I suppose alcohol, tobacco or prescription drugs of various sorts would have been acceptable.
@phx, well, yes, of course, but it's only a matter of time before the statists fix that too.
Maybe having a child should require a license. Yeah. That's the ticket. We need more regulation. The little people need what I like to call "help."
I assume New Zealand permits abortion? Because based on what I understand about pot-smokers I think they'd rather abort than give up weed.
People seem to like statism up until the relentless kudzu of rules ensnares them.
But by then it's too late. Now they own you. You're a slave to the state, allowed to exist only by their benevolence, your rights doled out piece by piece, and withdrawn by whim or pique.
I hope she enjoys her slavery to NZ, and that they are kind masters.
I feel like this would have a calming effect on the baby, but possibly in the same way having a baby stare at blank white walls all day would.
That baby needs to put down the milk pipe and get haircut and a job.

in Colonial days, mothers gave their babies a little brandy - laced with opium when they wouldn't pipe down.

@Pogo. NZ is far more free than America. I can call by PM a series of obscene perjoratives, in public or on a blog, and no one cares. You get scored on inventiveness.
In the US of A you get arrested.
And Marihuana is illegal here. There are no laws for medical pot.
