What's especially interesting is how Greinke does not want to come clean about what he said to antagonize Carlos Quentin immediately after the beaning.

Amazingly, Zack Greinke came to Nyjer Morgan's defense in this case.
"I don't know," Greinke said. "They think [Chris Carpenter's] presence, his attitude out there sometimes is like a phony attitude. But ... and then he yells at people. He just stares people down and stuff. And most pitchers just don't do that.

Gee, bummer that Nyje has washed out of the bigs and has been relegated to playing for the Yokohama Godzillas. Or whatever. His mouth, alternate persona and on-field antics are really missed over here. Not.
And when Morgan and Greinke have the rings and record that Chris Carpenter does, maybe then they can bitch about how he goes about his job on the mound.
Morgan is a thug, too old, too expensive and too much of a jerk to work in MLB. Good riddance to bad rubbish. I doubt he'll both maintain his attitude and succeed in Japan.

Smart pitchers always protect their pitching arm. What impressed me was how Greinke made sure he took Quentin's bull rush w/ his LEFT shoulder. The great Tom Seaver would not use his right arm even to shake hands when he was a pitcher, he used his left. Quentin and Greinke have bad blood going back to their days w/ the White Sox and Royals respectively. Nobody holds grudges more than baseball players, except maybe Italians. Now, Italian baseball players..Faggetaboutit.
