His conflict of interest warranted recusal.

Butt dialing causes fine!

It would've been a better story if the defense counsel had called the judge during the closing of the prosecutor just to distract.

Tibore म्हणाले...

Would've been funnier if he had argued with himself, then ordered the bailiff to escort him from the courtroom for disrupting proceedings. :D

Well that's refreshing.

We are all astonishment after any little display of integrity by the ruling class.

I wonder if he golfs.

अनामित म्हणाले...

Golf is a noun, not a verb.

You don't go tennis-ing, do you? You play tennis.

I work in a business that is extremely safety sensitive. And it's not abnormal for our us to use progressive discipline with employees who are not following safety requirements or exercising sound judgement. Sometimes that formal accountability includes suspensions for very serious violations that could have lead to a death or serious injury. At the same time, we also believe that the a critical component to safety performance is a fair, open, and honest climate, especially in terms of safety accountability. Over my 7 years in this company, I've seen numerous manager and VPs issue themselves written consultations and even suspensions for safety violations. In fact, most managers are much harder on themselves than they are on their team members. It goes a long way when an organization (or society) is flat in terms of accountability. So good for this judge.

I wonder if he plays a game in which clubs are used to hit a small ball into a series of holes, usually 9 or 18, situated at various distances over a golf course, the object being to get the ball into each hole in as few strokes as possible?

More better.

What caplight and Sarge said.

Too damn many people in authority think they have a special set of rules - or no rules at all.

Sounds like a good man.

@bpm4532

You remind me of a good friend who used to say the same thing. He also told me back then that my putting wasn't as good as I thought it was. Man, he was brutally honest.

I putt a lot better now. I think. I should ask him again.

Live by rules? Why that's a new concept.

Tell that to Tiger Woods and Obama. Bet that would puzzle them.

And yes I do respect the Judge for doing that. Sounds like a good man who does a good job.

Encouraged that he did it, but sad that it is news.

He should have confiscated the phone.
