I've played Eve Online for years.

I wonder if I ever met him.

I wonder how the drudge report that the Government was warned and did nothing will play out

And an avoidable waste.

The Dem Convention seems like it occurred about ten years ago.

So...can we stick a fork in it and call it done?

"It" being Obama's strategy of eager appeasement of the Islamofascist world.

And here's one uber-obvious question I've yet to see asked by the lame brain media. Perhaps I missed it. But what was the ambassador doing at the consulate hundreds of miles away in Benghazi instead of at the embassy on September 11. What was so god awful important for him to be there with only minimal personal protection on a day like that (September 11)? Especially when you find out the place was bombed just two months previously. Why has no one asked this question? Are the intricacies of Mitt Romney's statement really a more pressing question than that? Can we get some press coverage of the actual story please. Is that too much to ask? Or is the media really that complete of a laughingstock and a joke that they've forgotten the most basic questions of journalist - who, what, where, and why?

As a note: What was he doing that was so important? Maybe collecting papers that are now missing that included names and information of Libyan civilians working with Americans against terrorists. That won't end well.

You can understand the lack of security and lack of care for staff when you read again the State Department's tweet condemning the damn FILMMAKER instead of the rioters and killers. It all makes horrible sense.

They despise their country.

Matthew -- It's pretty possible this fellow was CIA, especially given his previous assignments and his Air Force background. However, it's equally likely that he was just a lackey like the rest of the Foreign Service.

"He wrote as protesters gathered outside: “Assuming we don’t die tonight. We saw one of our ‘police’ that guard the compound taking pictures.”

Another avoidable waste of American lives. We never, ever, learn.

I've played Eve for awhile. A few times military teammates have drop-offed because of gunfire. I can’t imagine one not coming back.

This is crazy. What is so wrong about this is how our fxxking media spun it as a story about protests over the video and the other side is spinning it the same way as well to entice their men on the street to join the mob. But the big time operators on both sides know it was a well planned, deliberate attack.

Wissam Buhmeid, the commander of the Tripoli government-sanctioned Libya's Shield Brigade, effectively a police force for Benghazi, maintained that it was anger over the Mohamed video which made the guards abandon their post. "There were definitely people from the security forces who let the attack happen because they were themselves offended by the film; they would absolutely put their loyalty to the Prophet over the consulate. The deaths are all nothing compared to insulting the Prophet."

They are protecting as does the media, their golden calf, Obama. If it is a story about a video, their negligence in letting this happen will not be brought to light or will be at least masked. Which is another reason that the fucking media jumped all over on Romney.

So they knew this was coming and the 2 leading lights of the Democrat Party did NOTHING.

Looks like it's going to be Cuomo against Halo Joe in '16.

Why do we have to go to the British press for this information?

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted...

...and...

Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the "safe house" in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack.

Obviously Mr. Romney has more questions to answer!

Revenant and Heather:
He was one of the leaders of Goonswarm. Even if you've never run across those guys, you know who they are and their actions ingame have affected you. I think Hulkageddon is their creation, and just in the past year they made my life a little miserable by trying to shut down blue ice mining. He really was a major figure in the game (and considering the depth and breadth of the game, that's really saying something). I believe even CCP released a statement.

Who gives a shit if he was an RPG'er. Incidental to his unfortunate loss. What I want to know is did any of our guys shoot back and did they hit anyone? If not, why the fuck not?

Me.

But don't feel bad. There are plenty of things I don't give a shit about. You and your opinions, for example.

"Who gives a shit if he was an RPG'er. Incidental to his unfortunate loss."

It means he was in contact with people outside the consulate and explains (incidentally) why he was in contact. And it makes him more of an individual. It says something about him that he played. I says something about him that he played Eve. I don't play Eve. I like the concept but it's like an MMORPG for masochists or mensa members... or both. (And I'm sure that Revenant won't take offense at me saying so.) I've played MMORPGs with soldiers in Iraq. It means something.

"What I want to know is did any of our guys shoot back and did they hit anyone? If not, why the fuck not?"

The Libyan security/police ran away. Other than that, no idea. I have heard that even the Marines at the Cairo Embassy weren't issued ammunition. It's horribly possible that none of the Americans were armed or had access to weapons.

Matt Sablan বলেছেন...

... If they were able to get in touch with Eve players, but the government was unaware of what was happening to them, I think I might have to go have a cry during lunch.
