Yeah, neither do I. The Giants radio team interviewed Bochy when they opened up their homestand; basically, his answers were: 1) it happens, and 2) Miller Field is a hitters park. Giants' staff is generally built for a pitchers park, i.e., pitch to contact or pitch for fly-balls, either of which give the Giants in the field an advantage at home.
The other part, of course, is give the Brewers some credit. They're solid, and contended until the end last year. It's not like they're the Marlins or Astros.
Finally, I think the Giants are a bit gassed. They started off so-so in '11, after the '10 World Series run. But they're solid, so they'll be in the mix to the end.
That is very sad. They said he was suffering from depression and may have been suicidal. I would like to think he died before his name was falsely bandied around this past week. That was enough to make a sane person mad.
Did all those flowers come from seed Meade strewed on the ground last month? There's photo of him holding what could a sack of seeds with a bunch of white stuff here.
Yeah, the Brewers are usually somewhere near "in it" at the end of the seAson. I never sense that they can make that step to being a serious post season threat. Lots of baseball to play, though.
Giants came from behind to win the West in '10; came from a 0-2 deficit against the Reds in the NLDS to advance; came from a 1-3 deficit to against the Cards in the NLCS to advance to the WS.
Professor, why does a Goth Ann Althouse photo, with black hair and dark eye makeup, pop up when I search "Althouse" on Bing? I didn't notice it on Google. It's one of your other photos--the 3/4 look. It's been there a couple of weeks, at least, although it went back to normal briefly last week.
This reminds me of Rousseau's "Reveries of a solitary walker."
Yes, the dog is there, the activity is there, and even someone took a picture. But the sense of observing the natural human world, after a long life of hard intellectual thought, is there in this photo. At least for me.
Anyway, I read that book 27 years ago, so I'm probably full of BS.
It's wonderful to see the calming influence that marriage has had on Titus. All the people that said that allowing gays to marry would help move them to the mainstream were absolutely right. No more irresponsible behavior.

Obama is the Charybdis.
FWIW, Joker and Tamer weren't going to Gotham to party.
They were going to blow up Times Square.
And, if you were wondering, that body they found was the guy originally thought to be one of the Boston Bombing Boneheads.
Some people might say, "Hmmm...".
NFL Draft in less than 3 hours...
Tim,
Maybe you can explain to me how my hapless Brewers kicked off their winning streak by sweeping the World Champ Giants.
I don't get it.
If that dog sees a rabbit you're toast.

in a non-corrupt country he wouldn't be eligible. a non-corrupt Senator wouldn't allow it either.

What is that, a 25 meter long leash?

Worse still, voters will not care, because the media will not care.
Hey, Althouse, did you see this? Talk about making the most of an opportunity (plus a Delaware connection).
... hope you're still here.
For where two or three gather... there is Harry Reid ready to wet his beak with them.
I'd imagine Aaron Swartz would have been against the current proposals to tax internet sales?

So then a liberal-state is forcing middle school students to play act as homosexuals:

Parents were not notified, no chance given to "opt out", and the school administrators say there will be more.
Care to blog about this in relation to SSM?
That which is not forbidden, is mandatory...

Been here in Madison five days and I can safely say
your weather SUCKS.
Consider adding sunshine and warmth.
PS Professor, have you ever considered posting on
Epic.
So many possibilities:
-Silicon Pasture
- liberal CEO's
- Electronic Health Records: your tax dollars at work
Just a thought.
Doesn't that dog belong with your winter wardrobe?
Can you wear a St. Bernard after Easter? Isn't that like white pants after Labor Day??
"Lots of baseball to play, though."
You never know.

That's six elimination games they won.
Baseball is wonderful.
I think Joe Namath is drunk in public again.
Sad.
And the Kansas City Chiefs are on the clock.
They'll take an offensive tackle.
Duh...
She'll be bigger than you. Soon.
She already is.

And not just for calling each other and friends but for detonating the bombs.
Ouch. But the whole program was started by Bush.
Meanwhile, I do enjoy the reference to scilla: getting a kick out of that.

Phil, the next couple days will be better. But yes, this has been a lousy April.
The photo has "siouxsielaw.com" under it. But it is your original that has been altered.

Not really. It's been around since the 80's. It was expanded to cell phones in 05--but has to massive size under barry.
