The picture of a single team alone on the rugged trail is awe inspiring.

And Abby looks up at her Aunt Ann and thinks, "How would you like to be hitched to a sled with a half dozen other naked women in that kind of snow and cold and forced to run night and day?".

The second commenter on AllenS's link is correct, God's dog is the wolf. And the wolf came to man, to be a dog...here is a Wolf/GSD hybrid named Shadow who lived 12 years as and raised two boys from infancy. I rescued "Shadow" many years ago, in northern Michigan,...and he was the dog God intended and never anything less. He lived his life with good friends who needed him...but I still miss him, too.

To the Comanches, God's dog was the horse.

Love the look on the face of the puppy in your picture, Airdog. That puppy seems well aware that Shadow is God's dog.

God has made a lot of things. Stuff like dogs, beer...

A caveat regarding wolf hybrids in general. "Shadow" was a rare hybrid that had more of the dog confidence than the wolf suspicion. He was one of a kind.

I do not recommend anyone intentionally breed hybrids, or buy them, because in essence it is a step backwards.

If you just must, however, ... import ... Hybridization has been carefully done in old Czechoslovakia and produced the Sarloos Wolf Hound and the Czech Wolf Dog ... just be sure you really do know what you are doing...not for amateurs.

I gathered up some pictures of dogs that I've owned, and will post them at a later date.

Kid with buzz cut: "Thanks, but the bodyguard position is filled."
Puppy (thinking): "Is this posture submissive enough? How about this one? How about if I get UNDER the carpet and THEN lower my head?"
Excellent photo.

At least now he can get rid of the damned dogs and dog sled and travel around in a bit of comfort.
