It's snowing like a bitch here. OK I'll stop whining only because we need the moisture and most of our state is behind. Still, some rain would be nice. Global warming flakes in April... ugh.
By happy coincidence a set of pale orange tulips I'd never laid eyes on (smothered for years by liriope I'm slowly getting rid of) are blooming next to the Orange and purple pansies. Alas, climate change may keep those pansies blooming right through the stargazers I planted them over.
Just received an email from Polk County to say that my tree order will be here Friday, the 26th. The ground where I need to plant the trees is frozen solid. No sense in even looking for mammoth tusks.
What if you were a school administrator in Nazi Germany; and what if a teacher at your school gave an assignment to students asking them to write essays in opposition to the way the government was treating Jews -- would you discipline the teacher just because of the politically incorrect subject matter of the assignment?
. . . Because that type of thing couldn't happen in the US in 2013.

I have decided to be a bit more anonymous and not use my real first name which I have been using for the year or so I've been commenting here. So I picked the first random Homer Simpson quote that bubbled to the top of my brain of the hundreds I keep in there.

Congratulations on the sprouts. Spring!
Nice pic.
And "new light" thrown on Jennifer Cheatham, by today's Wisconsin State Journal's Opinion page.
But alas, in focusing on the achievement gap, she becomes just the latest in a long line of progressive Academic Alchemists.
In her future is the same success alchemists everywhere have. And for the same reason.
Such a waste of attention and effort.
Happiness is a bulb planted long ago peeping up.

Chip Ahoy... I thought I saw a mole under there!
I think the climate change gods are reading this post and mocking me. It's now snowing like crazy bitch. Total white-out.
I surrender.

Son had first echocardiogram in a series today, and everything looked normal. Hooray! Thank you, those who were praying for him.
Normal is good, Freeman.

To buzzing delight.
Looks like Meade (and we're about to start our planting) is hard at work.
Hooray is always good, Freeman.
Also: on Gosnell, Choom votes present.
Not, however, his attitude when he began having aspirations.

You can call me Pants for short.
Pants, I bet you've been here much longer than a year. And good thing!
