Over at the WaPo slideshow of Golden Globes fashions, one commenter seems a tad breast-o-phobic.
But I'd just like to say that this approach to clothing breasts — inflicted on Jessica Chastain, chastising Chastain — is one of the worst fashion screw-ups I've ever seen. Why didn't anyone see the optical illusion and stop her from leaving the house in that thing?

There's probably no one in her life who will tell her the truth about how she looks. It's why every woman needs a brother.
Chastain's dress is a good argument for going topless. Looking like an old lady is dangerous in the age of death panels.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. and Breasts are usually what is being being eyed. I blame God.

It is also by definition a circus. And you see the clowns out there.
To be noticed the female clowns have to show more and more. Hence the boobs.

Good looking actresses should learn that it is more important to wear something that makes themselves look good rather than just wearing something that looks good.
That is a very ugly dress. Looks like a big towel draping round her neck. Shows a sliver of deflated boobs. What the hell was wrong with her? Didn't she have mirror?
When I saw that photo of Jessica Chastain, I turned my phone upside down and giggled it a bit. Well, that was a waste of time.

I'm almost never put off by breasts.
I saw the Joan Rivers show today, and for the 'fashole' award, two of her regular panel chose Halle Berry and one chose Lucy Liu. Joan overruled all three and went with Chastain.
Katharine McPhee's dress (#34) did her no favors, either, but it's not as bad as Chastain's.
Jessica Chastain's dress looked great in HD as she gave her bouncy acceptance speech. Still photography just doesn't do it justice.
I thought the same thing when I saw her dress, why didn't someone say something and stop her? But maybe she was making a fashion statement about what large breasts do look like later in life. Her breasts are actually fairly small, so could this have been her way of making people look at her breasts, which ordinarily they tend to overlook? If so, she has quite a sense of humor and a lot of nerve.
