"What If I Told You..."

(Link.)

I love when phrases get ripped out of context and take on a life of their own. I still laugh at "hot water to dehydrated babies."

And, by the way, if you don't want your words ripped out of their context, use these...

Hmmm ... 'round things in a box' - what COULD this mean ...

JZ म्हणाले...

Hmmm...Name this context: "Light fuse. Retire quickly."

Automatic_Wing म्हणाले...

Oh, paper assholes, do people still use those things?

It's funny, but not to those who really really want to be offended.

Smilin' Jack म्हणाले...

If Mitt wants binders full of women he should check out my basement.

bgates म्हणाले...

Two seconds starting here.

Guaranteed "How Obama Lost Me" material.

C R Krieger म्हणाले...

I am just confused.  When doing a proposal (to answer an RFP) you may well have binders full of people, all looking for work.  On the other hand, my Democratic Party leaning Brother, Lance, seems to get it, whatever it is. He sent me this link.  It is Amazon, so Ann, the Blogger Amazon, should be happy.

It's offensive because you're reducing people to a commodity. I don't believe Romney would say, "binders full of black people." But of course the objection to this is the objection to affirmative action itself. Romney is being accused of being sexist because of an affirmative action policy which is, by its very nature, sexist.

If you don't want to be judged on your lady parts, you have to stop asking for affirmative action.

those paper reinforces have a different name in the USAF. When fixing a 1500 page technical order said name comes out quite offen. many times bracketed by expletives.

and that lolmorphious is awesome!

अनामित म्हणाले...

whoops-maguro has it covered!

Mr. D म्हणाले...

People who are unhinged aren't especially fond of binders.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

Mayne he should've said a rolodex or roster full of to get his point across.

Either way, funny.

Smilin' Jack म्हणाले...

So Mitt has binders full of women. What did you expect from a guy who straps his dog to his car?

Dust Bunny Queen म्हणाले...

Really BIG binders and really big (and painful) three hole punches to get them to stay in the binder.

"It's offensive because you're reducing people to a commodity."
- Saint Croix

Its offensive because you're desperate for something to be offended by, and snark about.

This one seems like it amuses people beyond the sisterhood of perpetual outrage, but it just comes off as kind of pathetic and desperate for something to snark on to me.

Two of those gummed reinforcements on your glans and you're on your way to a proper trouser snake.

अनामित म्हणाले...

I am finding the binder meme quite hilarious. It does not repel me from Romney in any way, but I have had a few snorts and giggles out of some of the memes making their rounds out there.

Larry J म्हणाले...

When you have no record you can run on and when you're unwilling or unable to discuss your agenda for the next four years, you'll try anything to deflect attention to your opponent.

What are Obama's plans for the next four years? Does anyone know, including Obama?

edutcher म्हणाले...

Lots of guys have binders full of women.

Most with notations like, "Easy", "Two shots", etc.

Romneys phrase about getting women from Bind Her's did not get past the Progressive Dem's delusional commenters. They immediately knew what he meant by it.

wyo sis म्हणाले...

We knew when we got a religious, monogamous, father, grandfather, moral businessman with no skeletons in his closet for a candidate we were going to run into some strange negative campaign issues, but the binder trope is a surprise.

It does point out the complete nothingness of the Obama campaign very well though.
Even more than the give up pizza and wedding presents for Obama they had going in the summer.

"Gummed Reinforcements"?

Oh, so now we're back on the subject of the Obama administration in Benghazi?

अनामित म्हणाले...

Nothing wrong with old school - I still use binders (not full of women though) AND reinforcements for torn pages. Rolodexes are very handy for the non-cell crowd but finding a holster is hell.

Lem Vibe Bandit म्हणाले...

Where are the women?

A pastor/CEO/Governor... no women?

Is Romney a robot?

Lem Vibe Bandit म्हणाले...

Sorry I put my comment in the wrong tread before... it was unintentional.

Hide yo kids! Hide you wives! He be binderin' everybody up in here!!!

Sam L. म्हणाले...

drozz, maguro used the one I learned in the AF 6 posts up from you. As you noticed.

"Binders full of women", ha ha. If 'twere binders full of old PLAYBOYs, well, they might have something. As opposed to the nothing they have.

Nathan Alexander म्हणाले...

I think Romney should make references to how his binders of women were in 50 different shades of gray, and he'd lock up the liberal woman vote in seconds.

$9,000,000,000 Write Off म्हणाले...

What men, in their egoism, constantly mistake for a deficiency of intelligence in woman is merely an incapacity for mastering that mass of small intellectual tricks, that complex of petty knowledges, that affection of cerebral rubber-stamps, which constitute the chief mental equipment of the average male. A man thinks that he is more intelligent than his wife because he can add up a column of figures more accurately, or because he is able to distinguish between the ideas of rival politicians, or because he is privy to the minutiae of some sordid and degrading business or profession. But these empty talents, of course, are not really signs of intelligence; they are, in fact, merely a congeries of petty tricks and antics, and their acquire¬ment puts little more strain on the mental powers than a chimpanzee suffers in learning how to catch a penny or scratch a match.

Bwhahahah

I'm so getting some of those for my husband.

JZ, you forgot 'lay on ground'. You are supposed to lay on the ground, light the fuse, and go to sleep very quickly. That is how I always did it. Except sometimes I threw them up in the air and my dog Sweetypie tried to catch them. She was not afraid of firecrackers.

Bravery and loyalty is a quality of many dogs and few people.
