"O HAI Ann Althouse!"

"Now you know how to greet people in Lolspeak."

On Flickr, just now, where they keep changing the "language" they use for the greeting.

Kinda makes me nostalgic for the old days when people were into lolcats and the like. Where did that all go? And what are the many web trends we've already forgotten?

LOLcats will always be with us, but reserved for situations that perfectly call for it.

I admit I was expecting to see a cat with oversized glasses leaning across a table looking exhausted from cramming for finals.

They've diversified into their own art form. Check out tumblr sometime if you don't believe me.

One of the earliest humor websites was a jive translator, where you could enter some text and have it translated, reminiscent of the Barbara Billingsley scene from 'Airplane'.
There is a still a website, but I haven't seen any reference to it in ages. No longer 'PC'?

Here you go:

This is also one of Rush Limbaugh's favorite ways to open his show.

Which came first? I'm betting Rush.

Someone once told me that "good morning" in Japanese sounds like "Ohio!".

You know it might be true.
