If you've seen "Lost in Tranlsation" (a fantastic flick, I must say), you'll probably know the third "star" of the movie is none other than Japan itself, in all its inscrutable weirdness. Japan is invariably portrayed as a kind of mildly threatening pastiche of Western pop-culture detritus, somehow regurgitated from some giant sumo media mixmaster to yield a garish, ridiculous, oddly addictive, and thoroughly foreign post-modern hellscape.
I'd feel less culture shock in Japan than in a Sharia land. The Japanese seem to have all kinds of weird perversions, but there's something to be said for weird, perverted sex. It certainly adds another dimension to subway travel....There's less to be feared in sexual expressoin than in sexual repression. The concept of throwing acid in a young girl's face is evil beyond anything in Kraft-Ebbing.
"Journalist" interviews another journalist ("unnamed veteran writer" reporting on pink film trade which is full of "whimsical male fantasies about train molestation of women) who has hearsay reports of actual women placing ads for train molestation and concludes that "these gals appear to be the real thing."
Hearsay reports from non-credible fanboy journalist confirming fan boy fantasies taken as true.
Conclusion: Japanese investigative journalism not so unlike US investigative journalism.
Above skepticism noted: Still, it is more interesting to imagine that there are actually attractive and lonely Japanese women who just want to reminded of what it is like feel desireable.

Could just as well be a craigslist's "casual encounters" ad.
Fun reading.
I'd bet 75% of the ads are scams. A good way to get set up for a mugging.
"Lip my stockings?"

Sounds like a letter to Penthouse.
Perfumed blokes on the Ginza line
I'm skeptical too but, you know... Japan.
I wonder how Chick-fil-A's ads play in Japan.

Another reason to oppose high speed rail - what's the hurry?

But what about all those thousands of poor people that have to commute from Bakersfield to Merced? Huh?
What about the children?
WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA????
I tried to watch Lost In Translation. Gave up about an hour in.
Is it Nature, Nurture or Geisha Coffee? The Nippon women are being nipped on in crowds.
I'm pretty sure the women who want to be groped are not the ones anyone would actually want to grope.
Don't try this at home--meaning the USA.

Ah... trains in Tokyo. Give me the Yamanote line over the Ginza, any day!
