Back when roads were for people rather than the reverse, this Basque sheepherder noted that US 40 in far west Colorado went from where his flock was to where it was supposed to be. So he and the dogs got them on the highway and moving. But the road then, as now, conformed to the terrain, rather than the reverse. And the shepherd had no idea about warning cones, spotting out a tractor with a warning triangle behind and in front; he knew sheep, but not English, and he had 5000 sheep to move.
They were just east of a curve, just below the crest of a hill, when an east-running semi balling the jack swept round the bend. In law enforcement offices in places like Dinosaur and Craig you may still be able to see BW pictures. The semi floated up over the sheep, every opening in the undercarriage was packed with sheep, it was journalled on sheep, sheep died by the hundreds, maybe by the thousands. The semi washed up on the sheep, came to rest floating on them, a couple hundred had to be picked out like you pick your teeth before it could be lowered back to the ground.

The Chinese are duck walking again. Could this be where Obama learned the theory of gun walking?

That's a lot of Peking Duck!
Cute, but not even close to 5,000 ducks in that photo.
I love that!
Although if they were geese, it would be a whole different story.
I saw a kind of duck by the lake the other day that I've never seen before, my dad said it's called a 'redhead' duck.

yeah, when I saw the post, I was thinking about the end of "Red River", when the first herd gets to the new railhead at Abilene, KS, and they are told
"just drive 'em through town, so's people can get a look at 'em"
What went unreported were the 10 hunters chasing them with shotguns. ;)
I'm told there was an argument between a rabbit and a duck nearby:

We're hunting for Elmers
So that's where the ducks at the Peabody in Memphis come from.
