen as she and her poults crossed the road. I didn't ask why.
