The color saturation is making my eyes bleed.

Apparently Superman isn't a very popular flavor.

kentuckyliz म्हणाले...

It was a lovely day for a row. I went early in the afternoon when it was the warmest. I left the lake at 5 p.m. It was a cool wind today though--fall is here. The water is cold. I don't want to immerse myself before rowing to stay cool. I don't want to swim any more. I need to put away my lake toys for swimming. The pool is closed, too.

I was warm enough while rowing because of the sun and the heat I make during exercise. Once I was off the water, I was cold. I wasn't moving as intensely as sculling. I had to put on a T shirt.

I posted that on fb as a commentary on fall being here. Friends thought I meant I was rowing topless.

(No, I had on a tank top.)

In related news, there was a ten bassboat pileup on Paintsville Lake today. Something about distracted driving and a stacked topless redhead lady sculling by.

edutcher म्हणाले...

Looks like tutti fruitti,

And I won't say it.

And we can feel the Fall here.

kentuckyliz म्हणाले...

Sculling in a burqa would suck. It would get caught in the wheels of the seat.

yashu म्हणाले...

"Sunset of ice cream," what a great phrase for the onset of fall.

The only emperor is the emperor of ice-cream.

Stinky ice cream?

Fall? Crazy talk.

It was 102 in my living room today.

It was 90 even closer to the coast. DC has better weather than SoCal.

I've never seen radioactive ice cream before.

The Brewers won, yay, so I go to bed content.

Known Unknown म्हणाले...

The kids had "Scooperman" for their bedtime snack tonight. That's Meijer's version of the superman ice cream. Tastes like vanilla with a few other citrus-y flavors thrown in.

Chip S. म्हणाले...

I feel genuine pity for the generations of humans who lived in the time before ice cream was invented.

Known Unknown म्हणाले...

Autumn kind of smells like hot dogs.

Synova म्हणाले...

Vanilla.

Though I've picked something like Pralines and Cream the last couple times I had ice cream out.

Day-glo anything is definitely not happening.

But neither is double chocolate fudge swirl with chocolate chips. Bleh.

Maybe I should start watching professional sports. Ace of Spades always has cheerleader pictures up and I'm starting to sort of really like them just because the girls look so darn *happy*.

Happy is good.

So what is the actual name of that colorful flavor?

mesquito म्हणाले...

Took my Sunday bike ride around Mesquito Canyon and passed thru Mesquitoville (pop. 300.) The flakey newbies from Houston have Democrat yard signs, one for whoever the poor Democrat fucker is whose going to be demolished by Ted Cruz and one telling us it's important, with whitebread earnestness, that we vote Democratic.

Clueless. I mean, we're about 90 percent Republican here, especially since the collapse of the Democrat Party in Texas. But the larger point here, we don't do politcs. Some of us do yardsigns for the local races, but we don't advertise our ideolgies to the community. We do have some liberals, to be sure, but they busy themselves organizing pointless recycling programs and whatnot and donate back issues of The Nation to the library.

I saw the moronic bumper sticker Ann cited in her guest-Insta-post:

“OBAMA IS NOT A FOREIGN BORN SOCIALIST GIVING AWAY FREE HEALTH CARE. That would be Jesus.”

http://pjmedia.com/instapundit/151370/

You don't have to believe that the events in a text actually happened in order to figure out the plot. The Jesus of the Bible was foreign-born (from an American perspective), he did give free health care (miracles require no material resources), but he was not a socialist.

Jesus advocated charity. He did not advocate forcible redistribution. Unfortunately, a lot of lefties can't tell the difference between the two.

Haven't heard a word about it, but if so, I hope he is in extreme pain, and that it lasts for weeks if not years.

Synova: What baseball induces is manic-depression. That happy glow can be completely extinguished the very next day.

If it's contentment you're seeking, I recommend becoming a football fan (although I'd pick my team carefully - rooting for the Rams or Jets will not lead to happiness).

At least football fans can enjoy the afterglow of victory for an entire week when their team wins.

It's sure a nice break from politics.

अनामित म्हणाले...

“OBAMA IS NOT A FOREIGN BORN SOCIALIST GIVING AWAY FREE HEALTH CARE. That would be Jesus.”

Gee, and to hear Chris Matthews tell it, I thought Obama and Jesus were one and the same.

Chip Ahoy म्हणाले...

I bought some Neapolitan ice cream to relive those precious childhood moments way way way back when, I recall as a photo with blurred edges, really hating that crap. Whoever thought of wrecking perfectly good chocolate ice cream with strawberry separating it from vanilla was just flat perverse, I thought, and all scoops I ever got were 1/10 chocolate. I think my cousins were making out with all the chocolate. Marketed for the hopeless undecided and compromisers. And sure enough, it's bad, but actually worse than I recall. The ice cream itself is really bad. And the moral to that is never buy cheap ice cream, just don't.

So I had some today.

As punishment.

For doing so poorly yesterday on adapting a bottle into hummingbird feeder #2. The wire bending is clumsy. I'm learning. About that wire. I tried to sew the leaves on with wire and by the time I figured out how that works I was finished.

And now, understanding more clearly the properties of that wire, throughout the day I am thinking how to sling wire around a bottle so that it appears naturally draped, like a vine or a snake, while actually being held firmly and rigidly and able to endure high wind. There are like four different things I want to try right off.

The dining room table is filled with hummingbird bottle junk because my studio space is already filled with other junk, and I need it that way. Separate junks. Separate glues, supplies, and all that. The thing is, I can expand that table. Twice. It big to begin with and I can double it to take up the whole room, and there's nobody here to boss me around.

Except my inner conscious saying, "Dude, check yourself, you've got projects in every room."

I believe in the art glass bizness that would be called "end-of-day" ice cream, when they melt all the leftovers together and serve 'em up.

Sunser of ice cream is a bit more romantic.

"Whoever thought of wrecking perfectly good chocolate ice cream with strawberry separating it from vanilla was just flat perverse, I thought, and all scoops I ever got were 1/10 chocolate."

Ha! I remember going in the freezer and hauling out the Neopolitan ice cream, only to discover the box empty except for 2 nearly untouched stripes of strawberry ice cream. My siblings always got to it before I did.

Odd, mostly good weekend.

'Niners lose, unexpectedly, in a game they were never competitive in. Oh well. That's the NFL.

Giants clinch the NL West, and looks good going into the playoffs.

Lawns, front a back, power racked and reseeded. Good, and necessary.

I Have Misplaced My Pants म्हणाले...

I must disagree Mr. Chip Ahoy.

Don't know if you've ever had the pleasure of some nice Texan Blue Bell ice cream, but we just murdered a carton of Neapolitan here at Casa Erika. 3/6 of my family inhales the rich, smooth chocolate while 2/6 stays with a nice mellow but satisfying vanilla leaving the strawberry--fruity and sweet while a bit tart and containing entire frozen strawberries--for me. Everyone goes to bed happy.

Back on the no-sugar wagon tomorrow.

Yes, Superman is the name of the dayglo flavor of ice cream.

This summer, I managed not to get addicted to my typical summer ice cream addictions:
Kaleidoscoops premium ice cream (there is a shop in the town of my sculling lake)
Keeping a carton of ice cream in the freezer (where carton=the bowl)
DQ Blizzard
McDonald's coffee frappes
Starbucks strawberries and creme frappe
Peanut butter shake, extra thick, extra peanut butter, from Dairy Cheer.
There are some WW frozen dessert cups in the freezer but they have lasted all summer and there's still some in there. I like the Key Lime Pie dessert.
I had two small peanut butter sundaes from DQ this summer. Then stopped.

Over the last month it's been a cravestreak for snack pies. Never cared for them much...until now. It must end. I just looked at the box. 416 calories. It's a meal.

It ends with this inventory running out. Back to my diet desserts.

Ice cream wasn't my issue this summer. Snack pies.

I was doing well with the weight loss until vacation, and I decided not to track that week. Well then it was college registration (hella busy season) and it hasn't let up. I'm really busy because sculling eats up 4.5 hours of my day when I have a sculling day (from work) and 4 hours if from home.

Sculling makes me hungry. And strong.

And behind on grading.

Alas. Since I am so seriously immense I have forgone ice cream for the last couple of years and have quite forgotten the taste.

pm317, that is a picture of an Obama rally in Portland, Oregon in 2008. Or were you being funny?

Old RPM Daddy म्हणाले...

Sunset-of-the-Ice-Cream? Nonsense, I say! We'll be making our weekly ice cream stop in February, although I'll also say we live in Virginia. If we were in Wisconsin, we might give it a skip until April, at least.

Two other things:

1. That Superman flavor ice cream reminds me of a clump of Play-Doh after the nursery school teacher yells "Clean-up time!"

2. Bad day for DC sports. Nats lose to Brewers (did anyone see Jayson Werth losing a fly ball in the sun and then cringing with his glove over his head? I don't blame him, actually). Redskins lose to Bengals, although having grown up in Ohio, the Kitties are my AFC fave.
